Happy/Hoppy Spring Mini Slimline Card

Hello my crafty friends! It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog and today I'm sharing a Mini Slimline for our Grandson for Passover.  The Giant Happy Spring die cut was inked with daubers and Catherine Pooler inks, added to a white off-set layer for a shadow, and then white gel pen highlights were drawn on. The cute frog is from Karen Burniston's Bayou Animals and I coloured inside the fly wings with a white gel pen.

Inside the card, I added another frog and pair of flies - I know he is going to get a bigger kick out of the fly's than the rest of the card, ha ha. I hand lettered Happy Passover and a simple message inside as well.

Mini Slimline Valentine

Hello my crafty friends - today I'm sharing a quick and easy Mini Slimline Valentine Card, using the new Monkey and Lion from Karen Burniston. For today's card I made a pink lion, because - well, it's for Valentine's Day!. The lion is also holding a pink foil heart.

All the hearts are from the new Mailbox Pop Up - there is a die that cuts several mini hearts with one pass through the machine, so I've been able to add little hearts to a bunch of my Valentine cards! The 'Love You' comes from the Pop 'n Swap die set and I cut it from black card stock.

Once I had my die cutting done, I simply added the elements to a Slimline Patterned Paper sheet from the Enchanted Kingdom paper by Whimsy. I cut it to fit on the card base with Mini Slimline dies from Waffle Flower.  Everything that is available is linked below for you. The Happy Valentine's Day is also a die by karen Burniston, and I die cut it from red mirror card stock. It cuts as a single piece which makes it easy to adhere.

'Monkey Love' Window Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card is not a Pop Up, but it does use some dies from Karen Burniston's new release. I have to apologize for the terrible lighting in the photos - it had been cloudy and I couldn't wait for a sunny day. I sent the card to Karen Burniston as when she teaches classes the students love to see cards in real life, so I wasn't able to take better photos when the sun peeked out.

The card started with a heavyweight card base, then I used the Shadow from the new Sending Love to die cut a window from the card front. The new Monkey & Lion set is the latest addition to the KB animals and I just HAD to start with a pink monkey. I think he turned out adorable!

Inside I added another monkey, hearts from the new Hearts Crosshatch, the new Sending Love word die & shadow, and also Word Set 9 Love. All the little hearts were leftovers from a different card that used the new Mailbox Pop Up!

Yep - this is one of those cards that just looks better in real life.

The Design Team will be sharing sneak peeks this week, and celebrating with a Blog Hop on Monday January 24th when the New Release will start shipping!

These are the new dies I used today, the previously released ones are linked for you below.

Penguin Window Pop Up

Hello!
Today's share is a wintery window penguin card that is also a pop up. I used several different dies by Karen Burniston and I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:

The patterned paper is REALLY old, from my stash and I don't think I have ever paired it with silver mirror card stock before. I like it!

Inside is the Katherine Label Pop Up. The largest label was cut from the blue snowflake patterned paper and turned vertically before adhering it behind the white one, then several die cut snowflakes were adhered to that. I checked after each addition to be sure that they remained inside the outer edges of the card when it was closed.

I love all the height and dimension you get from the Katherine Label Pop Up!

The new release will be available to order on Monday November 22, and we will be celebrating with a blog hop. You can contact your local store now to order though, as wholesale orders are already going out. I have a walkthrough of my card with all the details on YouTube:

The new Bayou Animals are too much fun - check out the teeth on the crocodile! I added Glossy Accents to each of their eyes for an additional detail.

Inside I added two more crocodiles along with the Garden Bench Pop Up. I have one of the crocodiles perching on the bench back and holding a flower in his teeth.

Crab and Shark Pop Up Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a card that was made a LONG time ago for a challenge that didn't end up happening. I had been hanging onto the photos and decided to just go ahead with a video and get this card shared. I have a YouTube video here with all the details:

Inside, I used Karen Burniston's Train Pivot Panels turned vertically instead of in a horizontal format as it was designed. Doing it vertically gives you lots of pop up platforms to decorate!

Note, I trimmed the train engine from behind the top shark so nothing would stick out the bottom when the card was closed.

Remember Karen Burniston has assembly videos for her pop up dies! Once you know how to assemble your die, the rest is card size, paper and colour choice as well as embellishments! You can change the look of your card every time you use the dies. :-) I always enjoy showing you different looks and ways you can use your dies once you know how to assemble them.

For your convenience I have linked many of the products used below. Some may be affiliate links which means if you use these links to purchase I may earn a small commission at NO extra cost to you.

Additional Supplies:
Blue textured card stock
Patterned paper - K & Co, old from my stash
Grey card stock
Black fine point pen
Glitter card stock - scraps from my stash
Copic grey marker
Word stamp inside - Sea Creature Sentiments, Your Next Stamp
Holographic circle stickers - Stampendous
Card size - 4.5 x 5.5", fits in an A6 envelope

Penguin Duo Christmas Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing a Christmas Slimline card that is actually a remake of a pop up card I made for my Mom. She saved a lot of the cards I'd made for her, which means a lot ... and this was on one of them. I have kept those cards long enough that now it's time to make a decision when I pull one out ... keep it (why??), toss it (yikes!), or see what can be re-used (ahhhh).

