Slimline Christmas Pop Up Card

I completely forgot to share a Christmas card in September! We ended up doing a camping trip down the Oregon coast, we've been busy since we got back and I'm having trouble finding time to get in my craft room. But this is the holiday card I made in September ... just a little late, ha ha.

I went with a Slimline card and the patterned paper is VERY sparkly. I've had the paper pad for a few years and there is also a coordinating ephemera pack that I used for the words on the front and the elements inside. The scene was at the bottom of a 12x12" sheet in the paper pad, and I thought it worked well for a Slimline.

The pop-up arms come from Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop Up and the signing block was die cut with her Rectangles & Labels set.

The Canadian Thanksgiving is this coming weekend, and I didn't get a single card in the mail for it. Hoping I can dig out the extra Halloween cards I made last year and get those in the mail or I'll miss the boat on that occasion too!

Supplies used:
Patterned paper  & Ephemera- Sugar Plum, My Minds Eye
Mini Pop Pop Up - Karen Burniston
Rectangle and Labels Crosshatch - Karen Burniston
Sentiment - Christmas Classics - Stampin' Up
Sakura stardust pen
Catherine Pooler coloured inks
Stickles glitter glue

Sunflower Scene Pop Up Birthday Card

Now that I'm finished making holiday cards, I am back to creating with this card kit again. It's the "Bee Happy Cardmaking Kit" by Paper Rose, and I bought it early last month. I enjoy using card kits and I absolutely loved the images in this one. I also pulled in a few other items from my craft room, including this sweet scalloped die (Catherine Pooler) and the Mini Pops set (Karen Burniston) for the inside. This is the second card I'm posting with the card kit.

The ombre panel inside is actually from a note card set I've had in my stash for a few years. I cut the front away to use on it's own and I really like how it adds a pop of colour inside the card.

The sunflower bouquet pops up when the card opens because it's on one of the large angled arms from the Mini Pops set. I also added a few foiled bee stickers on the front, inside and envelope.

One more look ...

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

January - 53 cards
February - 56 cards
March - 55 cards

Halloween Infinity Shaker (with Pop Up)

I was putting away this patterned paper and spied a partial sheet with those crazy eyed pumpkins in the package. That was all it took to put the package back on my stamping table and make one more Halloween card. 😂

There was a 4 x 6" cut apart in the package as well, so I created an Infinity Shaker (also called Faux Shakers or Edge To Edge Shakers) using a transparency. The confetti inside the shaker is MANY years old and I added a cute Doodlebug enamel spider on top of the transparency for a fun touch.

Inside, I used one of the dies from Karen Burniston's Mini Pops and added a pumpkin to it. The pumpkin pops up as the card opens and just adds a little something extra to the card.

Fun Fold Christmas Card Trio

Hello crafty friends. Today I have THREE different fun fold cards to share today. While they could have each been separate posts, since the supplies on each are identical I decided to lump them together in one ***long*** post. 😊.

I have a walkthrough of the cards on YouTube as well:

The first card is a Double Z Fold card - I haven't done one of these in a long time! The patterned paper is double sided, with the paw prints on one side and cutaparts on the back. In the video I said I'd purchased three sheets, two to use the cutaparts and one to use the cutaparts. But in fact I only purchased TWO sheets and a coordinating 12 x 12" sticker sheet.

I love now nice and sturdy these cards are for display.

The second card uses my favourite cut apart from the sheet. I added Pops of Color to his nose so it's nice and shiny.

Inside is a simple box pop up for the sentiment piece (another cut apart) and I also added one of the Mini Pops arms for the circle dog piece. I show more of that detail in the video.

All of the cards started with these Memories & More card bases (with. matching envelopes) from Stampin' Up. There are 10 green speckled card/envelope sets and 10 red & green polka dotted cards with red envelopes. The front of the third card has another one of the cutaparts as well as stickers from the sheet.

Inside I used another of Karen Burniston's pop up dies - the Rockin' Rectangle. I also used the second double decker bus cut apart on this one and a few more stickers from the sheet.

I made another trio of cards, and will be sharing those in the coming weeks.

Additional Supplies:
Santa Express Memories & More card pack - Stampin' Up
White cardstock
Peppermint embellishments - from my stash, but I linked similar ones for you below.

October Sheetload of Cards

Hello my crafty friends. It's the 2nd of the month and that means it's time for a new Sheetload of Cards. Since I'm on the YouTube Collaboration Team, I have all the details in my video:

Because I needed Halloween cards for our Grandkids, I decided to use this month's Sheetload to make Halloween cards and pulled out a bunch of older Doodlebug Designs items. Apparently I really like CUTE Halloween vs spooky.

Inside the grandkids cards, I stamped a sentiment and sprinkled a few more stickers around the words.

