Pumpkin Pop 'n Swap Halloween Card

Hello crafty friends ...

I won't go into a lot of detail of how I made this card, as I have a walkthrough on my YouTube video HERE!

This was a fun card to make - and I managed to use up a bunch of older products from my stash!

Through the window, you can see a crow and a partial pumpkin ...

... which disappears as the card opens and the fun pumpkin duo appears!

While it might be hard to see in the photo, I did cover the mechanism arms with the same patterned paper as on the inside of the card which makes them 'hide' a little better. This is not a necessary step and I don't do it every time - but I did like it on this one.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Night & Fall, Recollections
Various card stocks - stash
1133 Pop 'n Swap - Karen Burniston
Scotch tape
Stickers - Sticko
Transparency/Acetate pieces
Bat confetti - stash
Embellishments - K & Company (old, from my stash)
Mini Strips Halloween - Taylored Expressions
Mini Strips Die - Taylored Expressions
Mini Strips Backer Die - Taylored Expressions
Bakers Twine
Border Peel Off - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Glossy Accents

Card size - 4-1/2 x 6", fits in an A6 envelope

Halloween Pivot Panel Card

Hello my crafty friends ...

I have a YouTube video showing a walk through of my card today, and you can find that HERE.

I have had these stickers in my stash for YEARS, and I was sure the adhesive was no longer strong enough to adhere them permanently. They were adhered to white card stock with wet blue, then fussy cut and popped up with doubled layers of card stock strips rather than foam tape.

For the pop up inside, I used the Gift Pivot Panel die set by Karen Burniston - upside down!

Supplies:
1115 Gift Pivot Panel - Karen Burniston
1013 Halloween Elements - Karen Burniston
1091 Border Blends Party - Karen Burniston
1058 Halloween Charms - Karen Burniston
Black and white card stocks
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up (retired)
Stickers - Hallmark (old, from the stash)
Sakura black glaze pen
Stitched Scalloped Rectangle - Your Next Stamp
Stitched Wavy Circle - Your Next Stamp
Black glossy card stock - Stampin' Up
W1 Copic Marker
Stitched Fishtail Banner die - Your Next Stamp

Eight Fall Leaf Masculine Birthday Cards

Hello crafty friends ...

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog! When I was poking around in my "In Progress' bin, I found an envelope with eight of these fall leaf paper panels. They were already matted with brown card stock and had been tied with the ribbon, and I think I must have started them one year to make Thanksgiving cards for my Mom but didn't get done. I decided to turn them into masculine Birthday Cards to donate to my Mom's old nursing home.

I made two of each design - and this one uses the trophy die from I-crafter's Best Dad die set cut from gold foil card stock.

I thought the owls would be fun - haven't used them in awhile!

I stamped the owl in brown ink, and only added colour to his eyes. Then I went over certain areas with a gold glitter pen, which gave the image some depth (and shimmer!) and added glossy accents to the eyes so they also shine. The star sequins were leftover from the August Paper Pumpkin kit and since they were still sitting on my stamping table I added a few to the cards.

These two have a vintage train image, as well as a fishtail banner with a few more gold stars.

The final two have a die cut gold foil label. When I pulled out the package of gold foil card stock to die cut the trophy's, these two labels were inside! They were obviously cut for a different project but never used.

I added a large orange leaf sprig behind the ribbon and labels, as well as two gold foil sprigs.

It was fun going through my stash and choosing what elements I would add to the cards. I did one pair each evening until they were all finished.

Supplies:
Various card stocks - stash
Tasteful Label dies - Stampin' Up
Ribbon
Patterned paper - unknown (these panels are many years old)
Best Dad (trophy) - I-crafter

Nuvo Glitter Pen - Tonic Stucios
Bonanza Buddies - Stampin' Up

Still Night Bundle, Stampin' Up

Rainbows & Zebra's Card Duo

Hello crafty friends ...

