Heart Flip Anniversary Card

I love this little heart-flip die set (Studio Light), so pulled it out again to make an Anniversary card for friends.

Rather than use the included layering dies to add patterned paper to the card base, I die cut the card base from this sparkly metallic printed paper. I did cut the two side pieces from white card stock with the layering dies and added them on the back. That made the card a little sturdier - if you follow me you know I don't like 'wussy' cards.

The flip side of the heart has a gold foil mat ... the stamps I've had for many years and I was happy with how well they fit on this card. Finally, some gold foil flat gem stickers and my card was ready to pop in the envelope. Folded, the card measures about 4" so it fits in a standard A2 envelope.

Supplies used:
SL Heart Essentials - Studio Light
6x6" patterned paper - Metallic Shimmer, Stampin' Up
Inside Out Anniversary - Taylored Expressions
Metallic gem stickers - either Dazzles or Stamp On It

Desert Themed Father's Day Card

I meant to share this card yesterday for Masculine Card Monday on my blog .. but time completely got away from me.

I knew I wanted to use this SW themed patterned paper pad for hubby's card and when I was looking through my fun fold die sets I spied this Zig Zag die set. This time I reversed the way the circles fold though, with the back circle sliding over the front one and I was really happy with that. I'll do it again for sure.  The die makes the score lines at the same time it cuts and I just folded the left circle to the back and the right circle to the front. That gave me the overlapping effect.

The decorative elements were die cut from another sheet of paper in the pad, and I also pulled out an older stamp set with some desert flora & fauna to stamp on the plainer pieces.

Supplies used:
SL Circle ZigZag Cardshape Essentials - Studio Light
Patterned paper - Golden Desert, Prima
SW stamps - Bohemian, Michaels
Blending sponges
Catherine Pooler coloured inks
Happy Father's Day - Karen Burniston
Tie-Riffic - Reverse Confetti
Alcohol markers

Valentine Heart Flip Card

The last card I made with this heart flip die set was a Thanksgiving card (see that one HERE) so with Valentine's Day coming up I decided to bring it out again. Because those cute little bees are paper pieced and I wanted to pop them up with foam tape, I have a YouTube video showing my process.

Of course the card started with the patterned paper, which is an older one by Doodlebug.

The holographic cardstock for the bee wings give the card so much shine! ❤️

Circle Gatefold Shaker

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog. Today I'm sharing the 12th and final edition of my Monthly Series "New Fun Folds" and I used a new die set by Studio Light for this one. It's called Circle Shutter Card Essentials and I bought it in the fall from Ecstasy Crafts when I was ordering some Glitter Dots. I must have been in a shopping mood that day, as I ended up ordering a couple of card die sets! This was my first play with using one and I knew I wanted to use more of that pretty wintery scene patterned paper for my card.

I had also ordered the coordinating circle shaker blisters so decided to break those out too. This card took a little bit more thought and preparation than I am used to - I'm a craft-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type of card maker. It was worth it though and I knew just who I was making the card for.

This type of card - where you see the inside even when the card is closed - is truly outside of my comfort zone but now that I have one under my belt I will have fun playing with this die set in the New Year.

I added a panel to the back side which is where we wrote our personal greeting.

... one more look ...

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Snowflake Zig Zag Card

Today I'm sharing another holiday card and this one uses the Circle Zig Zag die set by Studio Light.  I knew I wanted to use it with 'scenic' patterned paper and I'm so happy with how this turned out!

I love the prints on this patterned paper, but after working with it for awhile I am finding a few issues. It's coated, so if you stamp on it you have to allow for drying time so your ink won't smear. I just used dye inks, but one could also heat emboss their sentiments.

The paper is also really thin so glue lines show through and it has a tendency to buckle or wrinkle. Things to keep in mind! I didn't want to add a signing block inside, since I love how the scene sort of flows across the card. So instead I added one to the back, using the included layering dies in the set.

I added die cut snowflakes as well as a large iridescent snowflake and the sentiment was hot foiled. I love how nicely this card will stand for display!

Heart Flip Style Card for Thanksgiving

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog. A few months ago I was placing an order at Ecstasy Crafts (Ontario Canada) for some Glitter Dots and Peel Off border stickers. They also carry the Studio Light line and I ended up adding a couple of those fun fold die sets to my online cart. This is one of them - the SL Heart Essentials die set. This is also the November edition to my monthly series "New Fun Folds".

It folds 'backwards' to any of the Flip-It cards I have made before and is also smaller than A2. This one creates a 4" square card which fits nicely in an A2 envelope. While initially I wasn't sure how I felt about it, once I made the card up I was quite happy with it. I actually made a video walkthrough but it has since disappeared. So instead I have a video showing how the card looks from different angles.

I used some years old patterned paper and 3-d border stickers from my stash as well as some narrow gold tape for some shimmer. And those Glitter Dots as well!

The acorn is an older Stampin' Up punch and I love getting it out for my fall cards.

Autumn Greetings Zig Zag Card

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and I'm sharing a card made with a new die set - the Zig Zag Card Essential set by Studio Light. I was placing an order from Ecstasy Crafts and 'somehow' added a couple of new die sets to my shopping cart in addition to the Glitter Dots I was ordering. 😂. Since the die creates a fun fold card, it's also the September edition to my monthly series "New Fun Folds I have all the details in my YouTube video

Below you can see the card open and likely how it will be displayed ...

I like how the card folds up for mailing and this one fits in an A4 envelope (sized for a 4 x 6" photo), but if I didn't already have some I could easily make my own or size up to an A6 envelope.
