Pop Up Anniversary Card

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog!

This is one of those cards that are just better in real life. The gold just POPS! Since hubby and I both like to visit Arizona, I used Southwest papers, stamps and dies, and the pop up inside is Karen Burniston's Raising Platform Pop Up.  I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:

I was happily surprised at how well I liked the cactus pieces cut from gold!

I added an extra fold inside the pop up heart, for even more hearts.

The sentiment is just perfect for our Anniversary. 🥰

Windmill Sympathy Card

I just love the look of a black silhouette over pretty scenic patterned paper. For today's card I spritzed a windmill die cut with shimmer spray, then popped it up onto the 4x6" patterned paper panel. Using coloured dye inks and blending brushes, I added some colour to the card base and I was happy with how that looked.

After stamping the sentiment directly onto the patterned paper, I matted the panel with black cardstock and adhered it to the card front. I forgot to photograph the inside, but I stamped a sympathy sentiment and there is lots of room for a personal message.

Supplies used:
Patterned Paper - Meandering Meadows, Stampin' Up
Windmill die - Paper Rose
Blending brushes - Taylored Expressions
Dye inks - Catherine Pooler
Sentiment outside - Heartfelt Hexagon, Stampin' Up

Pop-Up Mini Slim Birthday Card

While I have been having a lot of fun with the Pop Up Mechanism included in the Twist Flower Pop Up, I haven't really used the included flower dies before. So that is what I added inside today's card.

The front of the Mini Slimline card, as well as the banners inside are actually on a sheet designed to be cut apart. I was ready for some different floral paper, so picked up this paper package and the coordinating solids and look forward to playing with them some more.

The sentiment was stamped on a lightly inked, punched out hexagon and I added some gold glitter dots for shimmer & shine.

Mini Slimline Christmas Card Duo with Deer

I plan on working on holiday cards at least once a month - so I'm just squeaking in with April's cards. Last month I shared a 5x7" card duo made with a lovely winter scene patterned paper. I saved the leftover pieces for these two Mini Slimline cards. You can see the other two cards HERE:

I do love shimmer and shine on a holiday card, so for these ones I added Rainbow Holographic card stock to the entire front of these these cards. Normally I would have cut away the centre of the card stock to use on a different project, but the patterned papers are quite thin and the edges of the cut away area below would show through. So I left it as a full size panel.

I just adore this large deer die, and cut it from white pearl card stock then lightly inked the edges with a blending brush and dye ink. I positioned the deer where they would be adhered with foam tape and stamped the sentiment, then I added the deer. Glitter dot stickers were added to each flank and some Pops of Color in a clear sparkle colour for even more shine.

I kept the insides clean and simple, with a stamped sentiment and holly leaf. Oh, and the sentiment on the front? The paper has a bit of a coating on it so I had to set the panels aside to dry for about 15 - 20 minutes after stamping the sentiment on the front panel before continuing with the cards.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Frosted Forests & Falling Flakes, Hunkydory
White pearl cardstock
Blending brushes - Taylored Expressions
Catherine Pooler inks
Words on front - Christmas Classics - Stampin' Up

Dog Bone Shaped Sympathy Card

I decided to make a pet sympathy card to have on hand, so pulled out the Slimline Dog Bone die from Whimsy Stamps. I also made it into a shaped card! To do this I die cut the bone three times. Twice from white card stock and once from the rainbow slimline patterned paper. After doing the stamping on the rainbow piece and adding the die cut dog, I adhered it to one of the white bones. For the remaining white bone, I scored those top bumps about 1/4" down from the top. Adding adhesive ABOVE the score line I attached the two pieces together. Ta dah - a shaped top folding card!

Now if I'd been smart, I would have done the inside stamping before I adhered the back to the card front. Instead, I stamped on a fishtail banner and adhered it over a scrap of the rainbow paper inside.

One more look ...

'Celebration Mouse' Pop-Up Birthday Card

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog!

I know I haven't posted much this week - it's been so busy and honestly, I'm only willing to spend so much time on the computer and then I'm done. So my blog posts had to be put on the wayside for a couple of days. I also haven't been in my craft room and unable to make anything new. 😩  Doesn't look like I'll get in there this weekend either, as we will be busy with family both Saturday and Sunday.

Today's card is one I had envisioned when I bought the Mouse Edger die. I can't remember if it was just last year or if it was the year before - R&R Scrapbooking had a great sale on Crafters Companion dies and I picked up a number of these cute edgers. It's perfect for birthday cards and I figured I'd be able to use it for some nursing home donations cards as well. The mouse was cut from a 4.5 x 6" piece of Rainbow Holographic card stock and I wrapped narrow gold foil tape around the left edge before adhering it to a 4.75 x 5.75" sheet of patterned paper. NOTE:  I outlined the right side of the die cut with a grey alcohol marker for some definition, and lightly ink blended some orange ink around the mouse to give it more contrast from the patterned paper. The dye ink just wiped away from the holographic card stock so this was easy to do.

The Happy Birthday was cut from a different paper pad, matted with white card stock and added with thin foam tape.

