Catherine Pooler's Canadian Adventure Video Hop

Welcome to the Canadian Adventure YouTube Hop! My crafty friends and I can't wait to share how we used the NEW 'O Canada Bundle' that’s part of the Global Adventure Pt. Tres Collection from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Since this is a video hop, all the details - including how to enter to win a prize - can be found with my YouTube video:

Last week I shared a Mini Slimline sized Pull card, but didn't have a tutorial. The A2 sized ones have been around for many years but I had figured out the measurements for a Mini Slimline version and that is the tutorial in my video today. I'm featuring the products in the NEW 'O Canada Bundle' from Catherine Pooler!

When you open the card, you see there is a flap on the right side that you pull open to reveal the sentiment.

The cards stand for display, too!

I hope you will watch the videos in the hop, be inspired by all the fun creations - and leave comments on the videos for that chance to win a prize! Once again, the details are in the description of my YouTube video!

The O Canada bundle is available now at

Catherine Pooler Designs!

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards
February - 56 cards
March so far - 35 Cards

Scrap N Stamp Canada March Inspiration Hop: "Baskets of Bunnies"

Welcome to the March Inspiration Hop by Scrap 'n Stamp Canada, with the theme 'Baskets of Bunnies'. They weren't able to get me any product for this hop, so I just pulled some older items from my stash and made a fun fold card. You can make this card with many of the items they have at Scrap 'n Stamp Canada though, so think of this more as a card idea you can make your own.

These Pull Out Fun Fold cards have been around for years and I have always wanted to make one. To put my own spin on it though, I created a Mini Slimline sized card! I didn't do a tutorial (I will have one later this month) but will list the basic measurements at the end of my post if you are curious.

Since it's a new (to me) Fun Fold with a new size - I'm counting this as the March edition to my series New Fun Folds!

The card has an aperture cut in the front and you can see through it to the inside. But when you open the card, you see that there is more to it ... the image inside is on sort of a reverse Z fold panel.

When you pull that panel to the right, another two panels are revealed. I added patterned paper to the center one and a stamped sentiment on the center one. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawns Magic Spring Messages which is a stamp set I got from Scrap 'n Stamp Canada awhile ago. Stamped in Catherine Pooler Ink, of course. The patterned paper and ephemera are by Echo Park.

I really enjoy making Mini Slimline cards, and finding ways to incorporate a fun fold into them. That being said, I also figured out the measurements for a 5 x 7" card which will be shared another day. And I will be doing this Mini Slimline one again soon! Below are my basic measurements:

Card Base: 7 x 6" - score in the centre at 3.5"

Pull out piece - 7.25 x 5.75", scored at 3.25 and 5.25"

Decorate the panels as desired (more details will be in my upcoming tutorial)

I hope you will check out the Scrap 'n Stamp Canada Blog, for a list of all the creators in the hop!

Late last year I was asked how many cards I make but I didn't have a clear number. Since many of my posts include more than a single card or project, I thought it would be fun to keep track this year.

Karen Burniston New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to our Karen Burniston Products - KB Riley LLC February Release Blog Hop. The Design Team have come together with Karen today for a fun blog hop to celebrate the release of 6 new dies. Sneak peeks of the new release started last week, and the dies are available to order NOW!

GIVEAWAY:
To celebrate the release Karen Burniston and each of the Karen Burniston - KB Riley LLC Design Team members will be giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to some lucky person who comments on our blog posts, so make sure you join the hop and comment on everyone's blog post. Winners will be randomly chosen from ALL of the blog hop comments received on our blog posts by Monday, 27th February 2023. Lots of chances to win some goodies, so just leave a comment on this post or any other blog hop posts to enter! Don't forget to leave some way for us to contact you, in case you are a lucky winner!

For my card, I combined the new release with previously released items for an ocean themed card that is 5 x 7"***    All the dies used are linked below for you and later this morning I will post a quick video here so you can see the card in action.

I was excited to see that frame for the Label Charm Pop Up - it finishes off the front opening as well as gives you even more label sizes for layering.

I think my favourite of the new borders is the crab one ... they snip apart so easily that you can add little crabs wherever you want them. And that Jellyfish? ❤️

***NOTE:  I did use a larger die cutting machine but if your machine will only accept a 6" width you can always make your 5 x 7" card in two pieces. For that, the front would measure 5.5 x 7", scoring 1/2" down the left side. The back of your card would be 5 x 7". After die cutting, simply add adhesive down that 1/2" strip and adhere it to the back side of the back card panel!

Late last year I was asked how many cards I make but I didn't have a clear number. Since many of my posts include more than a single card or project, I thought it would be fun to keep track this year.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards
February so far - 45 cards

Additional Supplies:
Patterned paper - Mermaid Tails, Kaisercraft
5 x 7" card blank and envelope
White cardstock
Black & green fine point markers
Grey alcohol marker

A Canadian Christmas Video Hop

Hello my crafty friends! I've been dropping hints about an upcoming Video Hop by Scrap 'n Stamp Canada, and today is the day the creators are sharing their projects!

