"Fun on the Farm" - Designer Challenge

Hello my crafty friends

Welcome to Karen Burniston's August 2019 Designer Challenge, where the theme is 'Fun on the Farm".  Karen B asked us to use the new Barn Pop Stand and farm-related dies.

I decided to make a holiday card for our eldest daughter & hubby, who would move to a farm in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself.
While the card may look nice and simple, I was surprised that it took me almost four hours to make and uses eleven different KB die sets!! I didn't have a set plan when I sat down (I rarely do) and just kept adding things until I was happy with the card.

For the barn part of the card, I stencilled a woodgrain pattern onto the red card stock.

It's easier to see in the YouTube video, but the green wreath is cut from glossy card stock and there is a panel of acetate behind the window. Both catch the light as the card is turned.

I couldn't resist having a little lamb peeking out through the barn doors. The ones on the front don't slide, but are adhered closed.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

There are three more wreath's, and the top window also has an acetate panel behind it. The doors do open and close on the inside.

The trees and stitched hills were cut from white card stock and smeared with a glitter paste for some holiday sparkle.

The lamb inside is wearing a Santa Hat from the Christmas Animals.

I added some stones from the fire pit in the Tent Pop Up.

I have also done a short YouTube video so you can see the card in action:

  2. Sometimes cards are a "labour of love" but are so worth like the one you have created for this post! I can't believe you didn't have a mapped out plan, it's perfect!
