Hanging Planter Flip Fold Card

Hello my crafty friends

Today I'm sharing a card I'm entering into the latest challenge at The Male Room Challenge Blog. Challenge #106 "Gorgeous Greens". You can see all the details HERE.

I wanted to use my new hanging planter die again, so this time I added it to a Flip Fold card. This type of card goes by several different names - Flip-It, Flip Fold, Flip, Flip Flop depending on the manufacturer.

The plant hanger was cut from silver matte foil card stock. I added some narrow washi tape down the right side for some more shimmer 'n' shine. I cut the plant twice, once from woodgrain card stock and once from green. Then they were layered together after I did a little highlighting with Distress Oxide inks and a water brush on the plant.

Even though this is a masculine card, I had the perfect word stamp to send this card to my Mom. I'm sending a card to her each week so she knows I'm thinking about her. She loves to receive Happy Mail!

Hard to see in the photos, but I also added some Crystal Nuvo Drops. More shine!

Supplies:
Hanging planter die set - Sizzix
Green, white card stocks
Distress Oxide Inks
Patterned paper - Sizzix and Moda Scrap
Silver foil card stock - Tonic Studios
Vintage Label Flip-Fold - Divinity Designs
Double Pierced Vintage Label dies - Divinity Designs
Washi Tape - Stampin' Up
Scalloped rectangle dies - Honey Bee Stamps
Words - Hero Arts

Fine point marker

Balloon Shaker Birthday Card Duo

Hello my crafty friends

This is my first post today, I'll be back later this morning with a couple of cards for a challenge at Your Next Stamp. First though,  I'm sharing the birthday card I made for my Mom to give our youngest Granddaughter, Alma. I used this nice big balloon die from Divinity Designs and made them into shaker cards.

I added the letters to spell her name and the number two, then used a white marker to add highlights on the acetate around the number.

Alma is really into shaker cards, so she loved this one!

The second card is similar but I added Karen Burniston's large Celebrate! die across the centre of the balloon.

Here is a peek at the inside:

This second balloon birthday shaker card is for my stash.

Boy Balloon Card Duo

Hello my crafty friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog and I have a pair of birthday cards that would be perfect for boys.

On the first card I used vertical stitched panel dies to die cut the two panels for the card front, trimming away the far right edge so the inside patterned paper would show through when the card was closed.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

This second was has a double layer of those nice big Balloons, tied with bakers twine at the bottom.

Here is the inside of the second card ...

One of these cards will be donated to the my Mom's nursing home - I bring them a bag of 25 Birthday Cards each month. The other will be put aside for when our daughter's need cards for the grandkids to take to birthday parties.

Lever Thank You Card and Flip-It Thank You Card

Hello my crafty friends

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my card today, and I have a pair of Thank You cards to share today that both use fun folds.

The first one is a Lever Card, using this pretty patterned paper I was trying to use up. I've had it for years and it's time! I added a die cut 'thanks' and a pretty paper flower.

The flowers had thick black half dome gems that were too thick for mailing. I popped them off and used the Nuvo Crystal drops instead.

The second fun fold card is a Flip-Its die set by Stephanie Barnard for Sizzix.

These pretty open flower dies from Stampin' Up make such a nice little accent! I'm going to enjoy them for sure.

I cut the second centre section again from white card stock, and adhered it to the back. That gave me lots of room to write a note down that section when I sent the card.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Lever card and layering dies - Divinity Designs
White and black card stocks
Flowers - recollections
1002 Word Set 1 - Greetings (thanks) - Karen Burniston
Nuvo Crystal Drops

Triple Fancy Frame Flip-It's Stephanie Barnard Sizzix (Retired)
Yellow, black and white card stocks
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Petals and more dies - Stampin' Up
Black twine - Stampin' Up
Fishtail banner die - MFT Stamps
Sakura black glaze pen

Sparkly Flip Fold Card for a New Year

Good morning friends

It's no secret that I love Flip-It Cards and have for years. When I saw this (Vintage Label Flip Fold with Layers) die set in the November 2018 Our Daily Bread Designs release, I ordered it immediately. I love how much 'real estate' you get with this large label in the centre.

For my card today, I used patterned paper with glittery embossed bits, white glitter and black glossy card stocks, and glitter dots for even more sparkle and shine.

The white glitter card stock isn't showing up in the photos, but it's VERY sparkly.