I have a tutorial for creating a pair of Gift Card Holders and also a Fun Fold card on YouTube

There are a lot of cut aparts included in the paper package, so I wanted to show you some different ways to use them. They can really help you make fun projects in very little time and everything coordinates with the papers!

The photo above shows the fun fold card and the two Gift Card Holders. Below you can see one of the Gift Card Holders open, with the pocket to add the gift card into.

You will also have seen a number of cards I've already created with this paper package, the coordinating solids, the enamel dots and ephemera. I even used it for my December Sheetload of Cards, which posted yesterday! Everything is available at Scrap 'n Stamp

Next up is the 5 x 7"  Z-fold card using another one of the included cut aparts.

Inside is one of the ephemera pieces as the sentiment and still lots of room to write a personal greeting.

You should have arrived here from the talented Candice!

I believe I'm the last creator on the hop - so the next stop is the Scrap 'n Stamp Blog:

Scrap 'n Stamp is giving away THREE $100 gift certificates to their webstore. The hop and comment period will run from 9:00am EST on December 3, 2022 through 11:59pm EST on December 10, 2022. Winners will be announced on the Scrap 'n Stamp Blog December 12, 2022. The more people comment, the higher their chances of winning! _____________________________________________ DISCLAIMER: Being on a Design Team, I receive supplies to use in some of my projects. My opinion is always my own, and if I am promoting a product it is because I truly like it and not because it was gifted to me.

Winter Coffee Easel Card

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Fun Fold Friday her on my blog. Today is also the last day of the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop and I really wanted to play along. Nothing like squeaking in at the last minute!

I will be taking part in a video hop on December 3, put on by Scrap 'n Stamp Canada. I chose to work with this Echo Park collection 'The Magic Of Winter' and have been having fun using it to create lots of other cards as well. When I saw this cut apart on one of the 12 x 12" sheets, I knew it would be perfect for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

I created a 5 x 7" Easel Card using it, the coordinating solids and the ephemera as well. While it's hard to see in the photos, I added some sparkly Paper Glaze to the whipped cream and the heart on the coffee.

The card folds flat for mailing, then stands up for display. The 'bumper' is popped up with foam tape and that is what keeps the card from collapsing.

I added a white rectangle as a place to write a personal greeting, and added one of the stickers that were included into the paper package.

... one more look, which is how it will come out of the envelope.

Additional Supplies:
5 x 7" Card & Envelope
Sequins - stash
White cardstock

Scrap 'N Stamp November Inspiration Hop - Penny Black

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Scrap 'n Stamp Canada's November Inspiration Hop - we are featuring Penny Black! I created two cards, one is a Mini Slimline and the other is a 5 x 7" card.  Remember to leave a comment on each stop on the hop to be entered to win a $50 Scrap 'n Stamp Gift Card

I adore sentiment stamps from Penny Black, and this one is a current favourite for my holiday cards ... it's called Christmas Feeling and I have it linked below for you. I also wanted to do something different with this card and went with a monochromatic look. So many stampers add beautiful colour with inks and water colours with these Penny Black stamps but there is so much detail in the stamp -- it's pretty just as is!

I started with a 4.5 x 6.5" panel, dipping and dragging puddles of watery Catherine Pooler inks onto it. I simply dab the ink pad onto a piece of acetate (or stamp packaging), spritz it with water, quickly turn it over and press it onto the cardstock panel. I repeated it until I was happy and set the panel aside to dry. While waiting, I used an Echo Park stencil to add some snowflakes to the card front from the lower left to the upper right.

Using my Misti I stamped the Penny Black bird image with Cove Blue ink onto the water coloured panel, then lightly over stamped it with black. I stamped the sentiment and trimmed the panel to 4 x 6", inking the edge for definition. The leaves, berries and beak are sparkly from a Sakura Stardust pen and I spattered the panel with Lawn Fawn's Liquid Stardust. Then, I spritzed it with Shimmer Spray. There is such a lovely sparkle to the card! Adding the panel to the stencilled card front I finished it off with some Honey Bee Prism Gems.

Here is a peek at the inside, with more stencilling and another sentiment from the same stamp set.

Next up is the Mini Slimline card, which is 3.5 x 6" and fits in a #8 envelope for mailing. I repeated the same technique on a white panel using Stone Blue ink and when it was dry I stamped the sentiment.

To ground the die cut snowman, I tore two white strips and inked the torn edges. Then I added some Sparkle Paper Glitz along those torn edges for some sparkle & shine. The snowman was die cut from white and I used a water brush and Catherine Pooler inks to add some light water colouring. The black nose was done with a black marker when I knew the piece was good and dry. It was popped up with thin foam tape.

I see that this cute snowman is sold out at Scrap 'n Stamp but you can 'click to be notified' when it comes back in stock. It must be popular, as it was available when I ordered it! I added more of those Honey Bee Prism gems as well.

Below is the inside, where I used another sentiment from the same Penny Black Stamp set.

Check it out - Scrap 'n Stamp is having a sale on Penny Black stamps!

This is an Inspiration HOP - and the next stop is  MEGHAN

Remember if you get lost along the way, the full Hop list is on the Scrap 'N Stamp BLOG.
