Ice Cream Cone Platform Pop Up Card

Not only is it Fun Fold Friday, this is the 6th edition to my monthly series "Platform Pop Up Cards". I added the stamped & die cut 'COOL' to the front, and the ice cream cones are dies by Simon Says Stamp.  The pink puffy pieces are from a SU milkshake set. I stamped the sentiment on a scalloped rectangle and added it to the back with room for a personal message.

Every July I send my kids & brother an ice cream themed card to honour my Mom. When she was a little girl, her Dad (my Grampa) would take her for an ice cream soda after a July parade in their town. She continued the tradition with my brother and I, even though we didn't go to a parade. On a certain day in July we would all go for ice cream. I continued the tradition with our kids, and now our grandkids too.

When my Dad passed away, I made sure to take Mom for her ice cream or we would deliver it to her on that day. Often our family can't all be together on that day but we all make sure we have ice cream and say CHEERS to my Mom. I have been sending them an ice cream themed card in July for many years as well, and this will be one of the ones I send out this year.

I love how this card folds flat for mailing in a 5 x 7" envelope.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Trio of Paper Pumpkin Alternate Cards

Even though I made all the cards from this kit back in March, I decided to spread out sharing them by doing one post a week. Since the colours and papers are very similar in the cards I didn't want all my blog posts to start looking the same! This week I'm sharing another Paper Pumpkin Alternate card using the March 2020 'No Matter The Weather' kit ... this time a trio of 'get well' type cards.

I wasn't overly keen on the gloomy printed panels - they are definitely not my style. But paired with bright and cheery rubber boots and rainbow printed paper? I liked them a LOT better. I also added die cut stitched clouds, sequins and a stamped sentiment strip.

Inside the cards I added stamped sentiments from my stash and another strip of that patterned paper.

I'll be back next week with another alternate project with this kit.

5 x 7" Canada Flag Card

This card was quick and easy to make, using cut-aparts from a paper pad. I didn't add a sentiment to the front as I will write 'Happy Canada Day' inside and I liked the clean look of the flag matted with the bright red plaid.

Dog Themed Birthday Card Trio

I made these three cards as a gift for a friends birthday. I just adore the printed panels from Hunky Dory's Little Book of Muddy Paws so that is what I used for the main images on the cards. The card bases are one of the Memories & More cards from Stampin' Up and they have gold foiling on the envelopes. ❤️

This first card resembled one of their dogs, so I added the sentiment on a stitched circle on the front. Each of the envelopes were stamped with dog images that coordinate with the coloured ink I used on the cards. I also added Nuvo Glaze for the eyes & nose are nice and shiny.

The sentiment inside was added onto a folded cardstock spring for a little somethin' somethin'.

The sentiment on this Pug card makes me smile.

Since I have such a large collection of humorous sentiments, I had fun choosing one for each of the card interiors.

The circle didn't really go with the Boxer card, so I added the sentiment to a cardstock strip instead.

That Nuvo Glaze works so well - I love the shine it gives.

Finally, here is the inside of the third card ...

Birthday Shaker Card

I wanted to make a dog themed birthday card for a friend who enjoys humorous cards and this is what I came up with. I love those printed dog panels (Little Book of Muddy Paws by Hunkydory) and since the package came with SO many I keep on using them. Because they are lightweight, I adhered the panel to white cardstock before I created the Infinity Shaker.

The shaker was attached to a metallic printed stitched panel which was then adhered to the card base. Then I added the stamped sentiment.

Inside I added the rest of the sentiment onto a banner, and a few more details. I also stamped on the envelope.

Canada Day Magic Iris Card

Today I'm sharing the 6th edition to my monthly series "Magic Iris Cards". For this one, I created a card to celebrate Canada Day (July 1st). The patterned paper is from Catherine Pooler and it was perfect for this card! When you slide down the lever, the shutters open up to reveal a stamped sentiment.

Inside, I added a stitched red panel and the Slimline Celebrate die. I added a tiny stamped red maple leaf on the die cut, which makes me happy.

