Popping Up To Say ... Make A Wish

Good morning friends

Today is our Paper Pro's Challenge, and this time Caz's theme is 'Food and Drink'. Of course I just had to use the new Sweet Treats Charms for my card! I found some older paper in my stash and I have lots of circles and frames on my stamping table these days because of the new Circle Charm Pop-Up and Crosshatch Circles.  I grabbed some white circles & a frame, a pink frame, then cut the cute scalloped edge from the Nature Edges set in red.

I used the new Upsy Daisy Pop-Up for the fun inside, along with Karen Burniston's 'Slide Technique'. The centre layered circle is adhered to the one on the right, and SLIDES over the left circle as the card opens and closes. After I saw her Diamond Slide Technique card, I just had to try it with circles.

The fishtail banner die from the Upsy Daisy set is so handy for adding just a little something extra. I cut the popsicle from a scrap of the striped paper from the same paper pad.

I die cut the word SWEET three times, then adhered them on top of each other for a nice chipboard type embellishment, and layered a bunch more circles and frames onto my centre circles. Then I discovered that the centre circle was getting caught under the left one and I didn't like that catch point. To remedy that, I added the red fishtail banner on each side of both outer circles. The die cut wasn't long enough, but a quick snip through the centre let me adhere them to the back of the circles where I wanted them to hang over.

The centre circle still caught occasionally, but adding the fussy cut sunglasses remedied it completely and made for a smooth transition. Next time I do this, I will use slightly larger circles (or another shape) on the outer arms as the initial problem was that my circles were too small.

The other 'fix' is from Karen Burniston's assembly video for the Upsy Daisy die. She says to 'let your card determine which arm is going to slide under and which is over and that it could be different each time'. I bet it was the one on the left that wanted to go underneath but I didn't think to check for hat and just adhered the centre circle over the right one.

The Ice Cream Cone is adorable, and I added some glitter over the gel pen sprinkles, then added the same glitter glue over the Happy Birthday die. The script dies from all the Word Sets can be curved a little so here I had it follow the line of the red scalloped border.

I really like my Upsy Daisy cards displayed at 90 degrees - but for this one I did open it a little further  to show you the banners on the inside of the circle & little sunglasses

We will sign our name on the longer, white fishtail banner and I added a sweet donut to that as well.
