Paper Pro's - Tag You're It

Good morning friends

It's time for another Paper Pro's challenge - this month Frances offers the challenge "Tag You're It" - LOL she has had tags on the brain lately as this was also her challenge for last week's Crazy4Challenges post!

Of course I used Karen Burniston's Tag Book Pop-Up for my card, and once again I put the pop-up platform inside a full card. I like that this gives you another way to use the cool pop-up die set!

On the front of the card, I have a glossy fish embellishment that was fussy cut from a sheet of patterned paper in the stack.

I added the "popping up to say" cut from teal card stock, then added glossy accents to the words so they catch the light.

Here is a look at the inside ...

I like that you can see the design of the backing card through the openings. Usually I add a patterned panel that covers this, but on this particular card I liked the openings.

Super hard to photograph, but all of the embellishments were cut from a sheet of patterned paper in the same stack and they are glossy and shiny. Because I kept the embellishments completely flat, this card will easily fit into an envelope and mail for a single stamp.

The Paper Pro's challenge is a casual one, with a varying number of participants each month. This month we have:

Karen Aicken - that's ME!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - K & Company
Kraft and teal card stocks
Glossy Accents

Card size - 4-1/2 x 6"

C4C416 Tag You're It

Good morning friends

Welcome to the first Crazy 4 Challenges challenge of 2018. Our hostess this month is Frances Byrne, and our guest designer is Elena Anderson.  Frances Challenge this week is "Tag You're It! - For our first challenge for the year incorporate a tag or  tags some way in your creation."

Karen Burniston released her Tag Book Pop-Up die set in November, which makes a really cool tag shaped pop-up card. I had the idea to insert the pop-up mechanism into a regular card to give you more looks from the same die. It must have been a good idea as other people are doing it now too! Love sharing ideas and ways to get more use from your supplies.

My card front uses a couple of my new Riley and Company stamps. I took advantage of their Black Friday sale and have some fun new humorous stamps to play with.

The coffee embellishments were fussy cut from a sheet of patterned paper in the stack. I didn't use foam tape on the inside embellishments or thick card stock, and this card will easily mail for a single stamp. Once I had the inside pieces folded and adhered together, I found it was catching because of a couple of 'chads' on the arms. I simply rubbed them with my fingernail and the card opens smoothly now.

There is so much dimension in this pop-up!

The die set also comes with a pair of paper clip dies, which are fun little accents.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C416.

Hanukkah Tag Book Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I have another Tag Book Pop-Up card to share today. This one I made for our middle daughter and family - she is going to love it!

While the embossing powder looks a little splotchy in the photos, those spots are actually blue glitter. I picked up the embossing powder at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show last Spring - it's by JudiKins and called Hanukkah. Blue glitter and silver - so pretty!

There is SO much dimension with this new Pop-Up, I decided to keep the embellishments flat. The navy panels were die cut with the coordinating dies then stamped and embossed with the same embossing powder.

I'm loving these foil snowflakes by Stampin' Up. Both gold and silver came in the package, so I used a silver one here on the fold of the inside. I did have to do a little trimming at the rounded corners but that was easy peasy.

Supplies:
White, navy card stocks
Hanukkah Embossing Powder - Judi Kins
Stamps - CAS-UAL Friday's
Silver Washington tape - stash
Silver Glitter Paper - Stampin' Up
Silver foil snowflake - Stampin' Up
Bakers Twine
White ribbon

Card size - 6 x 3", not including ribbons

Happy Birthday Moose Pop-Up Tag Card

Good morning friends

This card was sort of a no-brainer for me. I had just received Karen Burniston's new Tag Book Pop-Up die set, I needed to make a First Birthday Card for our nephew's little guy, and his nickname is MOOSE. Seriously. Right away I knew I'd be using Riley the Moose for CJ's card.

Using the large tag die & hinge from the Tag Book Pop-Up, I created the outer card.