Paper Pumpkin Alternate Pop Up Card

Even though I made all the cards from this kit back in March, I decided to spread out sharing them by doing one a week. Since the colours and papers are very similar in the cards I didn't want all my posts to start looking the same! This week I'm sharing another Paper Pumpkin Alternate card using the March 2020 'No Matter The Weather' kit ... this one is a larger than A2 card that features a pop up inside.

I added Nuvo Glaze onto the green rubber boots so they are raised and shiny. 😊

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Little Labels Pop Up, cut from another sheet of the rainbow patterned paper, and added a fussy cut boots/greenery image for the centre front image.

I just poked around in my stamps to find sayings that I thought went well with the card.

... one more look ...

I'll be back next week with another alternate project with this kit

Plaid Canada Day Duo

These cards started with the patterned paper, which is called Moose Crossing by Catherine Pooler. I pulled out the O Canada paper packages by Photo Play and chose some stickers and cut aparts then used the May 2023 Sheetload of Cards for the sketch.

There are a few people I send Canada Day cards to, but June has been extremely busy so needed to keep them simple this year. A sketch, stickers on the front, cutaparts on the inside and cute patterned paper. Easy Peasy!

Sealife Slimline Wiper Card

I just adore this Slimline paper pad, so pulled it out again and had the idea to use the 5 x 7" Wiper die set with it to create a Slimline sized Wiper card. It worked perfectly - and since I have a number of different Slimline paper pads, I will be doing this again! NOTE: Since the dies are larger than the paper I used removable tape to line up the die so it didn't shift when going through my die cutting machine.

It's hard to see in the photos, but I added a number of clear enamel dots for a litlte shine and they resemble water bubbles. The stamped and die cut sentiment was popped up with foam tape.

Below is the back side, with a humorous sentiment and some stamped images. I added the same images to the envelope as well.

Using a small stitched circle die and a scrap of the patterned paper, I cut the circle in half and stamped PULL on either side. These were attached to each side where the recipient would pull to reveal the wiper that is hidden inside. I have watched non card makers when they receive a wiper card and they aren't sure how to get it open, so this solves that problem. Ha.

Birthday Balloons Wiper Card

Today I'm sharing the 6th edition to my Monthly Series: New Fun Folds. I got this die set for my February Birthday, and while I played with it in early March I'm just now getting the card shared. I was saving it for this edition, as it IS a new (to me) fun fold die set. It is the "5 x 7" Wiper Card" die set by Sam Calcott at Mixed Up Crafts. We had been in Arizona over my birthday so I was able to get the set with my birthday $$ from Craft Stash US.

When you pull on the sides, a decorated piece pops up over the top edge. I have been having a lot of fun with this scenic patterned paper, which was a 'free with purchase' from Stampin' Up. I added the Celebrate (Karen Burniston) and die cut balloons (Lawn Fawn). The balloons were die cut from rainbow holographic card stock and I added the highlights with a white paint pen.

Adding a white panel on the back gave me lots of room for a large stamped sentiment and a couple of balloons.

Paper Pumpkin Alternate Flip Card Duo for Spring

Each week I've been sharing my alternate cards using the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit called No Matter The Weather. For these ones I made two nearly identical cards using the 5 x 7" Flip Mechanism by Sam Calcott. In her assembly video she mentioned being able to use the double flip as a single, and I just had to try it out. I still made larger cards - these ones are 5 x 6.5" because I wanted to use the umbrella patterned paper and it was in a 6 x 6" paper pad.

I have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube:

Folding the stitched circle pieces in half (from the kit) I stamped PULL on them and added them to the side you would pull to flip the rain boot piece over. I did one that pulls to the right and one that pulls to the left and I cannot decide which one I prefer. 😊

Inside the cards I stamped the rain boots and greenery, as well as a lovely Easter sentiment that I've had for a couple of years. I love the size of it!

... one more look ...

I'll be back next week with another alternate project with this kit.
