Tweet Warm Wishes Bookbinding Card

Your Next Stamp is having an Instagram Hop with the theme of 'Winter Wonderland'.

I have wanted to try a Bookbinding card for awhile, now, so made my first one for this hop. There are only a couple of sheets left in this 6 x 6" patterned paper and I was able to use almost one full sheet and most of the second one on this card. I'm really hoping to use it up this year!

I chose the Tweet Warm Wishes stamps with Coordinating dies to feature on my card, adding some snowflakes with the YNS Snow Flurries stencil. The scalloped rectangle and sparkly gumdrops are also from Your Next Stamp.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Here are more details on the Instagram Hop
hope you can hop along there and

Peaceful Cabin Christmas Card

Hello!  I'm sharing another holiday card using the Peaceful Cabin bundle that I purchased from Stampin' Up. I loved it as soon as I saw it and have really enjoyed using it for my cards this season.

This card is sized 4-1/2 x 6", so larger than A2 and fits in a standard A6 envelope. I love this size of card! After lightly stencilling the snowflakes onto the white panel, I embossed it for some additional texture. While that snowflake stencil is no longer available, I also have others and linked those for you below.

Sunflower & Hello Pop Up Card

Hello! This is another of my Paper Pumpkin Alternate cards, using the June Paper Pumpkin kit (the yellow card base and pretty leaf printed vellum). Since it's is also Fun Fold Friday on my blog, this a pop up card.

The sunflower die was cut from white card stock and I added the colour with dye inks and blending brushes, adding Stickles inside the centre of each bloom. My right arm is still giving me some grief (tendonitis) so I have been keeping my comments to a minimum. I'm happy to say it is starting to improve, so less typing and video editing is definitely helping.

Here is a peek at the inside. I used patterned papers and Karen Burniston's Mini Pops for the Pop Up, and added the Thinking of You (also from Karen Burniston and linked below), and a butterfly into the lower corner.

For your convenience I have linked many of the products I used below. Some may be affiliate links which means if you use these links to purchase I may earn a small commission but there is NO extra cost to you.

Additional Supplies:
June Paper Pumpkin kit, Explosion in Color - Stampin' Up
Green card stock
Shimmer Spray
Water Colour Wings (butterfly die) - Stampin' Up (retired)
1/4" Quick Strips - Stamp Market
Patterned Paper - Brights 6 x 6", Stampin' Up

Pop And Flip Card for Spring

Hello!  Your Next Stamp is having a Fun Fold Series with the Design Team sharing ... Fun Folds! I was really excited about this challenge since I'm all about Fun Folds. There has been a popular one on social media recently called a Pop And Flip so I wanted until this challenge to make one. I have a walkthrough of the details on YouTube:

The 'Oh, Deer' stamp set is seriously cute! I paired it with the Stitched Puffy Clouds and the Grass Edge Die (all by Your Next Stamp) and some old punches from my stash.

As I mentioned in the video, I wasn't crazy about this one so I won't be doing a tutorial. I will link two videos below though, so you can try this Fun Fold if you wish. Lots of people like it and lots of people are making them!

The Stamp Doc
Note, she calls it a Pop Up Flip Card. LOL - that is the one thing I notice about Stampin' Up tutorials - they have different names for a lot of the popular folds.

Dawns Stamping Thoughts
NOTE:  I've long been a subscriber to Dawn's channel. She has great card ideas and tutorials.

April 2020 Paper Pumpkin - Second Card Group

Hello! Today I'm sharing my second group of Paper Pumpkin Alternate cards using the April 2020 kit called "My Wonderful Family". I had found an online listing for an unopened kit and really enjoyed using it! I have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube as well:

The kit came with four Offset Gatefold Card Bases and four Z Fold Card Bases. This first card uses one of the Z Fold Card Bases. While the green print on the right side was on the card base (it matches the envelope) I added some of 'That Paper' since the colours worked so well.

I used the negative piece from the punched out leaf sprig as a stencil for the envelope.

The birds, sprig and label all came included in the kit.

My second card is also a Z fold card, but decorated completely differently! I used several of the included stamp sets but the 'You Are On My Mind' and the bear are stamps from the December Paper Pumpkin kit.

Below is the card fully open.

Card #3 uses the last of the Z Fold Card Bases, and for this one I added a scalloped rectangle on the left fold with a layered succulent.

I had been running low on Sympathy Cards, so this one is for my stash.

My final Paper Pumpkin Alternate card used the last Offset Gatefold Card Base and the layout was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Elizabeth Price. For this card I rotated it to be a top fold card and adhered the bottom Gatefold flap right to the inside back of the card. That way the leafy sprig could overhang it for a nice detail.

I added touches of glitter to the centre of the pale flowers that were printed on the top Gatefold flap.

Below is a peek at the inside of the card.

The kit came with enough supplies to create eight cards with coordinating envelopes, and that is what I did. Because I did my own thing rather than follow the included directions I have quite a few extra bits leftover for other projects though! A few of the birds, butterflies tree trunks and leafy sprigs will all be making their way onto future cards.

"Soaring By" Mini Slimline Card

Hello! I knew I wanted to put this cute parrot onto an Action Wobble as soon as I opened the new release package from Your Next Stamp. So that is the first thing I did with it! After stamping on water colour paper with YNS Black Olive Ink I die cut the parrot with the coordinating die. I added the colour with Karin Water Color markers and a waterbrush.