The remaining four cards got a stamped sentiment and a popped up jack-o-lantern using Karen Burniston's Mini Pops die. Such a quick & fun way to quickly animate something inside a card!

Be sure to check out my VIDEO and see how you can download your own Sheetload of Cards.  I'm not sure what Doodlebug products are still available, but I did find some to link for you below.

Fishing Slimline Pop Up Card

Hello!   This is the card I made to give our son for his Birthday ... he enjoys fishing, so I knew he would love this card. The Slimline die on the front is from Hello Bluebird and it cuts all the pieces away from the frame. Instead of using patterned paper as I would usually do, I die cut it from heavyweight white card stock and inked all the pieces with die inks. Then I spritzed them with water and let them dry before reassembling them puzzle style.  I have a walkthrough on YouTube with all the details:

For the inside, I stencilled right on the card base, then added some stamped die cuts. The leaping fish was adhered using Karen Burniston's Mini Pops. The Happy Birthday was die cut a couple of times from white card stock then stacked and glued one on top of the other. I fussy cut the vellum shadow layer.

This fish is such a nice size to use for cards! I stamped the verse on Karen Burniston's Crosshatch Rectangles which is where we signed the card.

Sunflower & Hello Pop Up Card

Hello! This is another of my Paper Pumpkin Alternate cards, using the June Paper Pumpkin kit (the yellow card base and pretty leaf printed vellum). Since it's is also Fun Fold Friday on my blog, this a pop up card.

The sunflower die was cut from white card stock and I added the colour with dye inks and blending brushes, adding Stickles inside the centre of each bloom. My right arm is still giving me some grief (tendonitis) so I have been keeping my comments to a minimum. I'm happy to say it is starting to improve, so less typing and video editing is definitely helping.

Here is a peek at the inside. I used patterned papers and Karen Burniston's Mini Pops for the Pop Up, and added the Thinking of You (also from Karen Burniston and linked below), and a butterfly into the lower corner.

For your convenience I have linked many of the products I used below. Some may be affiliate links which means if you use these links to purchase I may earn a small commission but there is NO extra cost to you.

Additional Supplies:
June Paper Pumpkin kit, Explosion in Color - Stampin' Up
Green card stock
Shimmer Spray
Water Colour Wings (butterfly die) - Stampin' Up (retired)
1/4" Quick Strips - Stamp Market
Patterned Paper - Brights 6 x 6", Stampin' Up

Ice Cream Pop Up Slimline

Hello!  Every year I send Ice Cream cards to my kids in honour of my Mom. When she was a little girl there was a parade in their small town each July and afterwards her dad (my Grandpa) would take her for an ice cream soda. She made sure to take my brother and I for ice cream on this day each July and I did the same with my kids and now my grandkids. When my Mom lived away from us for a few years, I started sending her Ice Cream themed cards since we couldn't be together for an ice cream sundae and now I make sure to send my kids and my brother an ice cream card in July.

I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube here

The ice cream stamps/dies are ones I've had for many years. I really do try to invest in products that I can use a lot, and while I have been getting a few new goodies in my craft room lately - a lot of thought goes into the majority of my purchases.

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Mini Pops to create the pop up. I did extend the arms by about 1", and if I decide it's something I want to do again I will also do a tutorial for you.

Here is Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Assembly Video:

For your convenience I have linked many of the products I enjoy using below. Some may be affiliate links which means if you use these links to purchase I may earn a small commission but there is NO extra cost to you.

Regarding the shopping links below, it looks like the Stamps of Life are clearing out the ice cream sets, so I'm not sure how long the links will work. Since I can't link the patterned paper I used, I am linking a different one (that I also own and love) that has a similar look.

Additional Supplies:
Patterned paper - Gilded Ink - Recollections
Seam binding
Shimmer spray
Grey topic
Gold foil card stock - Stampin' Up

Paper Pumpkin Alternate - Pop Up Trees Birthday Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing my second card with this older Paper Pumpkin kit, which is from May 2018 called "Manly Moments". It is now available as a card kit from Stampin' Up if you are interested in getting one - just contact your demonstrator!  I liked the card fronts as shown in the Paper Pumpkin pamphlet so the front of this card is pretty much identical to the one I shared earlier this week. But the insides are completely different even through they both use pop up dies by Karen Burniston!

I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:

Inside, I used Karen Burniston's Mini Pops to create the pop up platform for my trees, and used the 'throw away' pieces from the stickers on the card front to create the mountains behind them. I do go over that in the video. I also sacrificed one of the lovely woodgrain lined envelopes, cutting strips as decorative elements for this card.

If you are interested in seeing the assembly video for the Mini Pops, you can check out Karen Burniston's video here:

For your convenience I have linked many of the products used below. Some may be affiliate links which means if you use these links to purchase I may earn a small commission at NO extra cost to you.
