September Sheetload Birthday Cards (2nd round)

I had intended on posting this yesterday, but once again the day got away from me. This is my 2nd play with the September Sheetload and I think the cards turned out so cute! I can see me using this one again and again as you can really change up the look depending on what you add as your decorative element.

I did some stamping and colouring for mine - four of the card have this cute chick (MFT Stamps) and four have a hamster in a cupcake wrapper (Your Next Stamp)

Inside I added a sentiment from the Birthday Chicks stamp set and they all have a punched banner to bring a little colour inside.

Cactus Card Duo

Earlier this month I shared four 5x7” Pop Up cards (see HERE) and there were some leftover pieces of the patterned paper. I made these two A2 sized Birthday cards (as well as a 5x7” Get Well card that I will share another day).

The cactus stickers were adhered to white card stock with glue, since they are older and they were losing their adhesive. Then I fussy cut them out so I could layer with them foam tape.

The cute polaroid frame is another older die (from Your Next Stamp). I cut a slightly smaller piece of white card stock than the frame then added some blue with a blending brush and blue ink. That was adhered behind the frame to visually anchor the stickers and the frame was matted with turquoise card stock.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Both cards have already been sent off to friends who were celebrating birthdays!

Leafy Paper Pumpkin Birthday Cards

I've been picking away at my stash the past year, trying to use some of it up. I have several unfinished Paper Pumpkin kits as well, so I pulled out this one - On My Mind from July 2019. I made these three cards using items from the kit, but then added some humorous stamps inside.
There were only 2 of the coordinating envelopes left, so one card gets a plain white envelope. 😊

The stamp below was used in two of the cards, because I'm always turning down the music if a complicated intersection or merge is coming up. 😂😂😂

Into my stash with these ones, although I do know who two of them will go to.

Princess Pop-Up Birthday Card

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog! Today I'm sharing the pop-up card I made for our granddaughter's birthday. I haven't purchased any new stamps, dies, paper etc in the last year, instead going through and trying to use up some of my huge stash. This Disney themed paper I've had for several years so I pulled it out for her card.

I added some Stickles glitter glue on the flowers etc, and added a little die cut cupcake and stamped sentiment banner on the front.

Inside, I used Karen Burniston's Raising Platform Pop-Up as well as her cupcake dies from the Cupcake Add-On set. Since I love sparkle on a birthday card, several of the pieces were die cut from rainbow holographic cardstock which really catches the light.

Patterned paper - Disney Princess

Four Rainbow Birthday Cards

This is a cutting layout I came up with, to use two 12x12" patterned papers for four 5x7" cards.  Since I continue using what I already have in my craft room, this will be a great way to go through my huge stack of patterned papers!

I added a quick wash of colour on die cut banners, so the puffy owl stickers would be 'grounded', and stamped the sentiment along the top edge of the banner. The banners were popped up with foam tape for some dimension. Oh, and the patterned paper has random glittered areas so that's always fun for a birthday card.

Inside, I added two separate stamps in different colours, and a little fishtail banner to bring in some colour to the inside.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Over the Rainbow, Recollections (old, from my stash)
5x7" card bases & envelopes
Banners Crosshatch - Karen Burniston
Happy Birthday To You stamp - Cool Tag Banner Sentiments, Your Next Stamp
Puffy Owl stickers - The Paper Studio (old, from my stash)
Water brush
Happy Birthday Sentiments (for the inside) - Pink Fresh Studios

Holiday Dog Card

I guess this will be my last holiday card share for the year and it's the card I made for our veterinarian. We love her, and her clinic staff. I had also ordered them a Christmas gift back in November, which ended up shipping the day before Canada Post went on strike. So the package is sitting somewhere and hopefully it will turn up one day.

Gifts for our daughters were in the same package, so I'm not impressed. Also not impressed that I didn't get to mail my Christmas cards. The strike is 'over' (postponed until the Spring) so I could actually mail then now. But with the backlog of mail in the system already, and potentially grumpy workers that were forced back to work - I am not taking a chance with my hand made cards getting lost or not delivered until the middle to end of January.

Anyhow, since this card would be hand delivered, I ended up making a 6" square card and was able to use up two 6x6" panels that were in this older paper pad. The stamped images are by Your Next Stamp.

One more look ...

Since I'm still trying to build up my Nursing Home Donation Card stash, I pulled out an older Sheetload and even older patterned paper for these six cards. It's the February 2020 Sheetload and I have used it multiple times.

The sentiments were stamped on leftover strips of cardstock then I added a stitched star cut from black card stock. Six more cards done!

New Years Magic Iris Card

Today I'm sharing the 12th and final edition to my monthly series "Magic Iris Cards" and this one is a card for the New Year. I used some cloud themed patterned cardstock for the decorative panel,, the scalloped piece and the iris 'arms', and also gold heat embossed the bursts onto the front panel.

When you slide down the lever on the right side, the arms open to reveal the gold heat embossed sentiment. So fun! I have really enjoyed using this die set over the past year and even though I won't be continuing the monthly series I will continue to use this set.  The numbers and CELEBRATE dies are by Karen Burniston and I added gold sequins for additional sparkle.

I didn't really have a stamp that would work inside, so I ended up just handwriting the greeting. I also added gold Peel Off border stickers to the inside panel for a little more shine.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Hanukkah Tags

Last year I bought a Hanukkah paper package by Photo Play and there was a 12 x 12" sticker sheet included. I didn't come up with a use for the eight number stickers but this year I decided to add them to tags for our daughter to use on Hanukkah gifts for our grandkids.