Next I die cut a second parrot - just with the die, no stamping - and adhered that one behind the stamped and coloured one. I find the Action Wobbles can leave a mark on your image because of the heavy plastic they use to make them and doubling up prevents this from happening. If I don't have a die to cut a second image, I will add a scrap of card stock to the back of whatever stamped image I'm going to adhere to the wobble to give me that double layer of card stock that will be over the plastic on the wobble.

The sentiments were white heat embossed on black card stock and matted with the same turquoise as the card base. I adhered one to the card front and the second part of the sentiment on the inside.

I added a bit of stencilling to my envelope and this card is ready to go in the mail ... I'm still sending out lots of Happy Mail!

March 2021 Sheetload of Cards

Hello! YAY - it's time for another Sheetload of Cards and this month's sketch is another winner.  It yields nine cards and calls for two 12 x 12" sheets of patterned paper. I have linked Call Me Crafty Al's video below, where you can download your Sheetload of Cards sketch  & cutting guide. I am one of the Sheetload of Cards YouTube collaborators and I have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube

Today is the day all of the collaborators (YouTube, Blogs, Instagram) are sharing their creations and I can't wait to see what they came up with. It's so fun to see how each of us use our own supplies and create cards that are so different from each others. I will have their information linked below as well.

All of my cards are Birthday Cards that will be donated to my Mom's old nursing home. I used my MISTI stamping tool to quickly stamp both birthday sentiments at a time onto the die cut circles so that made things go quite fast.

All of the cards are the same inside, with a stamped greeting on a white panel that had been punched with the Sprig Punch.

Because I wanted to share an alternate - the Sheetload of Cards come with measurements for creating a single card if you choose - I made a boy's Birthday card for my stash.

It's fun to change up the sketch to work for your needs and supplies!

Here is a peek at the inside of my alternate:

January 2021 Paper Pumpkin - Second Group of Alternates

Hello!  Today I'm sharing my second set of alternates using the January Paper Pumpkin kit. I have a video showing all the details of my cards on YouTube here:

This first card is a Valentine Slimline that is also a Pop Up. The pretty doily's were a gift from my Stampin' Up Demonstrator and I was able to use several of them on my Paper Pumpkin alternates.

Inside is the Pop Up, and I added three more doily's inside. I quite liked the way the hearts look stamped on the doily!

The 'white' doily's are actually the back side of the red ones. I added them to the card with thin foam tape and I was happily surprised by the peach toned shadow the overturned doily's throw onto the card.

I have 10 of these envelopes - and I like them but to actually use them to go through the mail I would have to either seal them and add the address & postage on the back, or add a label over the cello window. This card is for my hubby for Valentine's so the envelope works great for that.

These next two cards are pretty much the same, and I made them for Happy Mail and not Valentine's Day. I really liked these mailbox images they included and wish there had been more than four of them in the kit.

I added a stamped 'hello', puffy stickers and the cute snail from the stamp set.

Inside I made a simple box pop up that features a stamped sentiment and fussy cut letters.

And the final card uses some of the red patterned card base from the very first card I shared in my last video. I had cut the red patterned card base in half, and used the front of it on that card but saved the remaining to use for 'bits and pieces' on the remaining cards.

This card also has a pop up inside - the exact same box pop up I used on all the other pop up cards. I will have to work on a tutorial this month! This one has a die cut heart on the pop up, a laser cut doily and the stamped snail. The snail has black glaze pen on it's eyes and Wink of Stella on the shell.

All in all I made eight alternate cards! I still have items left from the kit, including the great stamp set and ink spot that I can use over and over again. I have  two red envelopes and two full card bases, one with the red print and one with the peach and over half of the enamel shapes. I have all of the dimensionals included as I mostly used thin foam tape for dimension. The supplies so far have been very generous.  I have one of the Love word elements, several of the peach labels and a pair of the black scalloped borders. Oh, and most of the black ribbon as well, so I expect I will get at least 3 more Pop Up cards made with the kit supples. I have more than enough Valentine cards now, so putting it aside for the time being and will finish off the supplies later this month.

Sending Hugs Slimline Card

Hello! Today's card uses more of that pretty patterned I received as a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from Marilyn W back in November. I am enjoying USING the paper and not leaving it sitting on a shelf.

I had used this wreath die on a holiday card last month and mentioned that I really didn't use it much since it was too big for a Slimline card and almost too big for even an A2 card. But since I had it out anyhow, I had this idea to just use partial wreath's on a Slimline instead of the full wreath and this is what I came up with!

In the video of that Christmas Wreath Trifold Card (click HERE to see that card) I mentioned that I had got the wreath out as I had been eyeing the wreath die set from Stampin' Up but knew that I had this die and didn't use it very much and wondered if I really NEEDED another wreath die. Well, I caved and bought that set and now that I have used this older one a couple of time I am ready to play with the new set ... guilt free. 😉

I am trying really hard not to just 'collect' Slimline dies - but this one from Rubbernecker has such a nice edge detail I did order it and I'm really glad I did. It's just lovely! I die cut the ECD wreath twice from the dark teal card stock and added one to each edge of the Slimline card, snipping off the parts that overhung the edges.

Here is a peek at the inside:

I added just a touch of light stencilling to the inside and there was lots of room to write my message when I mailed this card.

Supplies:
Wreath Die - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - Eucalyptus, Paper Studio
Card stocks - stash
Slimline Teardrop die - Rubbernecker