As the card had been a Katherine Label Pop Up, I pulled off the label and added it to this Slimline card. Those penguins are just too cute! (both the Katherine Label and the Penguins are die sets by Karen Burniston).

Inside the card I used a couple of different Slimline dies, a die cut heart and a stamped sentiment & tree.

It felt good to re-use this decorated Katherine Label piece, in fact there were two on the card and I have saved the other, simpler one to use on another card another time. I went through my blog posts and found the original card in case you would like to see it.  Click HERE!

Lift Flap Christmas Card

Hello crafty friends ...

It's time for Karen Burniston's December 2020 Designer Challenge where she challenged the Design Team to use the new Mini Pop dies in a card of any theme. Since today is December 1st and December 1st is the start of Christmas for our family ... I made a Christmas card.

This is not the card I started out making, and I have all the details on YouTube:

This is one of those cards that just shimmers but it's very hard to capture in photos. The Fancy Winter Frames were die cut from white pearl card stock, and the patterned paper has lovely foiled bits. I outlined the decorator label (which is included with the Fancy Frame Accordion) with a gold gel pen as well - something I do quite often.

Small magnets hold the flap closed, and when you lift it up this little snow scene is revealed!

The penguin is holding the little teddybear that comes with the new Winter Charms, and I added a snowflake from the Sleigh Pop Up as well.

Inside the card is more of the foiled patterned paper, the Merry Christmas and a couple more snowflakes.

I hope you will check out what the rest of the design team came up with for this challenge - their blogs are linked on the right. Karen Burniston will have her post tomorrow (Wednesday) on her blog.

Shimmery Snowflake Pop Up Card

 Hello crafty friends ...

Today's card is another one featuring some new release items from Karen Burniston. I used the new Snowflake Pattern Plate on the front, inking it with dye inks and spritzing it with Shimmer Spray before adhering it to the pearlized white card base.  I have a YouTube video walk through for you so you can see the card in action!

I added a stamped sentiment to one of the new Slim Frames and a few extra snowflakes from the new Holiday Charms.

Inside is a Pop Up, using the new Mini Pops.

I love the bough that comes in the hew Holiday Charms, and here I cut it several times and snipped the pieces apart to build the spray. There is another Mini Frame and stamped sentiment with snowflakes on the pop up platforms

I added one more Mini Frame as a signing block, nestling it onto a Crosshatch Rectangle, then added a penguin wearing a winter hat for some additional colour.

There is so much shimmer on this card - that just makes me happy!

Unicorn Flip Frame Pop Up Card

Hello crafty friends

Today I'm sharing another card made with Karen Burniston's COMING SOON new release and I talk about the details in my YouTube video here:

I kept the front nice and simple, since all the fun is on the inside. I used some patterned paper and sparkly confetti, and trimmed the gold glittered CELEBRATE! from a sheet of patterned paper in the stack.

Inside I used the new Flip Frame Pop Up and a few other new dies to create this Unicorn! I'm really proud of this one and how well it worked out.

I used the Tutu from the Hippo in the new Safari animals for the eyelashes, trimming off one notch from each one. That gave me the perfect width to fit both inside the frame. The horn was created from gold glitter card stock and the fox tail from the new Animal Add On's One. There is more information on how I did the horn in my video. The ears were from the same set.

The words were done on the computer - I penned the word Magical on my iPad and added text above and below it before printing. Then I due cut the greeting out using the sweet scalloped rectangle that is in the new Pop 'n Swap die set. In the bottom right corner, I added the crown and wand from the Princess & Mermaid die set.

The Go Wild is also one of the new dies and I'm having fun with that one!

Slimline Pop Up Card for Karen Burniston's New Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends

Today we are having a Blog Hop to show you the new Release by Karen Burniston! All the details for the hop and prize information are at the end of my post.

I have a YouTube video for you that shows the card in action and goes over some of the details.

I used the new Pattern Plate Fronds on the front of my card. The die is the size of an A2 card (4.25 x 5.5"), so I cut one full piece and one partial to cover my 8.5" long card, trimming off the excess on the edges. The join was hidden by the patterned paper! With the popularity of Slimline cards, this technique has been done many times by many different card designers, so I thought it would be fun to try it as well.

The tropical leaves are from the new Landscape Scene, and I added a Crosshatch Oval and the Happy Birthday as well. Copper sequins finish it off - I do love a little bling on a birthday card.

Inside I used the new Flip Frame Pop Up, the Safari Animals and Go Wild. I had been trying to make a Gatefold with both the Flip Frame and Palm Tree Pop Up for my card but it was not working so I salvaged one of the palm trees and added it inside my card.

The animals were die cut from white card stock and inked with dye inks and i-crafter blending brushes!.

A a few more copper sequins were added inside, then I put a heart in each of the animals arms. Finally I added the Celebrate!

Below you can see the entire new release! Remember you can click on the photo to have it open up larger in a new window.

Each DT member will have a $25 Gift Certificate to giveaway on their blog to a random poster. Winners to be announced one week after the hop (July 27th). I will also be counting any YouTube comments when I choose my winner.
