Olivia's Birthday Gift Card Holders

Good morning friends

Today's share are the Gift Card Holders I made for our Granddaughter's birthday last month. I was making one for us to give her and also one for my Mom so I wanted them both to be different. For my Mom's, I pulled out the Card Slider die by Lynda Kanase, and decorated it with these beautiful unicorn stickers from Violette Stickers.

Everything for Olivia right now is Unicorns and Mermaids, and since she was having a unicorn themed birthday part these stickers were just perfect! After I was done, I wrapped the remaining unicorn sticker sheets in tissue paper and tucked them in with the rest of her birthday gift so she could play with them too.

I did add some glitter glue to the stickers for extra shimmer and shine.

I love the crosshatch detail on Karen Burniston's new nesting dies - and I used both the squares and the rectangles for this gift card holder.

Here is a top view of the Slider Card - the die cuts the inside with all the scorelines and the gift card slot, and also the backing card. It works for Gift Cards, Instax photos, cash and even cheques! The gift card is hidden when the card is closed, then pops out as the card is opened.

For our Gift Card Holder, I used the tutorial by Dawn Griffith (link to her video at the end of the post). I  personalized the front with Karen Burniston's new Alpha and added a sparkly mermaid holding a sticker gift.

I wanted the mermaid to have a full head of hair, so I cut her hair three times and staggered them at the back. I like how this gives the mermaid a different look.

Inside I used more of the Crosshatch nesting dies and more stickers.

We both gave Olivia gift cards for Michaels along with a few things to open on her birthday. With her  PH, she can't really play outside and she can't do a lot of running around etc. Thankfully she loves to craft and that helps keep her busy while keeping her heart rate down and her oxygen levels up. My Mom and I thought it would be fun for her to go pick out some craft kits and apparently Olivia had a ball choosing things she'd like to make at home.

I have made quite a few of the Gift Card Holders using Dawn's tutorial (with less matting and layers), but I still like to share the link here for you. Click HERE.
