Twist Panel Birthday Card

Good morning friends

Today's share uses the new Twist Panel Pop-Up die set by Karen Burniston in cahoots with Riley and Company. Not surprisingly, this die set has been extremely popular all over and actually sold out of it's first run. For today's card I was able to use some older patterned paper and embellishments from my stash.

The patterned paper is all sparkly - so pretty.

Here is the card opening - while it looks like that top right corner is bent, it is actually the black ribbon hanging over the edge. A weird photo angle and I didn't notice it when I was editing the photos.

Look at all that fun going on inside! The four panels open, spread and pop-up above the card base.

Karen Burniston has included a lot of dies in this set, including this fun little pop-up heart. It folds down flat but pops up as the panels unfold.

The word dies have such a sweet font, and can be curved a little as you adhere them down.

Because of the chipboard embellishments, this card would be too thick to go through the regular mail. There are 4 layers of chipboard when the card is closed! To remedy this, I sent it through the mail opened up. First though, I added  bubble wrap up through the centre of the card so the panels wouldn't get smooshed. And it was going to someone who would know what the card should do!

Honestly, I wasn't even thinking about the thickness when I was making the card, but it's something I'm more aware of now. If you are hand delivering your card, you could go ahead and make it as thick as you wish. You could use a Belly Band to hold it closed or even tie a ribbon around the card.
