Sparkling Gold Gift Pivot Panels Pop Up Card

Hello crafty friends ...

I'm back today with another card that was made and sent to Hochanda as a sample for them to show on air. If you are unfamiliar with Hochanda, it's a UK Craft Shopping Program and Karen B & Tanya were going to be presenting on air. They decided to stay in the USA though because of the Corona Virus, and the lovely Paula Pascual did the presenting for them.

Remember you can see all my interactive cards on my YouTube Channel HERE!

I put a lot of thought into my Hochanda samples, wanting to use more elegant papers & embellishments that also had some shimmer for the TV lights. I didn't make any A2 sized cards either, since that is a North American size and not one often made overseas.

The beautiful gold glitter card stock was perfect for this pink and gold foil patterned paper, but not wanting to waste what was going to be hidden by the paper, I used a craft knife to cut a rectangle from the centre of the gold glitter paper to save for a different project.

As you can see, I used the Gift Pivot Panel, and while I added a Happy Birthday to the front this could easily be a Wedding or Anniversary card too! The white is a pearlized card stock to add some more shimmer.

Pink card stock

Fine Gold Glitter card stock - Michaels

Lacy Easter Egg Card Duo

Hello crafty friends ...

For my cards today, I pulled out the Bring On Spring Shaker kit from Queen and Company, and used the lacy egg die to create non-shaker card embellishments.

This first card uses a new-to-me-sketch, which I did enjoy.

Of course I added some sparkly Gumdrops from Your Next Stamp to the flower centres on the egg, and white pearlized card stock behind the egg cutaway.

Here is a peek at the inside of the first card ...

Here is the second card, using some of the cute patterned paper scraps from the pad.

And finally, here is a peek at the inside of card number two. I added a cute resin chick sticker from my stash as well as the sentiment strips from Taylored Expressions.

Four Washi Tape Birthday Cards

Hello crafty friends ...

Here are a few more photos I found in the file ... cards that didn't get shared here for some reason. I remember making these and being just tickled with how bright and cheery they turned out!

I pulled out some Washi Tape and added it to die cut panels wrapping the edges around to the back side. That way I could secure the panel to the card base and not worry about any of the tape lifting up at the edges.

The Stampin' Up images were coloured with Copic markers, die cut with a stitched circle die, matted and popped up over the washi tape area with foam tape.

Here is a peek at the inside, using the same stamp set as the cake on the front.

Definitely going to have to remember this layout and use it again soon. It would also work great using strips of patterned paper and I know I have LOTS of scraps that would work.

Doggie Sympathy Card

Hello crafty friends ...

When we heard the news that a friends lovely lab suddenly died, I wanted to make a card to let them know we were thinking of them.

I used the heart die from Karen Burniston's Heart Pivot Panel to die cut a window for a shaker, and filled it with tiny hearts for their beloved girl. The tiny red heart is from Karen Burniston's Car & Dog die set ... I love all the different hearts that Karen B includes with her sets. I went over the noses of each of the silhouette dog dies with a black glaze pen, which catch the light.

Finally, here is a peek at the inside ...

Kraft, black and red card stocks

Birthday Owls Charm Accordion Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing another card I made for Hochanda, a crafts TV channel in the UK. They selected which of Karen Burniston's dies they wanted to feature on their KB segment and the team got to work on samples to share on TV.

Remember you can always see my interactive card videos HERE on YouTube.

I have always loved the Charm Accordion, so I paired it with the fun owls from the Feathered Animals and added a few Birthday Charms too. Since the Hochanda cards were specifically made for TV, I made sure to use products that would catch the bright lights and hopefully catch people's attention. The black on the card is lovely black mirror card stock. I can't get my hands on more - it is constantly sold out!

Below is the card front, and how it looks coming out of the envelope.

Look at how fun this card is - and what a great display piece it makes! I cut two Charm Accordions and attached them together with the included hinge.

Here are the first two panels and you can see the turquoise glittered frame and hinges, and the dangling star charm. The stars all got some shimmer with a glitter pen.

Also on the hinges, I cut them again from the black glossy card stock and adhered the narrow frame around the glittered hinge. This is a fun detail and gives the card a little more shine.

Here are the final two pages - I tried to make each of the owls look a little different from each other.

This is the back view, with a dangling star in the centre. You don't really see this when the card is displayed but people will turn it around when they look at it so this finishes off the card nicely.

I was really happy with how this card turned out and was proud to send it off as a show sample.

1003 Word Set 2 Birthday - Karen Burniston
1004 Birthday Carms - Karen Burniston

Scalloped Edge Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I have a Birthday Card to share, using a Scalloped Card base die and older patterned papers from my stash.

After stamping the greeting onto the Fishtail Banner, I added some pretty, clear stickers around where I wanted to mount the banner.

Finally here is a peek at the inside, with a stamped greeting and a few more stickers. I like that the inside panel is hidden until you lift up the scalloped card front.

