Mini Slimline Pop Up Card for St. Patricks DayI

Sadly, I didn't get this card in the mail in time - so I guess I'll be hanging onto it til next year. I had to have oral surgery this week and the pain meds have sent me for a loop. Ha - but I'm recovering well and starting to wean off the meds. I sure didn't get much done except rest and snooze - which I'm sure helped the healing process.

Anyhow I used one of Whimsy Stamps Slimline papers for my card as well as some really old stickers from my stash. They were adhered to white card stock & fussy cut so I could pop them up with foam tape. I also added some gold peel off stickers for some sparkle.

You can probably tell how much I love Karen Burniston's Twist Flower Pop Up die set, which is what I used here. A few more stickers as well as some washi tape inside. The sentiment iwas matted on rainbow holographic card stock. The tiny hears were also cut from that same card stock for a different project and the leftovers were sitting on my stamping desk. I added a few of them on the card.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Slimline St. Patricks Day, Whimsy Stamps
Stickers - old, from my stash

Twist Flower Pop Up - Karen Burniston
Washi tape - Doodlebug Designs

St. Patrick's Day Mini Slimline Card

I knew I wanted to try using 'THAT paper**' to create a St. Patricks Day card and I'm happy I did! Starting with a green card base, I die cut the patterned paper** with a die from Taylored Expressions then backed the windows with a strip of white cardstock.

The Shamrock (Riley & Company) was cut from a scrap of a glossy green cardstock and I filled the openings with Nuvo Glaze topped with chunky glitter. The sentiments are also from Taylored Expressions.

Inside I added Karen Burniston's Happy St. Patrick's Day and added some shadowing to the lower part of the words with a marker. Before adhering it to a white panel, I added some blue ink with a blending brush. I like the way it lt looks behind a word die.

** THAT paper is from Hobby Lobby, and was used so frequently by a card designer called Bette Manning that the Facebook Group called Stamp Junkies just started referring to it as 'THAT paper'. We don't have Hobby Lobby in Canada, but a lovely lady sent me some as a Random Act of Kindness so I could join in and play as well. I absolutely love this paper and she sent me enough sheets that I don't even have to hoard it! (Thanks again Marilyn!!)

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards
February - 56 cards
March so far - 24 Cards

Additional Supplies:
White cardstock
Green glossy cardstock - recycled packaging
Scrap of pale green cardstock
Alcohol markers
Green cardstocks
Eucalyptus paper - the Paper Studio
Chunky glitter - stash

Platform Pop Up Card for a St. Patrick's Day Birthday

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and I'm sharing the third edition to my series "Platform Pop Up". Every year I make my friend Kelly a St. Patrick's Day birthday card so this one went to her.

I used a Slimline Paper pad by Whimsy Stamps and elements from Doodlebug for the card. I love the happy colours and touches of gold foiling on the elements.

Adding that stitched rectangle to the back helps stabilize the elements as well as giving me a place to write a personal message.

The whole thing folded flat to pop into a envelope for mailing.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards

Mini Slimline Cards for St. Patrick's Day

I actually made these cards last year, as I like to send the grandkids cards for St. Patrick's day as they love happy mail. But I often run out of time to get them made and in the mail so this year I am ahead of the game. Ha. I pulled out a Slimline patterned paper pad from Whimsy Stamps, some puffy stickers ($ Store) from my stash and this is what I came up with.

There are SO many elements in those Odds & Ends packages by Doodlebug ... it was fun going through the package and adding some to my cards. Two of the cards are Pop Up's made with a folded cardstock strip.

Lots of sparkle and shine from the gold foiling on the stickers and ephemera, and I added gold  Peel Off stickers too.

Late last year I was asked how many cards I make but I didn't have a clear number. Since many of my posts include more than a single card or project, I thought it would be fun to keep track this year.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards
February so far - 55 Cards

Additional Supplies:
3D Stickers - Dollar Store, old from my stash
Gold circle Stickers - Dazzles
White cardstock
Shamrock Washi tape - Doodlebug
Green fine point markers

St. Patrick's Day Slimline Card Duo

I am late posting these cards, as our internet has been on the blink. They were supposed to send someone to fix it this afternoon, so I was just going to wait and post after our internet was up and running again. Well nobody showed up and now they won't be here until Sunday. So I'm hot spotting with my iPhone and using data to get this done. AARRGGHH - so frustrating!

Both of these cards started with the St. Patricks Day Slimline paper pad, and I added ephemera elements from Doodlebug and lots of stickers from my stash.

