Birthday Card with Hearts

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy birthday card made with some older products in my craft room. The cute patterned paper was leftover from an Anniversary Card that will be shared another day. There was just enough for an A2 card front with a leftover strip for the inside - perfect!

The pretty stamp is from Studio Katia and it was stamped on a stitched circle & popped up with foam tape. It's hard to see in the photos, but I added some clear glittery dots with Pops of Color for some birthday sparkle.

Here is a peek at the inside:

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - unknown & older from my stash, no cover sheet anymore.
Happy Birthday stamp - Studio Katia

Pop Up Birthday Card w/ Sheetload

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog! I finished off another one of those July Sheetload of Cards (that makes 5 finished out of 8) and made it a pop-up using dies by Karen Burniston. In her newest release there are two Add-Ons for the Lorna Label Pop-Up, and I couldn't wait to play with this one. It's the Just A Note Lorna Add-Ons and it creates this lovely cutaway area in the centre of the Lorna Label Pop-Up.

OMGoodness, I am going to have so much fun with this. The words can be cut away from the centre if you just want to use the words with their shadow, or you can use the word dies only to create the phrase on it's own. I used gold foil card stock to tie in with the front, but will use something with a little more contrast on my next card. I believe the instructions said it will fit in a 4" deep card (this one is 5x7") so there is even more versatility. Yep - I'm a fan 😊

I stamped the greeting on one of the Short Crosshatch Rectangles (matted with more patterned paper from the package) and added some butterflies die cut from gold foil paper. Sticking with the gold foil theme, I die cut the Happy Birthday to adhere to the pop-up step on the Lorna Label and my card was finished.

Into my stash with this one ...

Mini Slimline 'BUZZING BY TO SAY...' Card

I was moving things around in my craft room and found the Bee Happy pouch with a few leftover pieces inside it. This is a cardmaking kit by Paper Rose that I worked on a lot several months ago. I decided to see what was in the pouch and ended up with enough pieces to make two Mini Slimline cards. This is the first one and I'll share the second one another day.

There were no more ephemera pieces left so I stamped and die cut a bee to add onto a die cut hexagon. The bee was coloured with alcohol markers with some glitter glue added as well. The outside sentiment is in the same stamp set as the bee (Studio Katia).

Here is a peek at the inside, with a very old stamp and a few scraps of the patterned paper. Since there is narrow gold tape on the front I added a strip inside as well.

Canada Day Card Duo

Every year I send out Canada Day cards to family & a few friends, but this year these are the only two cards I managed to make! 😩  I may have to make a couple in the coming weeks to have on hand for next year. Sheesh.

At any rate, I was flipping through the Moose Crossing patterned paper pad by Catherine Pooler and saw the buffalo plaid maple leaf print. Bingo! I grabbed the coordinating stamp set and decided to use the August 2023 Sheetload sketch for these cards.

After punched out the stamped beaver with a label punch, I aded some dots with a marker to 'ground' him and lightly inked the edges. Inside, I added a few more stamps from the set and a Celebrate stamp.

Now to decide which family members will get a card, ha ha. I'm thinking that we will be getting together with my brother and our eldest daughter & family, so the ones that won't be joining us will get Happy Mail to celebrate Canada's 157th Birthday!

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Moose Crossing, Catherine Pooler (6x6")

February 2023 Sheetload Of Cards

It's the 2nd of the month and that means it's time for the Collaboration Team to share their Sheetload of Cards. I'm on the YouTube Collaboration Team so HERE is the link to my YouTube video.

I added pops of gold foil using older die's and I really like how they added to the card!

Once again I made birthday cards that I will donate to my Mom's old nursing home.

Love is in the Air - Slimline Card

I still really enjoy making Slimline cards, and haven't made enough of them the past couple of months. Today I am sharing a Slimline card that I can send to a friend in February for Happy Mail.

I pulled out this heart background die from Whimsy Stamps, cutting it from Doodlebug patterned paper, I saved the fallaway hearts to add back into some of the openings with foam tape and saved the others for different projects. The tag is from the same package, and the bow is from a Stampin' Up stitched flower die set.