Not only does the die set come with the layering dies - look in the centre at those two small pieces. Those layering dies are also included and I don't think any other company has made layering dies for the centre section of their flip type cards. Love it!

Note, I used the layering die to cut a patterned paper piece to adhere to the back of the smaller front section. It adds just enough stability and looks good when the recipient turns the card over. I don't know why I didn't think of that before - usually I add a 1/2" or 3/4" strip of card stock to the back of that narrow side. Using the layering die makes it look much more polished.

I have actually made several cards with this die set but this latest one is the first one I'm sharing here on my blog. The others are scheduled for the coming weeks and you will be seeing this one used a lot.

Supplies:
Vintage Label Flip Fold with Layers die set - Our Daily Bread Designs
Red, black and white card stocks
Patterned paper - Creative Imagination
Cheers die - MFT Stamps
Champagne glass dies - the Stamps of Life
Glimmer card stock - Stampin' Up

Foiled Roses Card Trio

Good morning friends

Back in October I visited Paper Pastimes in Calgary to do a little craft shopping. I found this beautiful foiled paper by Prima and picked up a sheet of it. When I needed to make a couple of Thank You cards, I pulled it out and got to work.

I made a trio of cards, two Thank You Cards and a birthday card to donate to my Mom's nursing home.

I used the Lever Card and Lever Card Layering dies by Our Daily Bread Designs for this first card, as well as the Thank You die by Karen Burniston. The patterned paper is SO pretty and with all the foiling, so I chose not to add any other embellishments. The Thank you was die cut from foiled paper and adhered to the centre front panel.

The Thank You panel pivots to the inside as the card is opened.

I wrote my note of thanks on the white rectangle.

The second card is also a Thank You card, and this time I used the pretty scalloped card base by Stephanie Barnard from Sizzix.

Both the Thank You and the oval dies are by Karen Burniston.

For my final card, I used Raquel's sketch C4C452 to make a Birthday Card to donate to my Mom's nursing home.

Here is a peek at the inside, where I stamped the sentiment on a stitched banner piece by Pink and Main.

The gold foil heart was sitting on my stamping table from a different project.

I used the whole 12 x 12" sheet for these cards! There were a few strips leftover which were used to make bookmarks. I love that there are no leftover pieces as no way I could toss such pretty paper.

Pine Sprig Lever Card

Good morning friends

OMGoodness, I love this card. I can't even tell you how many times I picked it up and looked (ok, admired) it before I got the photos taken and the card put in the Christmas Card bin. The patterned paper is very subtle looking in the photos, but in real life is is bright white with champagne foil printing. It catches and shines in the light - it's just beautiful stuff!

This Cricut cut embellishment was in my bin - I have had them done for years - the shadow layer is a pretty copper foil card stock, and I cut the JOY from champagne card stock for even more glam.

I used the Lever Card die set from Our Daily Bread Designs, but wanted to try it without the coordinating Layer die set. It could have gone either way, looking too plain or looking too busy, OR even been too 'wussy' without the layers. But this patterned paper was just perfect - it's nice and sturdy but not bulky. It also went together in record time!

In the photo below you get a hint of all the sparkle and shine in this pretty patterned paper.

I have the remaining piece of this patterned paper and I'm very tempted to whip up another identical holiday Lever Card. On the other hand, it might be perfect to use with Karen Burniston's House Pivot Panels as well. Ahhh the decisions a crafter must make. Ha!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Foil card stock - Stampin' Up
Lever Card base die set - Our Daily Bread Designs
Joy die - Taylored Expressions
Merry Christmas stamp - Simon Says Stamp
White card stock
Label punch - Stampin' Up
1062 House Pivot Panel (snowflakes) - Karen Burniston
Pine Sprig - Cricut cut, from my stash

Metallic Deer Diorama Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is another Diorama card, made using dies from Our Daily Bread Designs and this pretty foiled patterned paper from Stampin' Up. I also used some dies by Karen Burniston for embellishing the layers.

I just love how the light catches on al the foil bits. Diorama cards are another fun way to use Karen Burniston's scene and border dies!

On the back side, I gold embossed the greeting and added another border from the Outdoor Edges die set along with a snowflake cut from foil card stock.

The card folds down completely flat for mailing in an A6 envelope.

Supplies:
Diorama with Layers die set - Our Daily Bread Designs
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
White card stock
Stamp - Hero Arts

Champagne foil card stock - Stampin' Up
