Southwest Pop Up Birthday Card

This card is the eighth edition to my monthly series "Throwback Fun Fold Dies" and I made a masculine pop up Birthday card. The patterned paper has gold foiled bits, so I added narrow gold Washi tape for additional shine.

The label was cut from white cardstock and then I used brushes to ink the edges. The desert border was die cut from a strip of black cardstock, then I laid the same label die over it to determine what area I wanted to keep for the label, and I ran it through my die cutter again. That gave me a border with the bottom edge in the exact size and shape of my label for perfect placement. The sentiment was stamped then the label was popped up with thin foam tape.

Inside I used an older die by Karen Burniston - the Happy Birthday Pop it Ups die - which is from her days as a designer at Elizabeth Craft Designs. I haven't used it in a long time so it was fun to pull it out again.

Side view ...

I cut the Happy Birthday twice, once from black and once from green. Then the black one was adhered on top of the green with a slight off set.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards
February - 56 cards
March - 55 cards
April - 32 cards
May - 43 cards
June - 34 cards
July - 56 cards
August so far - 61 Cards

I decided to cancel the subscription that provided linked thumbnails to what products I used on my cards. It was costing me out of pocket each month, so I’m back to listing what I used.

Patterned paper - Desert Dream (Michaels)
Happy Birthday Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (retired)
Narrow gold wash tape
Gold mirror cardstock
Labels - Tasteful Label Dies, Stampin' Up

Six Thanksgiving Pop Up Cards

Hello!  This year I'm making an effort to finish off a lot of the 'in progress' cards I have in my craft room. That is where these six came from, and I have all the details on YouTube:

I loved this patterned paper and wish you could still get the K & Co paper pads. Both the Happy Thanksgiving on the card fronts, and the leaf & pumpkin inside were cut from a mottled foiled card stock and I adore the shine. I also added some gold Glitter Dots!

Since the card bases and pop up interiors were already cut and sitting in my 'In Progress' bin, I just pulled in some additional items from my stash to complete them. These cards were made using an older die cutting system from Karen Burniston called "Pop 'n Cut" these are the big Steel Ruled dies and I still have all of mine.

I used Karen Burniston's Autumn Elements for the leaf and the pumpkin elements - and I love that the veining shows up so well when you use a metallic or foiled card stock.

Thank You Teacher, Pop-Up Card

Hello my crafty friends

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog! Today I have another teacher appreciation card to share today, and this one uses a retired Karen Burniston die set. I kept the front nice and simple ...

The little word bubble is from the current Spinner Square Pop-Up.

The Anita Frames Pop-Up is such a dynamic Pop-Up that gives lots of oooooh's and aaaaaaah's when it's opened. There are requests from customers that this one come back so we will all have to wait and see if that happens. I added a zig-zag border using the new Border Blends Argyle, and a white square for the grandkids to sign their names.

The little stamps from Waffle Flower are the perfect size for decorating the panels. I coloured everything with Chameleon Color Tone and Color Top markers.

Supplies:
Kraft card stock
Patterned paper - Paper Patch (very old paper from my stash)
Anita Frames Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (retired)
White and black card stocks
1090 Border Blends Argyle - Karen Burniston
Stamps, Pencil In - Waffle Flower
1042 Spinner Square Pop-Up (Scalloped square, word bubble and corners) - Karen Burniston

Scarecrow & Pumpkin Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's FUN FOLD FRIDAY here on my blog, and today's share uses a retired die by Karen Burniston - the Rectangle Pull Card. I always loved those Pull Card dies ... so still get them out to use now and again.

I created the background panel with Distress Oxide inks, then adhered the adorable scarecrow. This set was one of my early Lawn Fawn purchases, and I still just love it! The felt pumpkin sticker was in my stash, so I added it as well as a stamped and die cut pumpkin.

Here is a peek at the inside, with a greeting on the left and a space for us to sign our name on the right.

Supplies:
Rectangle Pull card - Karen Burniston (Retired)
Patterned paper - DCWV
Confetti card stock, off white
Felt pumpkin sticker - stash
Scarecrow, pumpkin and crow stamps - Lawn Fawn
Copic markers
Sakura white gel pen
Black and clear Sakura gel pens
Words inside - TAWS (no longer in business)

Tis the Season Christmas Pivot Card

Good morning friends

I have a holiday card to share today, that didn't get posted in December. I rarely post in the same order I make them and with this card share I can say that this was the very last of this patterned paper package. I love to use stuff up!

Unfortunately the Pivot card dies are no longer in production, but we can always hope that Karen Burniston comes out more Pivot dies! They were a huge favourite for sure. This card was going to dog-loving friends of ours so I had to add one of Karen B's cutie patootie dogs to the front.

The cool thing about a Pivot Card, is the decorations on the front & back pivot to the centre when the card is opened.

I have been busy with Spring and Easter cards so haven't actually made any holiday cards for awhile. I'd better get on that, as I planned on making them throughout the year so I would have enough in my stash for the 2018 holiday season.

Supplies:
Katie Label Pivot - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs - retired)
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up*
Washi tape
Red, white and brown card stocks
Black glaze pen - Sakura
Prismacolor pencils
scrap of gingham paper
Signo white gel pen
Tree die and stamps (Stampin' Up)
Stitched circle die - MFT Stamps

Card size - 4-1/4 x 6"

Teal Pop-Up Birthday Card

Good morning friends

Today's share uses a combination of both old and new supplies. All the card pieces were in my 'In Progress' bin. It was pretty much finished a long time ago and just needed a greeting. Who knows what interrupted me at that time, and why I didn't leave the card out on my stamping table to finish.