The first card is a Pop Up using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop Up and a stamp from Riley & Company.

For the second card I trimmed down the Slimline panel and added it to an apple green folded card.

The shamrock dies on the inside of my cards are also from Riley & Company - their Cut Up lines.

St. Patrick's Day Birthday Pop-Up Card

Hello my crafty friends. Every year I send my friend and teammate Kelly, a St. Patrick's Day Birthday Card because her Birthday falls on March 17th. 😊   This one is a 5 x 7" card, and I kept the front fairly simple since there's a lot going on inside! While I did film a walkthrough of my card, when I went to edit it it was mostly off-screen. So I deleted that video and just have a short one on YouTube so you can see the card 'in action':

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Little Label Pop Up as well as lots of Doodlebug Designs goodies. You know I'm a huge Doodlebug fan!

The rainbow strips are actually created by adhering rainbow packing tape onto white card stock. I love the look as there is a bit of shine but it is just thin packing tape and tends to stretch and buckle when you are working with it. Warning ... patience is required.

I really liked the gold foiled bits on the elements - perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

Leprechaun Pop Up Card

Hello my crafty friends.  Several years ago, I saw these St. Patrick's Day stickers at a dollar store and thought they would be cute on cards. Into the stash they went. And there they stayed. This year, I pulled them out again and decided to USE them. I didn't manage to use all of them, but I did make a good dent into the two packages I had purchased. This large Leprechaun was in one of the packages, so did some ink blending on a stitched scalloped panel and added that to a 5 x 7" card base. The (foiled and puffy) stickers were adhered with glue, since they are so old I didn't have any faith in the remaining adhesive.

Inside, I used the Katherine Label Pop Up by Karen Burniston to animate the Happy St. Patrick's Day & shadow (also KB), then added a few more stickers from the other package.

I added the additional shamrocks to the sentiment, cutting them from gold mirror card stock, and also used blending brushes to give the words an ombre look.

While I had everything out anyhow, I went ahead and made a couple of Mini Slimlines to send to the Grandkids, but I likely won't get them posted on my blog before St. Patricks Day. So ... I'll be saving them for next year. I used up most of the stickers at least! 😊

Pop Up St. Patrick's Day Card

Hello my crafty friends.  Today I'm sharing a Pop Up card for St. Patrick's Day that is also a Slimline card.  The front features Karen Burniston's new Happy St. Patrick's Day die (with shadow!) and a sweet image from Doodlebug Designs.

Inside, I created a simple box pop up to animate a few more of the elements from the same package.

HERE is a link to my tutorial on creating a simple box pop up - once you get the hang of it (it's so easy - I promise!) you can vary the measurements of the platform to work with the card size you are creating.

I liked the gold foil on some of the elements, so also added some gold circle peel-offs!.

St. Patrick's Day Slimline Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing a Slimline card for St. Patrick's Day that combines several different product lines from my craft room. I started with the Slimline paper and Slimline Cloud die from Whimsy Stamps for the card front, then combined Karen Burniston's new Good Luck Charms along with stickers. The Smile is from her Word Set 14 and I added gold gel pen highlights.

Last year I realized any shamrock dies I owned were quite small, so I ordered this one by Impression Obsession and have been waiting almost a year to use it! It's so pretty - especially when cut from green mirror card stock. I'm not able to link it in the thumbnails below, but I got it from R&R Scrapbooking in Edmonton AB and at the time I'm writing this post she still has it in stock. Click HERE if you are interested in it.

Here is a peek at the inside, with a sentiment stamp I have had for YEARS. This set from The Stamps of Life is one I pull out every year when I go to make St. Patrick's Day cards. 😊

Dangling Charms St. Patrick's Day Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing a Slimline card I made with the latest release from Karen Burniston. The new Happy St. Patrick's Day die cuts as a single piece and there is a shadow included as well as two shamrocks you can cut from a coordinating card stock and add on top of the ones that cut with the Happy St. Patrick's Day words. I cut the shadow from gold mirror card stock - which looks great in real life, but is nearly impossible to photograph.

After trimming down one of the Slimline papers from Whimsy Stamps, I die cut two Labels Crosshatch from it. One near the top edge and one near the bottom. The Good luck charms were die cut and assembled, then dangled behind the openings. This panel was then attached to a white card base and I further decorated the openings with metallic stickers.

The charms dangle and move around when you tilt the card - just another fun way to use the charms.

Inside I added one of the fallaway labels onto a larger gold one and a white panel to add a sentiment greeting.

... one more look ...