Inside, I used the Dotted Slimline Set 2 from Studio Katia for the layers and you can see I sprinkled a few more of the fallaway hearts. There is still room to write a personal message when I go to send the card.

A couple of times last year, I was asked how many cards I make but I didn't have a clear number. Since a lot of my posts include more than a single card or project, I thought it would be fun to keep track this year.
2023 Tally:  45 Cards

Additional Supplies:
White cardstock
Bow - from Stampin Up's Pierced Bloom Dies

Happy Turkey Day

Hello my crafty friends. Awhile ago I pulled out this older 12 x 12" sheet of patterned paper and made a couple of cards. I had one piece leftover and it was perfectly sized to fit on this pretty background die by Studio Katia.

If we are away (camping etc) I like to bring stamped and die cut images with me. That gives me something to do in the evenings or if everyone is out and about in the daytime and I'm on my own for a couple of hours. Because of my RA, I can't go on hikes or long dog walks so I look after my own entertainment. 😊

These images are from that bin of pre-coloured pieces and were done so long ago I can't even remember who makes them!

Inside, I added a second scalloped panel (because they are just so pretty!), a stitched rectangle with a stamped sentiment and a couple of acorn stickers.

NOTE - I was setting up the thumbnail links and was having trouble linking the scalloped panel. I went to Studio Katia's website and see that it is no longer being offered! I'm disappointed for my followers as they can no longer purchase it. I really like it though, and will continue to keep creating with it.

That's it for me today!

Additional Supplies:
Scalloped die - Dotted Patterns Set 4, Studio Katia
Buff cardstock - stash
Brown cardstock - stash
Patterned Paper- old ... final leftover piece
Acorn Stickers - old, from my stash
Turkey and sentiment - unknown, possibly TAWS

Mini Slimline Foiled Bats

Hello my crafty friends. I get some of my best crafting ideas when I'm drifting off to sleep, or trying to get BACK to sleep in the night. While that would inspire some to jump out of bed and get creating, I find it soothing. The trick is to actually remember the idea in the morning, ha ha.  This card is the result of one of those nights and I couldn't be happier with it.

I used my Glimmer Foil to foil a REGULAR DIE!  Karen Burniston's new Slim Bat Pattern Plate to be specific. Gold foil on black card stock and it foiled beautifully. I might have gasped when I peeled away the foil - the shine was amazing.

Using a Stardust gel pen, I added lines into each of the negative areas then decided to just go for broke and add colour to the bats with coloured pencils. Finally I added gold gel pen eyes to each bat.

Here is a peek at the inside and I used the same glittery gel pen to outline the inside panels.

The glittered pen outlines really show up on the black cardstock!

NOTE:  Usually I would be able to use the negative foil piece with a solid hot foil stamp to get a second, reverse foiled image. Which would have been ok with this one except I tried it on black card stock. Foiling requires a really smooth card stock and my black is not that smooth apparently. It was ok for the fine lines but not for a really solid image. While the foil did transfer it looked splotchy and very unappealing so it got tossed. I would have been better to add it to a white smooth cardstock.  Next time!

Sparkly Dog Gift Tag

Hello my crafty friends. I'm back today with another gift tag using the Wrap It Up dies & stamps from Pigment Craft Co. I also pulled in a bunch of stuff from my craft room - the dog is from a no-longer-around company called Paper Smooches. It was stamped then covered with some double sided adhesive then Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Several years ago I made a bunch of these, so ... time to use one up at least.

I had just received my order from Studio Katia with their 'Simply Hi' items and had also ordered the Iridescent Ice Flakes. The larger ones will make great toppers for party hats, so I added one here.

The blue polka dot paper was just a partial sheet so I got to use that up too. I added a dot of silver Stickles into each of the white spots for Birthday sparkle and shine.

I didn't realize the stamping was a little crooked until I was editing the photos ... oops!

Sunflower Explosion Card

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog. I am having another play with that gorgeous sunflower patterned paper and this time I created an Explosion card AND I have a tutorial for you on YouTube:

Lots of dimension with this type of fun fold, but it folds down nice and flat for mailing. I also like that a 6 x 6" paper fits perfectly inside a standard A2 card.