The patterned paper panel has a label cut from the centre, then it is popped up with foam tape on a white panel. I like that shadowbox look and will have to remember to try it again.

Inside I used the Lorna Label Pop-Up, which sadly has been discontinued. It was one of my favourites so I continue to use it though. The trees and birds (stamps and dies) I've had for several years, and the patterned paper for a lot longer than that.

I used some of Karen Burniston's Word Set dies for the 'Hello' on the front, and 'Happy Birthday' inside.

This one went into my box to donate to Seniors Secret Service.

Supplies:
Teal textured card stock
White and black card stocks
Lorna Label Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Stitched Journal Card - Lawn Fawn
Tree & Bird stamps & dies - Sizzix
Wink of Stella
Outdoor Edges, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - stash

"Fleas Navidad" Pull Card

Good morning friends

I'm kind of excited this morning, as today we are all going over to my brother's for our Christmas Eve dinner. He found out he had to work on Christmas Eve and was very disappointed as he really enjoys hosting this dinner every year. Thankfully today worked for everyone so he moved the date this year. It's our big holiday meal as Christmas Day is always at our house and very casual with nibbles and appetizers.

Onto today's share - I had been having fun with this older Paper Smooches stamp set so used it again here with Karen Burniston's (discontinued) Oval Pull Card.

The slot at the top holds the card closed, but when you pull the sides apart you see there is an arm that the mouse, cheese and gift are attached to and they slide across the inside. It's just a little slide, but movement on a card is always fun.

Couldn't resist adding a sleigh - I adore this sleigh from the Sleigh Pop-Up set! You can fill it with all kinds of things, too.

My posts for the next week will be scheduled, so I can enjoy time with friends and family.

Supplies:
Oval Pull Card - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - DCWV
Red, white card stocks
Copic Markers
Black glaze pen - Sakura
Fleas Navidad stamps - Paper Smooches
White gel pen  Sakura
Stitched rectangle - Lawn Fawn

Feathers & Leaves Pop-Up Thanksgiving Card

Good morning friends

When I pulled out some fall themed papers, I found this package that had one full sheet, a few stickers left and lots of scraps in it. Well - time to use all that up!! I did make a couple of quick and easy cards that I'll post another day, then this one to use a bunch of the pretty leaf print scraps.

Because of the button, this will likely have to be one I hand deliver or add a bit of foam inside the envelope. But it just seemed to need the button! I went over the embossed feather lines with a glaze pen so they catch the light.

Inside I used an older (retired) Karen Burniston die - the Lorna Label. I made a Double Lorna, and managed to use several of the stickers from the sheet too!

Love those stitched leaves. Last fall I realized I didn't have any wafer thin leaf dies so purchased these stitched ones from Lawn Fawn. The blue ones here are cut from recycled packaging.

I love using things up from my stash - makes room for new goodies. :-)

Supplies:
Feather dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Twine
Button - Papertrey Ink
Brown, confetti, yellow, burgundy card stocks, and blue recycled packaging
Patterned paper & stickers - Echo Park
Sakura glaze pen
Lorna Label Pop-Up - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs - retired)
Stitched leaf dies - Lawn Fawn
Gift Thanks - Hero Arts
Brown fine point marker
Banner punch - Stampin' Up

Christmas Tree Pivot Card

Good morning friends

I have a holiday pivot card to share today, using Karen Burniston's older Evergreen Pivot die set and patterned paper from Stampin' Up.

The decorator dies come with openings for embossing or stencilling, I used them here with a white gel pen to decorate the tree layers.

When the card is opened, the trees pivot to the inside.

While it's hard to see in the photos, I also added gold foil papers and Peel-Off's.

Into my holiday card stash with this one!

Patterned paper - Stampin' Up

Wobbly Bat Halloween Card

Good morning friends

Last season I had been working ahead on my Halloween cards for this year, which is why the photos are water marked with my old blog. Midnight the Bat is one of Karen Burniston's older licensed products, but he is SO cute I can see me continuing to play with him.

Midnight has wiggly eyes, sparkly ears and bow tie and is perched on an Action Wobble so he bobs and wobbles around on the card.

On the inside, I added some doodles and stickers as well as a strip of patterned paper and one of Karen Burniston's Ravens from her older Pop it Ups Halloween collection. This one comes from the Iron Fence Pop-Up but if you like raven images like I do, two of them come in Karen Burniston's Halloween Scene available at www.karenburniston.com

Supplies:
Black, white, orange, purple card stocks
Xyron
Wink of Stella
Sakura Gel Pen
Stickles
Glaze Pen - Sakura
Patterned paper - Doodlebug
Mini Action Wobble
Wiggly eyes
Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Halloween Anita Frames Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

Ooooh, this patterned paper was on the Clearance Rack at Stampin' Up and I couldn't resist. LOVING the soft patterns in the package and of course I wish I'd purchased more than one.

I used the pumpkin from Karen Burniston's Halloween Elements, die cut labels and lacy peel-off stickers that always make me think of spider webs for Halloween.

I really like this older Pop-Up die by Karen Burniston. Even though it has been discontinued through Elizabeth Craft Designs, I have my fingers crossed it could be re-released with her new company and partnership. I'm talking about the Anita Frames Pop-Up. So much OOOOOOOH in this pop-up! when the card is opened!

I actually cut the patterned paper on the front wider, and wrapped the edges around to the inside. Then I added more die cuts from the Halloween Elements die set.

It always amazes me when you can get this much dimension in an A2 card. Just wow!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Anita Frames Pop-up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Black, white and orange card stocks
Green markers
Chalks - Stampin' Up
1279 Peel Off Border - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies - MFT Stamps
Sakura Glaze pen