Then I made another eight tags and used up some of the smaller stickers on the sheet. These were quick and easy but not something she can easily buy so I hope she has fun with them. I also added strips of patterned paper from the package, narrow gold tape and some gold circle stickers for a little sparkle.

Pop Up Christmas Card Duo

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and Happy December 1st!  As I have always done in December - I'll be sharing holiday cards right up until Christmas. Still, this is my 12th and final edition to my monthly series "12 Months of Christmas".  Today I'm sharing a pair of 5 x 7" cards - one has a simple box pop up and the other uses the Paper Frames Pop Up die set by Karen Burniston.  In the photo above you can see the fronts of both cards.

In the photo below you see the insides!  (Sorry for the bad lighting - these photos were not allowing me to do much editing.)

Both cards are nice and simple on the fronts, letting that adorable patterned paper do all the work. I matted the panels with coordinating patterned paper from the same package, added some glitter and gold snowflake stickers as well as a stamped sentiment popped up with foam tape.

The first card has a simple box pop up inside. I have several tutorials on YouTube showing how to make these (Click HERE to see one) and I used a cut apart from a sheet in the package as the decorative element inside.

The second card is actually on a Kraft card base instead of a white one - both cards have matching envelopes.

I fussy cut a couple of snow people from a sheet in the package with borders of these snowmen to decorate the inside. I love all the dimension you get with the Paper Frames Pop Up!

Whenever I give someone a card that uses the Paper Frames Pop Up, they turn it over to view it from the top ... so here is a top view photo for you. 😊

Four Birthday Cards

Last year I went through this 12 x 12" paper pad (called Neapolitan by Dear Lizzy) and decided to finish it off. I made a bunch of birthday card fronts, as they are much easier to store if it's just the front panel but quick to adhere to a card base when I'm ready to use them. The trouble is, I keep forgetting I have them. Ha. I pulled out a bunch and got the cards finished and donated to my Mom's old nursing home. Here are four of the ones I made and I will share the others in the coming weeks.

The paper pad had several sheets of polaroid style prints and I also used the Polaroid Frame die from Your Next Stamp. The floral elements were fussy cut from one of the papers, as were the letters for SMILE in the card below. Or maybe some were stickers from a sheet that was included. Honestly these were done so long ago I can't remember!

I was in no hurry to make the cards, and just had fun cutting papers and assembling the card fronts. Because the cards are hand delivered to the residents I didn't need to worry about bulk from foam tape or extra postage.  There were lots of smaller pieces in the paper pad from previous projects and I layered them onto the cards as well.

Below is a look at the inside - all four were done the same.

Platform Pop Up with Goats

This card is the September edition of my monthly series "Platform Pop Up" Cards and was the birthday card I made for our eldest daughter. The goats were coloured to mimic her two goats - Clover & Thistle. Our Grandson was staying here when I was making the card and he was so excited about those goat stamps, and that they could be coloured to look like their goats. 🥰.

The barn die is from Your Next Stamp and the size was perfect to add to the Platform Pop Up. I also added a punched cloud on the backing piece. I wasn't sure I would use that Add On, and resisted it for a long time. But I did snag it when there was a sale and I do like using it - but I especially like that I can make the Platform Pop Up without it if I choose.

Below is the back of the card and where we signed our names. I added a black Peel Off sticker for the sentiment. The little banner was die cut from white and coloured with markers before attaching to the card and I liked the pop of colour they provided.

I'm always happy with how flat these cards fold down for mailing - but we hand delivered this one.

Four Simple Ice Cream Birthday Cards

These cards were quick and easy to make using patterned paper. If we are camping or visiting Arizona I will bring some things to work on. Often I will create just the card fronts, as it saves space for packing and then I can mount the panels to card blanks when we get home. That is what happened with these cards but they never did get mounted. I pulled the panels out of my 'in progress' bin and adhered them to the card bases this month.

At the time I must have thought I would add an ice cream element or other decoration to the front, but when I got them mounted I thought they looked nice and cheerful on their own. I'm sure the nursing home residents will enjoy them as most people like ice cream. Plus, there is some sparkle from the sticker gems.

The card interiors are all the same.

Final Birthday Card Group

Over the past couple of weeks I've been sharing Birthday Cards made with cut-aparts (or journal cards) that were cut from a couple of 12 x 12" sheets. This group is the last of them but actually the first group that I made. Ha - I rarely post things in the same order I make them.

I added coordinating patterned paper to the card bases, matted the cut-aparts then popped them up with foam tape. Most of them already had a sentiment or greeting printed on them but for those that didn't, I added one on a fishtail banner like the photo below.

I was so happy with how these cards turned out - they are nice and cheerful for the nursing home residents and I enjoyed putting them all together. Win Win! I have several months of donation cards done ahead now, so I can go back to doing a few here and there to keep up.

Mini Slimline Birthday Trio

Welcome to Masculine Card Monday here on my blog. Last month I shared a group of cards using this 6x6" patterned paper and showed in the video that I only had three strips left until I had used up the whole pad. Well - here are the three cards I made with those leftover strips!

I added some coordinating card stock strips from my scrap bin, then added this fun elephant (Your Next Stamp). The cakes and eyes are raised and shiny because I added Nuvo Glaze to them. Below you can see the inside of the cards which are all the same. These cards will also be donated to my Mom's old nursing home.
