Christmas Ornament Card Duo

Good morning friends

Last year my friend B came over for a play date and brought her Stampin' Up Ornament dies for me to try out. Um ... I wasn't really a fan, but then I didn't use the metal shim when I was cutting them. That would have likely helped. At any rate, I cut a couple to put aside to use on holiday cards.

I used this sweet scalloped card base and red patterned paper for the front ... the noel was cut twice from heavy white card stock, then adhered together to create a nice thick & sturdy word die.

Here is a peek at the inside:

Into my holiday card stash ...

Supplies:
Scalloped card base die - Sizzix
Ornament dies - Stampin' Up
White pearl card stock
Patterned paper - stash
White card stock
Words inside - MFT Stamps
Fine point tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Bow die - Stampin' Up
Noel - Lawn Fawn

C4C 383 Music Birthday Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our April 2017 Hostess is Frances Byrne (for the second month), and our Guest Designer is Kristine Reynolds.

Here is Kristine's Challenge: Tomorrow is International Jazz Day .... Include some for of music on your card. Music notes; inspired by a song; your favorite musican; music designer paper .... It's up to you!

I have been enamoured with Gate Fold cards lately, and had found this music print patterned paper while looking for something else in my stash. So that was the starting point for my card today.

I stamped the guitar and die cut it, then die cut 3 more from white card stock. Then they were adhered together to form a nice chipboard style embellishment.

Here is a look at the inside ...

Our Son In Law loves music, and teaches guitar so this will be a perfect birthday card for him.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C383

'Hamster Love' Valentine

Good morning friends

Today I'd like to share a 'Stashbuster card' made for Valentine's Day.  The square with heart and blue star paper, heart paper scrap, red card stock scrap and the journal card were from my stash or laying on my stamping area. Only the hamster & swirly scribble were made for the card front.

Last Spring (or maybe the Spring before that) I cut a bunch of stitched journal cards, and this one was in the pile.

A few more scraps used to decorate the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I love using things up!

Swirly Scribble die - Stampin' Up
Red card stock

I had one 12 x 12" sheet of this heart patterned paper and managed to use it all up on several cards. This is one of my favourite card layouts. The heart is from Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card - I've always loved the shape of that heart,

Love and Hugs Slider Card

Good morning friends

This was another fun card to make. I love Doodlebug Designs, and Joset's new Sliders, and the dog from Taylored Expressions. Put all three together and you have a cute interactive card!

The dog is a die that cuts the outer shape and the inner heart. I backed the open heart with red card stock, then stamped the dogs face. The set also has a pig, cow and an owl. For this card, the  dog spins and slides along the track.

I gave the sun glossy eyes and smile with a glaze pen.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Patterned paper and flower embellishment - Doodlebug

Balloons Birthday Card

Good morning friends

I had a small piece of this balloon print patterned paper leftover so decided to use it up and make a simple birthday card. The paper was double sided, so I used the pattern on the reverse for the semi-circle on the bottom.

The blue balloon was adhered with a mini Action Wobble, and the Bakers Twine secured under the celebrate banner.

On the inside, the balloons on the left were fussy cut from the last scrap of the paper.

Supplies:
Cream card stock
Blueprints #21 - MFT Stamps
Patterned paper - Jillibean Soup
Celebrate stamp - Hero Arts
White embossing Powder
Turquoise card stock
Balloon die - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Inside words - PTI

C4C-382 Teacup Hugs Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our April 2017 Hostess is Frances Byrne (for the second month), and our Guest Designer is Kristine Reynolds.

Here is Frances' challenge:  "Yesterday was Tea Day ... so for our challenge this week let's incorporate something Tea related on our cards .... Not into tea then what about coffee!"

This is a challenge that is right up my alley! I love tea (or hot tea as it's referred to in the far south) and tea cups.

I cut Joset's teacup from a pretty floral paper then added white accents. Loving these doily's from Stampin' Up so added one here, as well as scalloped ovals and a stitched fishtail banner. I recently purchased the ivy from Susan's Garden (ECD) and it's just the perfect thing to add a little bit of greenery here and there.

The hugs was cut 3 times, then stacked to make a thicker - almost chipboard - word element.

Finally, here is a peek at the inside.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C382

Southwest Themed Pull Card Trio

Good morning friends

I was so happy to see Joset's new designs at Elizabeth Craft Designs, I had to order some right away. Today is Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a trio of Pull Cards to share using the new ECD dies and the Rectangle Pull Card by Karen Burniston.

With three cards, this is a photo heavy post - be forewarned!

The first card uses these wonderful Arrow dies and some arrow print paper from my stash.

I used teal Soft Finish Card Stock, cream card stock and red Stardream - a lovely pearlized heavyweight card stock.

These stars are from a gift bag set that was sitting out on my stamping table. They just seemed to match so I decided to use them as well.

I left the card blank until I go to send the card.

The second card uses the same teal Soft Finish Card Stock, this time as the card base for the Rectangle Pull Card. It's such a lovely rich colour, and it's white on the reverse side. I'm actually on my second package of it!

The Dreamcatcher is another one of the new ECD dies - and oh, I'm in love with that one. On the right edge I added some of the negative pieces from the ECD diamond background die I'd cut for a different project.

Once again, I left the card blank and will add a greeting when I go to send the card.

I was so happy with the way this third card turned out. The zig-zag border and top feather were cut from gold foil card stock.

The border was a 'free with purchase' die from MFT Stamps last year and I'm having lots of fun with it. The little gold feather on the inside of this card is from the dreamcatcher die set.

Into my stash with these three cards. I can use them for masculine Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You or Father's Day cards etc etc.

Supplies:
Kraft card stock
Patterned paper - Studio Calico
Rectangle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Cream card stock
Red Stardream card stock

Arrow dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Stars (from the Zig Zag Bag) - The Stamps of Life
Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Dreamcatcher die - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Light Blue card stock scrap
Black card stock
Diamond Background (negative shapes)- Elizabeth Craft Designs

Copic Markers
Feather dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Peek-A-Boo Poppy Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

Today I have another card made with the Moda Scraps Poppy dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I am so glad I bought them - they've been fun to play with this week and I have some other ideas as well.

I used Karen Burniston's tutorial for the Lorna Label Pop-Up, which you can see on her blog HERE.

I was tickled to find this poppy print paper in my stash, and to see how well it paired with the Buttercream Soft Finish Card Stock.

I smudged the centres of the poppies with black chalk, then added white dots with a chalk pen.

Supplies:
Buttercream Soft Finish Card Stock - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Poppy dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Lorna Label Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Stitched Fishtail Banner dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Gold Poppy Card

Good morning friends

I'm back today with another card that uses the Moda Scraps Poppy die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I started the card with this pretty gold foiled marbled folded card. Using the ECD Stitched rectangles, I cut it into two panels and used one on the front & the other inside.  I love how the poppy looks cut from gold foil card stock!

The 'because die and stamp set' is from MFT Stamps and I think I'll get a lot of use out of it..

Tomorrow I'll have one more card to share using the Poppy dies.

Supplies:
Patterned A2 Card - DCWV
White card stock
Gold foil card stock - Stampin' Up
Poppy dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Because stamps and dies - MFT Stamps
Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Good morning friends

I have another card today made with the Poppy dies by Moda Scraps at Elizabeth Craft Designs. The card base for this one is a patterned A2 card and I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card die by Karen Burniston as well.

Like I did with yesterday's card, I added black Prills to the open poppy center.

The notches on the SCPC hold the card closed until you pull on the sides to open it. Inside I added a stitched heart, and the words Thinking Of You.

I will have another Poppy card to share tomorrow!