I haven't done a card with this layout in awhile and I was in the mood to make something bright and cheerful. The Zany Zebra's stamp set seemed the perfect compliment to the rainbow strips that I had angled across two card panels.

I stamped the zebras onto a stitched circle and coloured in their muzzles and hooves with a grey marker. I used an older Paper Pumpkin stamp set to stamp the Celebrate and the words inside, and added the panels to my card bases with foam tape. Then I put the cards on the table to take photos of the next day.

And I stood back and looked at them. Then I just couldn't leave the zebra's plain black and white!

I pulled out my Copic Markers and add rainbow stripes. Then I stamped a few stars from the Zany Zebra set and coloured those in as well. I was much happier with the cards after I'd added the colour.

Here is a peek at the inside, using the same Paper Pumpkin stamp set.

To create the rainbow strip, I used rainbow striped packing tape. I LOVE this tape, and have been adding it to white gift bags and along the bottom of tags etc. But it IS thin packing tape, and has a tendency to wrinkle and crease so patience is required.

These cards will be donated to my Mom's old nursing home, and I can see me doing them again in a few months. They are just so happy looking!

Supplies:
Rainbow striped packing tape - FCTRY
Zany Zebra's - Stampin' Up
Word stamps - Paper Pumpkin, May 2015 - Stampin' Up
Stitched Circle die - MFT Stamps
Copic markers
Various card stocks - stash

Card size - Standard A2 (4.25 x 5.5")

Sympathy and Birthday Card Duo's

Hello crafty friends ...

I have a video walk through of these cards for you on YouTube:

Note - now that 'they' have changed Blogger (grrrrrrr) I found that you couldn't see the videos from an iPhone. It just didn't show up. Nothing. WTH??? If you scrolled down to the bottom of the post on your phone screen and clicked 'view Web Version', the video showed up no problem. So I did some research and found out that now I have to go into the HTML and delete some code for the video's to show up on an iPhone. Come on, Blogger - how does this make things better for any of us? But thank you to those that shared their tip online!! And I will be checking this post from my iPhone in the morning to be sure it worked. Fingers crossed .......

Earlier this week I shared a Slimline card duo made using Stampin' Up's Forever Fern bundle and the Split Stamping technique recently shared by Jennifer McGuire. For these four cards, I started with two 8.5 x 5.5" panels of matte coated card stock and stamped the greenery right up the centre. Cutting the panels in half gave me 4 pieces to trim and layer onto my card front!

Since I went over the details in the video, I'll keep the comments here to a minimum. I made two Birthday and two Sympathy Cards, and below are the two sympathy cards.

I did add a bit of gold shimmer to one of the leafy die cuts, as well as some gold Glitter Dots. I don't like a lot of bling on a sympathy card but nestling those stickers among the greenery helps keep the focus on the sentiment.

Below are the two Birthday Cards. For these two I kept the leafy border at the bottom of the card and added some additional sparkle and sequins.

I die cut one of the 'wreaths' from the (retired) Swirly Scribbles die set from gold card stock, then snipped it in half and added one half to each card above the gold border strip.

Inside the cards are a stamped greeting, a pair of die cut leaves and I used the leftover piece of the gold foil border from the front.

Supplies:
Matte coated card stock
Forever Fern Bundle - Stampin' Up
Subtle Embossing folder - Stampin' Up
Gold foil card stock - Stampin' Up
1/4" Quick Strips die - the Stamp Market
Card stocks - my stash

Sympathy words - Stampendous

Floral Birthday Lever Card

Hello crafty friends ...

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and today I'm sharing a Lever Card.I have a walkthrough of my card on a YouTube video for you, since it's always more fun to see an interactive card 'in action'. (If you are on a device and can't see the video, click HERE).

I have had this double sided patterned paper for many years and normally would have chosen the reverse side to work with. But this day, the aqua & cream with bird print really appealed to me! I chose not to use any of the layering dies for the inside of my card so the patterned paper could shine.

I do enjoy using this Lever Card die set, and how sturdy the cards stand for display.

Supplies:
Various card stocks
Lever Card and Lever Card Layering Dies - Divinity Designs
Patterned paper - K & Company
Stitched Square die - Your Next Stamp
Tasteful Label Dies - Stampin' Up
Mini MISTI - My Sweet Petunia
Jar of Flowers stamps - Stampin' Up
Stickles
Rustic 'ribbon' - Stampin' Up
Sprig Punch - Stampin' Up
Hammie Happy Birthday (Happy Birthday) - Your Next Stamp
Water Brush
Verse - Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up
Gold Fever Confetti - Studio Katia

Slimline Forever Fern Card Duo

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing a Slimline card duo made using the Forever Fern bundle from Stampin' Up. I tried really hard not to purchase this bundle when it was first released, but I could not hold out any longer, ha ha. I love leaves and a set like this is a classic that can be used for years!

I pulled out some matte coated card stock, which behaves like glossy card stock but doesn't have the same shine. Then I decided to try Jennifer McGuire's technique of 'split stamping'. I took a double width of the card stock and stamped randomly up and down the very centre. Then I simply chopped it in half which gave me two panels with lovely leaves stamped down one side. For these cards, I rotated one so both would have the leaves coming from the left side.

Note, I did more than these two panels and those cards will be shared later this week.

Additionally I stamped a few of the leaves on some scrap card stock and cut them out with the coordinating dies then layered a cluster along with some die cut leaves from the bundle. A gold foil card stock strip as well as a few gold sprigs completed the cards. I made one a Birthday Card and one is a 'thinking of you'.

The Birthday card has a stamped sentiment inside and a few more stamped leaves while the Thinking of You card just has the leaves. I also stamped the leaves onto the envelopes to dress them up a little.

Supplies:
Matte coated card stock
Forever Fern Bundle - Stampin' Up
Gold foil card stock - Stampin' Up
Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline Dies - Kat Scrappiness
Thinking of You - Hero Arts (old)
Happy Birthday and words inside - The Inside Scoop, Taylored Expressions
Tasteful Label dies - Stampin' Up
Gold Fever Confetti - Studio Katia

Card sizes, both - 3.5 x 8.5", fits in a #10 Business Envelope

Diagonal Trifold Dog Sympathy Card

Hello crafty friends ..

Today I'm sharing the sympathy card I sent to a friend. I have a walkthrough of the card for you on a YouTube video! It doesn't appear that the video shows up if you are using a device, so here is a LINK to the video:  https://youtu.be/JdRyxkHB5JM

I hadn't used the Z-fold Die Set with Layers for awhile, so pulled that out along with some patterned paper from my stash. Note, I call this card a Diagonal Trifold Card, because to me it's not a Z Fold Card and calling it one here on my blog would just be confusing!

The white panel on the back is where I wrote a note to my friend.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - A Dogs Tail, Echo Park
Z Fold Die Set With Layers - Divinity Designs
Card stocks - stash
Simple Strips Woof - Taylored Expressions
Simple Strips Sympathy - Taylored Expressions
Simple Strips Die - Taylored Expressions

Stencilled Roses Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends ...

While I love using patterned paper on my cards, I do have a number of stencils that I thought I should pull out to play with. This is a new-to-me stencil because, well - I'm craving florals right now. I used my blending brushes to apply the colour, then a dots stamp to resemble splatter.

It's hard to see in the photos, but I also smeared Distress Stickles onto the flowers and some sparkly sequins for some Birthday Bling.

I also stencilled lightly on the envelope and inside the card, and ended up getting another (lighter) card panel when I cleaned the stencil over white card stock! That card was shared HERE if you are curious.

I'm getting a set of Birthday Cards ready to gift a friend, so this is one I will be putting in the bag.

Supplies:
Card and Envelope - Michaels
Bouquet of Roses Stencils - Simon Says Stamp
Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes
Dot stamp - Stamps by Judith
Distress Stickles - Tim Holtz

Green patterned paper (inside) - My Minds Eye

Birthday Whisky Slimline Pop Up Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today for Masculine Card Monday here on my blog,  I'm sharing a Masculine Birthday Pop Up Card that is also a Slimline!

If you would like to see the details, I share a walkthrough of my card on YouTube here:

I used the Katherine Label Pop Up and Happy Birthday dies which are both by Karen Burniston. Team Mate Frances Byrne uses the Katherine Label Pop Up even more than I do, and she uses this format a fair bit so she was my inspiration for this pop up version.

The liquid in the carafe and glasses were paper pieced, and I went over the ice cubes lightly with a white coloured pencil for definition.

Since I went over all the details in my video, I'll keep my post here short and sweet.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Scrap-Ease (VERY old paper from my stash)
Card stocks - stash
Whisky Business stamp set - Stampin' Up
Slimline Stitched dies - Trinity Stamps
Copic Marker
White pencil crayon - Prismacolor
1011 Katherine Label Pop Up - Karen Burnison
Tasteful Label dies - Stampin' Up
1030 Happy Birthday die - Karen Burniston
Star Sequins - August 2020 Paper Pumpkin
Gold Nuvo Glitter Pen

Five Birthday Cards From An Older Paper Pad

Hello crafty friends ...

A few days ago I shared three Birthday Cards made using this same paper pad, and also talked about wanting to use up the pad. I worked on a lot of my nursing home donation cards in January using this paper pad! You can see that post HERE if you are interested.

I used a bunch of scraps, strips and partial sheets as well as the stickers that came in the pad for most of these cards.

It was so satisfying to use that paper pad up, but of course I have SO much patterned paper that it didn't even make a dent in the pile. Still ... one more older pad gone and I think the cards turned out cute.

Supplies:
Various card stocks
Inside stamp - Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up
MISTI - My Sweet Petunia
Patterned Paper, Stickers & Cut Aparts - Dear Lizzy, Neapolitan
Stitched circle - MFT Stamps
Fishtail Banner - MFT Stamps
Heart Bling - Queen & Co
Stitched Rectangle - Your Next Stamp
Mini Scalloped Square - MFT Stamps
Tag - Queen & Co (foundation die set)
Seam Binding
Stitched Mini Scallop Ovals - MFT Stamps
Holographic Circle Stickers - stash

Autumn Greetings Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends ...

I'm on the Your Next Stamp Blog today sharing a cute fall themed Slimline Card! Of course I had to use the new Slim Circle Panel die for the background panel, cutting it out of woodgrain patterned paper. I also backed it with a transparency because I love the shine that gives a card.

I cut the Cool Tag 6 twice, once from white card stock and once from Kraft. On the white tag, I added a background with masks and brushes, then stamped the cute images from YNS's Autumn Animals onto white card stock with YNS Black Olive Ink. They were die cut with the coordinating dies and coloured with Copic markers - and I added them to the white tag with varying layers of foam tape.

I loved the pops of red from the apples, so after off setting the Kraft tag I tied a red seam binding bow. I continued the red with red Gumdrops and a red mat on the sentiment label - which is a die that comes with the Cool Tag 6 Die Set!

Here is a peek at the inside, where I wrapped red seam binding around the white panel before adhering it to the patterned paper mat and then the card base. I stamped the Thankful for You on a stitched circle, and then one of the faces from the Fun Faces stamp set. Those faces are just SO cute!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Spiced Cider Stack, DCWV
Transparency
Various card stocks - stash
MISTI
Copic markers
Sakura white gel and black glaze pens
Seam binding
Banner Pick a Punch - Stampin' Up
Water brush

Card size - 3.5 x 8.5", fits in a #10 Business Envelope