This paper was sent to me for Scrap 'n Stamp Canada's August Inspiration Hop "Sunflower Power" and I'm still creating cards with it, it's just SO pretty. If you would like to see the three cards I made for the hop, click HERE.

Autumn Floral 'HI' Card

Hello my crafty friends. Today I'm sharing my first play with the Autumn Array layering stencils from Taylored Expressions. They were released last year, I believe - but I just recently added them to my craft room. The HI is also new - it's from Studio Katia's latest release - there is a stamp set, a die to cut out the large HI and also the large HI in a hot foil stamp! WOOT ... had to get them - I'll get lots of use out of them.

In addition to the HI hot foil stamp, I used Pink Fresh Studio's Hot Foil Nested Hexagons. When you are foiling, you have to use a very smooth cardstock. Since I hadn't anticipated foiling when I did the stencilling, I just used my regular white cardstock. You can see it didn't foil completely, and instead looks a little 'worn'. I used my usual matte coated cardstock for the HI, though, and it foiled beautifully!

The plaid patterned paper is long retired, but I will link a few others for you. This card is larger than A2, it's a 5 x 6.5" card and envelope set that I bought at Michaels several years ago. Oh, and the sentiment on the front is from Taylored Expressions and also linked below.

Inside I added another hexagon, this time stamped with a set from Gina K.

While I had the stencils out anyhow, I ended up creating 4 panels with them. I put one aside for another day but completed three cards - this one is the first. The others will be shared later this month.

Gold & Black Tag

Hello my crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing another gift tag using mostly supplies I bought from Pigment Craft Co when they were having their Canada Day sale. Love the size and shape of this tag - so different! I cut it from gold foiled paper (free with purchase from Stampin' Up during SALEabration).  I cut the tag again from white card stock and offset the two tags.

The gold pearl cardstock was sitting on my stamping table - it was just a partial sheet. Also close to me was the (retired) Garden Greenhouse from Stampin' Up so I cut some leaves using those dies. The stamped rectangle needed a little pop, so I die cut one of Karen Burniston's Border Blends from black card stock and tucked that up underneath for a cute scalloped look. Since I can't link the pearlized gold I used, I found others I can link for you.

The sequins & gems are from Studio Katia and there are gold gel pen highlights on the stamped sentiment.

Scrap 'N Stamp August Inspiration Hop - "Sunflowers"

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Scrap 'N Stamp Canada's August Inspiration HOP with a theme of Sunflowers!

The sunflower collection from Crafters Companion is so lovely - I am looking forward to seeing what the other Designers came up with too!  You can see the whole blog hop list on the SNS Blog HERE:  I chose the 6 x 6" paper pad and the Sunflower Wishes stamps to work with and was so inspired I made three cards in three different sizes. I have all the details in my YouTube video:

First up is the Sunflower Shutter Card, using dies by Lawn Fawn. Remember most of the supplies are available at Scrap 'N Stamp and they are also linked below for you.

The solid foiled butterfly was created using the negative foiling technique and I saved the blue outline butterflies for another card.

After you slide off the belly band, you open the panel and the shutters slide open to reveal the sentiment. I have so much fun with this die set!

Here are the butterflies again, this time foiled using a mini rainbow foil and these ones are the outline butterflies. I saved the reverse foiled ones for another project.

The sentiment and signing block was added to the back side - I love the size of the sentiments in the stamp set, and the great mix of fonts.

The next card is 4.25" square and fits in a standard A2 envelope for mailing. I stamped another sentiment from the stamp set onto vellum, but when the ink was fully dry I thought it was dried back too light. So I traced the letters with a brown fine point marker and liked it much better.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Finally, a Mini Slimline card - the papers are perfect for quick and easy cards. I added lots of shimmer to the panel with Wink of Stella, gold confetti and outlined the panel with a gold gel pen.

I tried to capture the shimmer, but it is hard on screen. It shows up in real life though!

Here is the inside of the Mini Slimline ...