The stitched banner piece also comes with the Tag Book Pop-Up die set. Such a fun detail, that stitching line.

The card opens from the top to reveal Riley the Moose sporting a bow tie, party hat and holding onto balloons.

The party hat and balloons are from the Birthday Charms set, and the bow tie is from the new Tiny Accessories 1 set.

I used the pop-up platform die from the Tree Pop-Up to perch Riley on. Don't be afraid to mix and match your die sets!

I know CJ's parents are going to be super excited about this card, and that makes me happy.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - many many years old, from my stash
Green, white, orange and red card stocks
Basic Riley - Riley & Company
Derwent water colour crayons and water brush
Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Bakers twine
Word Stamps - Stampin' Up
Copics
Fun foam
Crayola markers
Banner punch - Stampin' Up
Glossy Accents

Card size - 3 x 6" which fits perfectly into a 4 x 6" envelope.

Reindeer Tag Book Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I had another play with Karen Burniston's newest die set, the Tag Book Pop-Up. For today's card though, I used it a little differently and created a full sized backing card rather than using the tags & hinge as the die set was designed.

This patterned paper has several sheets of printed tags of various sizes so I used one here on the card front. I kept it over to the left side, as the Tag Book Pop-Up creates a lot of folds and they are all on the right when the card is closed.

Here is a look at the card inside, with so many fun folds. My goal this year was to use some older stamps along with new products and I really had fun pulling out some images I haven't used in awhile. I am going to continue that goal next year as well! For this card I used a fun stamp set from Paper Smooches that I've had for a couple of years.

To change it up even more, I cut the scalloped tops off the end tags and the layering tags as well. Also, I decorated the folding panels before I adhered the inner tags together. I found it easier to decorate each of the panels when they could lay completely flat. While wiggly eyes would have been really cute to use, I was keeping the bulk down so I chose not to add them this time. In fact, the stamped and cut out images were all adhered directly to the patterned paper panels without even using foam tape!

When I finished adding the patterned paper and stitched scalloped edges on each side, the ends of the Tag Book Pop-Up were catching on the outer strip. So I added stitched circles but will remember to check for catch points next time.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out, and how it changes the look of the die set completely. It's always fun to come up with new ways to use our dies.

I just adore the little reindeer from this stamp set, called Santa Paws. I have several others stamped and cut out so now I just need some extra time to play with them!

Supplies:
Red and white cad stocks
Patterned paper - DCWV
Black Glaze pen - Sakura
Copic markers
Stamps - Paper Smooches
Clear glaze pen - Sakura
Stitched circle dies - MFT Stamps
Word stamp - Lawn Fawn

Card size - 4-1/2 x 6"

'Run Wild' Tag Book Pop-Up

Good morning friends

Today's share uses both new and new-to-me products - the brand new Tag Book Pop-Up by Karen Burniston, and the Adventure series paper, stamps and journal cards by Wild Whisper Designs.

I fussy cut the title from a sheet of patterned paper in the package, layering it over one of the journal cards. I loved how perfectly the journal card fit on the Tag Book card front.

This die set creates such a dynamic pop-up inside. Below you can see the card as it opens ...

Just look at all those awesome folds!

I'm crazy about the Wild Whisper Adventure stamps, which includes this bear. It is in two parts, the outline and the solid - and both can also be used independently of each other. Then there are the wood ring stamps, which are hands down my new favourites.

I added a stamped greeting, a die cut heart, a fussy cut word (adventure) from the same patterned paper as the one on the card front, and fussy cut arrows.

I've actually had this card finished for several weeks, but had to wait until the Tag Book Pop-Up was officially released to share it here. You are going to see lots of these cards, as the whole Design Team has been using it very creatively.

Supplies:
1023 Tag Book Pop-Up - Karen Burniston
Patterned paper, and journal card - Wild Whisper Designs
Adventure stamps - Wild Whisper Designs
1009 Twist Panel Pop-Up (small rectangle die) - Karen Burniston
Bakers Twine
Copics
