Six Birthday Cards with Anchors & Shells

It’s Masculine Card Monday here on my blog and today I’m sharing six nautical themed cards made with some older paper in my stash. The sheets are nice and heavy weight and many have gold foil accents on them!  I used the February 2020 Sheetload of Cards for the cutting guide and basic layout but didn’t add any accents as I think the paper takes centre stage.

Here is a peek at the inside, with all of the cards being the same.

Supplies used:
February 2020 Sheetload of Cards, Call Me Crafty Al (on YouTube)
Patterned paper - Hey Sailor, DCWV (old, from my stash)
Happy Birthday Many Ways - Catherine Pooler
Inside sentiment - Better With Age, Penny Black

Red Balloon Birthday Card Trio

Using what I had left of a 12x12” birthday themed patterned paper sheet, I made these three cards. They are based on the February 2020 Sheetload of Cards, but I tilted the center panel rather than centering it.

The sentiment was stamped right on the 2nd patterned paper, and I added a large die cut balloon with foam tape. The white lines were done with a white paint pen and the movement lines and balloon strings were done with a fine point black marker. Finally, I added puffy balloon stickers and the card fronts were finished.

Here is a peek at the inside … all three were done the same.

Supplies used:

September Sheetload Birthday Cards (2nd round)

I had intended on posting this yesterday, but once again the day got away from me. This is my 2nd play with the September Sheetload and I think the cards turned out so cute! I can see me using this one again and again as you can really change up the look depending on what you add as your decorative element.

I did some stamping and colouring for mine - four of the card have this cute chick (MFT Stamps) and four have a hamster in a cupcake wrapper (Your Next Stamp)

Inside I added a sentiment from the Birthday Chicks stamp set and they all have a punched banner to bring a little colour inside.

September 2025 Sheetload of Cards

Today I’m sharing my first play with the September Sheetload of Cards - and I quite liked it. After I got these ones cut, I pulled out additional sheets from the same (really old) paper pad so I could make another set. I’ll share those another day.

These went into my Nursing Home donation bin - I have needed to build up my stock for them! The label and ice cream cone are older punches from Stampin’ Up and I aded a stamped sentiment as per the Sheetload sketch.

Inside each card is a two toned stamped sentiment and a little fishtail banner for a pop of colour.

Five Party Hat Birthday Cards

Earlier this month I shared a 5x7" Birthday card that used this double sided patterned paper (see HERE). I used the remaining piece and the measurements from the March '25 Sheetload of Cards to make these five birthday cards. This is my second play with that Sheetload and I know I will use it again!

Because the paper was double sided I was able to cut the pieces then flip the patterns around until I was happy with how they looked. I save the 1/2" strips of white card stock from when I cut down the card inserts (which measure 4 x 5.25") so that is what I used for the sentiment strips. I just fishtailed the ends with scissors and popped them up with foam tape.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

March Sheetload of Cards

Today I'm sharing my take on the March '25 Sheetload of Cards, which turned out to be stash buster cards. 😊  I actually made these the evening of the 1st when the Sheetload was released - and I was surprised at how quickly they worked up! I will be doing this one again soon ... I really like it!

I pulled out an older 6x6" paper pad and even older stickers for the cards. The sentiments are from Pinkfresh Studios - another set I've had for a long time and get a lot of use out of.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Flirty Florals (6x6") Q & Co
Happy Birthday Sentiments - PinkFresh Studios
Stickers - Dollar Store (old, from my stash)

Bright Birthday Themed Sheetload of Cards

Things were busy in the later part of 2024 so I didn't get a chance to play with the October Sheetload of cards. But I knew I wanted to try it and after making up these cards I can't wait to play with it again. It's another one designed for 6x6" patterned papers and I've had this pad for a couple of years.

I'm doing great at building up my Nursing Home donation card stash! Since I donate 25 birthday cards each month, when my stash is depleted I need to get working. That's why I'm sharing so many batch made birthday cards lately.

Here is a peek at the inside ... all of them are done the same. I used leftover bits and pieces in the paper package for the fishtail banners on the interiors so they coordinate but they don't necessarily match the papers on the card fronts.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Sweet Shop, Queen & Co (6x6")
Large Birthday - Technique Tuesday
Inside - LJD Birthday Greetings (MFT Stamps)
October 2024 Sheetload of Cards - Call Me Crafty Al

Trio of Birthday Cards

Welcome to Masculine Card Monday here on my blog! Today I'm sharing a trio of birthday cards I can donate to my Mom's old nursing home and once again they were inspired by the June 2021 Sheetload of cards. I had gone through this older 6x6" paper pad and the coordinating ephemera and made up little 'kits' that I could just pull out and assemble. A lot of the 'kits' used the June 2021 Sheetload of Cards which is a great one for using those 6x6" papers.

I just kept making up the 'kits' until the paper and most of the ephemera was gone, then I decided on card bases to add to the 'kits'. I've been picking away at the 'kits' and completing the cards.

Here is a peek at the inside - they are all done the same. I used my Mini Misti to make quick work of the stamping, which always helpful with a larger stamp.

Supplies used:
Hexagon punch - Stampin' Up
Sentiment inside - Birthday, Darkroom Door
Patterned paper - Let's Celebrate, Carta Bella (6x6")
Let's Celebrate Ephemera - Carta Bella

Set of Birthday Cards

I have had this patterned paper for YEARS, so it was fun to dig it out and make some Birthday Cards. I chose the February 2020 Sheetload of Cards for the sketch and cutting guide and then just rummaged around in my stash for the decorative element dies and stamps.

