"You Matter" Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today we are sharing Sneak Peeks of the new release at Your Next Stamp, which will be available on Thursday. I have had SO much fun with this new release!  There is a chance to win a prize as well, so be sure to scroll all the way to the end of my post to see those details.

For my card today I chose a Slimline format, starting with a turquoise card base and then die cutting a white rectangle with a stitched rectangle die. I made puddles with three colours of Distress Oxide inks, one at a time, and dipped & dragged the rectangle through the puddles. I dried the panel with a heat gun in between colours and continued until I was happy with the panel. It reminded me of cotton candy!

The new Painted Shapes has got some great images - and I used a couple of them here on the coloured panel, embossing them with white embossing powder.  I really like that circle border stamp that is included and can see lots of uses for it!

I added Glossy Accents in the centre of the hearts and the O in YOU, and when I was setting the panel aside to dry overnight, I dropped it face down. AARRGGHH. But - not one to simply toss a card, I smoothed the Glossy Accents as much as possible and decided to go with the raggedy look which is similar to the painted shapes.

The 'You Matter' is from the new Positive Affirmations and it's another new set with some great sentiments in it.

I stamped that same circle border in coloured inks, and another sentiment from the Positive Affirmations. Compared to the watery colours on the front though, I felt the inside panel looked too stark. I used blending brushes to add some light ink colours to the white panel, but then the words looked too dull to me. Ha. It was a quick fix though, going over the letters with a black pen.

The little heart is included in the Positive Affirmations set and also has Glossy Accents in the centre. This time I was able to let it dry without mishap. Ha.

I will be sending this card off to someone for Happy Mail!

  7. That drop was meant to be because when I saw this card I immediately thought of finger paints. So it was fitting that the YOU may quite possibly holds a special embellishment from your fur babies. I love that!! πŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸ’Œ
