Holiday Snowglobe Card Duo

Good morning friends

I am absolutely tickled with how these cards turned out! I couldn't resist picking up the Elizabeth Craft Designs Snowglobe die set when they had it on sale after the holidays - I've always wanted a snow globe die set! When I was hunting for something in my holiday embellishment box, I came across these two pink 3-D snowman tags. They were on gifts under the tree last year but they were far too pretty to toss so I added them to my bin to recycle onto cards.

Since the tags were mostly pink, I looked through my Christmas patterned paper and found this pretty package from My Minds Eye that would work well. The tag is all glittered so the glitter in the patterned paper was an added bonus. I love some sparkle on my holiday cards! With some careful tugging, I was able to separate the tag layers then insert it behind the snow globe opening with the hat and scarf extending outside the opening.

I cut the snow globe base cut from some woodgrain paper then popped up the 'Noel' piece with foam tape.

Here is a peek at the inside:

When I was finished, I had glitter all over my stamping table! Those tags shed glitter like crazy. I normally work on a large cutting mat with a grid on it, but this glitter didn't want to come off the mat and that was the thing that tipped my decision to get a glass mat. While I would have LOVED the new Tim Holtz glass mat - it's really amazing - I saved a bunch of $$ by getting the Tonic Studio's one. I've been using it for over a month now and have to say how much I like working on (tempered) glass! Now I wish I'd saved a little longer and went for the Tim Holtz one. Sheesh. The glass mat cleans up so easily and that is just one of the advantages.