The swirly die is another oldie by Stampin' Up - I loved it back when it first came out in the catalogue and still love it. These ones were die cut from the same Kraft as the card base, then lightly inked with burgundy ink.

Below is a peek at the inside, with all the cards being the same.

Four Birthday Cards

I needed to make a pair of birthday cards for our nephew's twin girls, so pulled out this older 6x6" paper pad. I love it but tend to 'save it for special cards'. The cut aparts are just darling, and the balloons are embossed and shiny.

Basing my cuts on the June 2021 Sheetload of Cards, I made four cards - two of them will be donated to my mom's old nursing home and the two with the cut aparts will be popped into the mail. I added some sparkling peel off dots and glitter glue to make them a little extra special.

Here is a peek at the inside of one of the twins cards  ... I made them similar but not identical - just like they are!

Here is a look at one of the nursing home cards where you can see how pretty that balloon paper is.

Trio of Birthday Cards

I thought I was done with this 6x6" patterned paper pad, but apparently I had set aside 'kits' to work on later 😂   Most of those 'kits' used the June 2021 Sheetload of Cards for cutting the patterned paper & the intended layout. Since I'm also trying to use what I have, I pulled out these old felt stickers and added them to the cards on a die cut oval. The sentiments were stamped on card stock strips & popped up with foam tape.

All three of these cards will be donated to my Mom's old nursing home and I believe there are three more 'kits' for me to make up. I have to work at building up my nursing home card stash again, as after delivering the last ones I'm fresh out!

Supplies used:
Sentiment inside - Birthday, Darkroom Door
Felt stickers - from my stash, very old.
Birthday Wishes stamps - Honeybee Stamps
Patterned paper - Let's Celebrate, Carta Bella (6x6")
Let's Celebrate Ephemera - Carta Bella
Sentiment inside - Lots of Birthday2Stamp, the Stamps of Life

Sheetload Birthday Cards with Stars

Since I'm still trying to build up my Nursing Home Donation Card stash, I pulled out an older Sheetload and even older patterned paper for these six cards. It's the February 2020 Sheetload and I have used it multiple times.

The sentiments were stamped on leftover strips of cardstock then I added a stitched star cut from black card stock. Six more cards done!

Patterned paper - DooWop Diddly Wink. - the Paper Studio
Washi tape sentiments - Your Next Stamp
Star from Circle Charm Pop Up die set - Karen Burniston

Halloween Sheetload Cards

Since I like to work ahead on holiday cards and I had the bin of Halloween elements out anyhow - I decided to pull out a favourite Sheetload and make a batch of cards to have on hand for next year. The August 2021 Sheetload yields eight cards and I will need five of them for the grandkids. That leaves me three cards ahead to send to friends for Halloween 2025 😊

I pulled out some older Doodlebug patterned paper and got the card fronts all cut and assembled. Then I went through the elements and added the ones I thought worked with each card. Some got a punched white layer behind them so they would stand out more and most got a stamped sentiment.

Here is a peek the inside - I trimmed a strip of the patterned paper to add some colour inside, as well as a stamped sentiment.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Doodlebug Designs
3-D Stickers - old, from my stash
Label punch - Stampin' Up
Mini Strips Halloween, stamp and die - Taylored Expressions
Double Stitched Circle dies - Divinity Desigs
Resin stickers - Monster Bash - Stampin' Up
Sassy Pants Spooktacular - MFT Stamps

Sheetload Pop Up Birthday Card

I finished off another one of those July Sheetload of Cards** (that makes 7 finished out of 8) and I made it into a Pop Up birthday card for our daughter.  The front is pretty much the same as the others, I didn't add anything extra to it as all the fun is on the inside.

**I made all eight of the July Sheetload of cards, doing the fronts only. I wanted to take my time and finish off the insides for cards that I knew I would need coming up, rather than finish all eight at the same time. These ones will be for my stash and not donated to the nursing home as most of my Sheetload cards are.

The Lorna Label die set is a favourite of mine, and having these add ons make it even more so. This one uses the Happy Birthday Lorna Add-Ons. 😊

I still have one more card to finish off the inside ... but I haven't enjoyed this process as much as I thought I would. I think I'm just tired of the same card fronts and wish I had just finished them off all at once and been done. I'll likely leave that last one until the New Year now.

Second Set of Birthday Cards

Today I'm sharing the second set of Birthday Cards I made using a 6x6 paper pad & coordinating ephemera. You can see the first batch HERE if you are curious! (So far, I've made 8 cards)

I took a couple of evenings, cutting down the papers in the package to work with the June 2021 Sheetload of Cards (a favourite). I chose  ephemera to match and have them stored in a plastic bag. I know how busy things are going to get in the next couple of months, so I want to get a jump on my nursing home donation cards. This way I can just reach into the bag and pull out the pieces to quickly complete a couple of cards!

For the border strip, the sketch shows the patterned paper going right to the outer edge, I did that on some and on others I left a border.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Let's Celebrate, Carta Bella (6x6")
Let's Celebrate Ephemera - Carta Bella
Label punch - Stampin' Up
Sentiment inside - Birthday, Darkroom Door