Once again, inside I used Karen Burniston's Twist Flower Pop Up - I just love how versatile this pop-up is! This time I added a gold foil scalloped circle along with a white circle and the Birthday Wishes sentiment. Cutting two 4" square sof the orange marbled paper then cutting them on the diagonal gave me some colour inside the card and I stamped a sentiment on the right side. Some gold glitter dot stickers for additional sparkle and I was finished the card.

Here is a closer look at the pop-up ...

Rainbows & Clouds Pop Up Card

Today I'm sharing the last card made with this rainbow paper and it's a pop up. As usual, my card started with the patterned paper which was in a 12x12" package. Going through the remaining sheets, I saw one with a large rainbow across the bottom half. It was too big to use on an A2 card, or a Slimline but I thought it might work on a 5x7" card. I cut the rainbow panel down to 6.75" keeping just the rainbow. So now my sheet was 12 x 6.75" and had a large rainbow across the centre.

I cut that sheet in half at 6", giving me two pieces with a half rainbow on each ... and I trimmed the outside side down so each panel measured 4.75 x 6.75. Since there was a second sheet of this large rainbow print in the package I repeated the cutting above and had four half-rainbow panels ready to add to card fronts! In the photo below you can see how they would have fit together if I hadn't cut the sheet in half. You can see the other three cards HERE, HERE and HERE if you are curious.

The Hello Sunshine piece was fussy cut from a sheet of cut apart in the package and the cloud punch is from Stampin' Up. For the one on the front I used Rainbow Holographic card stock for even more shimmer & shine.

Inside the card I used the Twist Circle Pop Up - one of my new favourite die sets by Karen Burniston. It works in a variety of card sizes and you can animate so many things! Here I have a cluster of punched clouds along with a fussy cut rainbow from the same piece as the sentiment on the front.

Some of the punched clouds are from the Rainbow Holographic card stock and others were punched from white and inked with blending brushes. The Paper Hugs is a die I've had for about a year and I think this is the first time I've used it - yikes.

Mini Gift Bag for a Bracelet

Earlier in the year, Karen Burniston released some cute gifting sets that I couldn't wait to get my hands on. While they were themed for Valentine's they work all year round - which is good because I didn't get them until March! I've already shared the little gift boxes in a post (and video) HERE if you are curious.

Both the gift box and this Mini Gift Bag can hold a gift card - which is why I wanted both sets. I love to make gift card holders!  In the photo below you can see the mini size a little better. The cute tag comes with the die set and I added it with a jump ring to the ribbon bow.

I made this Mini Gift Bag for a friend who had just had a birthday - and inside I added a little bracelet I made for her in her favourite colours. Since we are both dog people, she got a little paw print charm as well. 🥰

Here is one more look at the bracelet - it's always a little nerve wracking for me to make a bracelet for someone as our wrists are all different sizes. Thankfully this one fit her.  It fit perfectly inside the Mini Gift Bag.

Supplies used:
Mini Gift Bag dies - Karen Burniston
Patterned paper - Flower Market, Carta Bella (6x6" pad)
Seam binding
Jumprings
Stickers - from the Flower Market 12 x 12" package, also by Carta Bella

Small Butterfly Tri-Shutter Card

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog!

Today's card is petite when it comes out of the envelope, but it opens up nice and big. Years ago I ordered a Tri-Shutter die set because I couldn't believe the price point! Then I couldn't believe the size of it when it came - no wonder it was priced so well. Totally MY fault for not paying more attention to the size that was clearly listed when I ordered.  The set was intended for pocket scrapbooking, so folded the card is 3x4".

I actually wanted to see if I could use a printed note card for the card base and the die fit perfectly! This copper foiled one is from my stash and it's just SO pretty with that foiling. I did adjust the center fold a little so I could mount the larger matted rectangle & butterfly on it. The ATC dies from Waffle Flower are the perfect size for this card as well so that made me happy.

The larger butterfly die was included in the Sri Shutter die set and I added a smaller butterfly as well. The copper metallic card stock was in my stash and I coloured gold glitter dots with a rust alcohol marker so they would match a little better.

While I don't get a ton of use out of it, I do make sure to pull it out now and again to make a card. I shake my head every time, at how foolish I was.

Supplies used:
Tri-Shutter die set - Sizzix (old)
Foiled note card - the Paper Studio
ATC Layer dies - Waffle Flower
Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder - Stampin' Up
Copper foil cardstock - Recollections

Woodland Birthday Card

I love the Crafters Companion embossing folders that have coordinating dies. Such a clever idea! For this one I die cut the mushrooms/leaves - they cut as a single piece - then placed them in the embossing folder and ran that through to get the details. The colour was added with blending brushes and dye inks (Catherine Pooler) which was fairly quick to do.

Cutting a 4 x 6" white card stock panel, I embossed that with the same folder, then adhered the coloured piece over the white one. You still see some of the embossed leaves etc on the background. Then I just added some patterned paper and a 2nd white matt to the card base before adhering the embossed piece with thin foam tape.  The Happy Birthday was leftover from a card kit, and I added it with foam tape.

Inside, I added washi tape borders and a stamped sentiment. This card was sent to a friend who celebrates an April birthday.
