I used Crayola markers to colour in one of the Paint Swooshes in a rainbow of colours, to tie in with the rainbow candy. It worked out even better than I'd hoped! After colouring on the stamp I gave it a light mist with water and stamped it onto the white stitched rectangle. Then I stamped the Happy Valentine's Day in black on top of the swoosh.
For the rainbow candy sleeve, I added a 1 x 6" strip of white card stock to the outside back of the bag. That helped keep the candy from sliding around too much.

ReplyDeleteYES - you can use Crayola markers. In fact you can use any WATER BASED marker with your stamps, both the photopolymer (clear) and rubber. The rubber takes the marker better, but that is because rubber stamps are superior to photopolymer for ink transfer.
Back in the day, a lot of stamps being released were solid images and you would colour them with a juicy Marvy Marker (water based) and could stamp a single image in a rainbow of colours. So fun! Tombow is another quality brand marker that works great for colouring onto your stamp then stamping.
I like Crayola because they are inexpensive and readily available.
Just be sure you don’t use any alcohol based or permanent marker. Only water based. And have fun!