Into my stash with this one!

'Peek A Boo' Easter Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm on the Your Next Stamp Blog sharing an Easter Card made with some of the fun March release products from Your Next Stamp!

I'm really liking the Stitched Rectangle Frame Die set, so used it again here to create the border frame on my card front. Also new, is the Affirmation Card with Peek A Boo Door die. I chose to have the hinge at the bottom, but you could easily have it at the top or turn the card and have it on the side.

Remember you can always see my interactive card videos HERE on YouTube.

The little lambs from the Life Is Sweet set are just SO cute! I added one to the front of the door, then stamped one of the greetings onto a Stitched Fishtail Banner. A few sparkly Gumdrops finished off the card ... or did it???

Look at the little stamped scene that is behind the door! What a fun surprise for someone who receives this card.

Cat and Dog Circle Charm Pop Up Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing another card sample I made for Hochanda. For the sample cards, there was pre determined set of dies we could work with. I was happy to get to use the Circle Charm Pop Up as it is one of my favourites and I don't use it nearly enough. I was also supposed to the the Cat and Dog die set, so combined them with some older patterned paper from my stash and this is the card I came up with.

Remember you can always see my interactive card video's on my YouTube Channel HERE.

For a different look, I trimmed away 1/2" from the right edge of the card front so you can see the second pattern showing through when the card is closed. I also made a larger than A2 card, since the standard A2 we usually make is a North American size.

The Happy Birthday was die cut from glittered card stock for some birthday shimmer and shine.

Below is what the card looks like open ...

I added both foiled and glittered card stocks and other sparkly bits to help catch the lights on the set. The dog is just SO cute ... he has a glossy nose and glittery bandana.

The Celebrate was die cut from the same glittered card stock as the Happy Birthday on the front.

Both this card and my Explosion Pop Up were used on the Hochanda promo badge, so that was pretty exciting for me.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Spring Fling, Pebbles
Card and envelope - Recollections
Gold foil card stock - Stampin' Up

Penguin Shaker Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my stash. I wanted to have another play with the Waddles Happy Brr-thday set from Your Next Stamp, and since I'm enjoying creating shaker cards right now I combined the two.

I nested two of the YNS Stitched Squares to make the frame for my shaker, and added some different filler & sequins. The words 'Make a Wish' were stamped on the background before adding the shaker, which isn't something I do very often. But I like it!

Finally, here is a peek at the inside:

Turquoise, white and teal card stocks
Patterned paper - Sweet Celebration, MFT Stamps
Stitched Square Die Set - Your Next Stamp
Stitched Rectangle die set - Your Next Stamp

Puffy Butterfly Sticker Birthday Cards

Hello crafty friends ...

Late last fall I bought this Oval Grid die from the Stamps of Life, and had fun making some card backgrounds with some older papers from my stash. I loved getting to use up lots of the scraps that were in the package and decided to make some cards to donate to my Mom's old nursing home.

I really like these butterfly stickers, but decided they weren't doing anybody any good being in my sticker bin so used up all 4 of them on the sheet. The patterned paper has nice glossy bits to it, which I always like for Birthday Cards.

Supplies:
Puffy butterfly stickers - MAMBI
Patterned paper - Little Miss, DCWV
Grid4 (ovals) - Stephanie Barnard, the Stamps of Life
White, black, green and pink card stocks
Happy Birthday To You - Cool Tag Banner Sentiments, Your Next Stamp
White embossing powder
Fish tail banner die - MFT Stamps
MISTI - My Sweet Petunia
Wishing You - the Inside Scoop, Taylored Expressions

Explosion Pop Up Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing another card that was sent to Hochanda to show on air. The hosts really seemed to like it, and I can't tell you how proud that makes me! The Karen Burniston Peeps Page on FaceBook had a Watch Party, and it was lots of fun to watch the first episode with a group of crafty online friends.

The front is bright and cheerful - and sparkly! - but really quite simple with some die cut balloons, patterned paper and a die cut Celebrate. The sequins were added for additional sparkle (for those camera lights!) and the card is actually held closed with the ribbon.

Remember you can see all my interactive cards on my YouTube Channel HERE!

Below, the ribbon has been untied ...

I even added a glittery mat ... you know I love sparkle and shine on my birthday cards!

Here is the inside! One of the great things about Karen Burniston Pop Up dies, is that YOU get to choose the card size. This one is a full 7 x 5". None of the cards I made for Hochanda were an A2, since that is a North American size.

I die cut the Celebrate three times. curving the centre one over the middle balloon.

Supplies:
1030 Happy Birthday - Karen Burniston
1069 Explosion Pop Up - Karen Burniston
Patterned paper - Hello Spring, American Crafts
Blue, pink and white card stocks
Turquoise glisser card stock
White pearl card stock
1003 Word Set 2 Birthday - Karen Burniston
Arteza Glitter gel pens
Seam binding
1067 Celebrate - Karen Burniston
Sequins
Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen
