Good morning friends
I was drawn to the fun, happy colours in a 12 x 12" sheet of tag cut-apart by American Crafts, so am working on getting them onto cards and not just sitting in the drawer. There were sixteen on the sheet! I found three that worked well together and made a Pop-Up card.
I am trying to use my large background stamps more these days, which is hard for me. I am a patterned paper girl! However, this stamp matched too well not to use it. With the MISTI, using large background stamps is so much easier! I remember back in the day, having to lay everything on the floor and step on the wood mounted background images. Even then you didn't always get a good impression. The MISTI changed all that!
Since I'm crazy about flamingoes these days I added a couple of stamped & die cut ones onto my card. The printed tag has glitter added to the leafy 'hello'.
Inside I used Karen Burniston's Cupcake Pop-Up and just trimmed a little off the sides of the cupcake portion that stuck out behind the printed tag. I added another flamingo to the tag then mounted it over the trimmed cupcake shape.
The 'enjoy' panel was also on the tag sheet - I trimmed off the angled portion of the tag and matted it with kraft and patterned paper.
As an added detail, I added some patterned paper to the inside of the kraft backing card, which you can see when you view the card from the side. It's not necessary, but sometimes I like to add additional details like this.
Three more of those printed tags used up!

Thanks for stopping by today
Ah the days of using the floor to step on large stamps or punches!!!! Flamingos are so popular. The card looks great. You've inspired me to pull out my pages of tags...summer project.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Like you I am a paper girl, but trying to use more background stamps & stencils
