Birthday Tags

I love making tags, so pulled out these Topper Tag dies by Karen Burniston to make these Birthday tags for our daughter.  They looked so nice tied to the gifts, which had coordinating colours in the giftware.

I bought this birthday themed washi tape from Pinkfresh Studios last year (or the year before?) and added the whole role to panels of white card stock. You could also get coordinating dies to cut out the washi tape images as well as a coordinating stamp set that would also work with the dies. I didn't actually buy anything but the washi tape though and simply fussy cut the panels as needed.

Since there is some gold foiling on the washi tape, I added some narrow gold tape to the tags as well.

Valentine Tag Duo

The Topper Tags die set was in Karen Burniston's December release and I couldn't wait to play with them. I love making tags and there is a great variety of sizes in this set. This pair is decorated for Valentine Gift Bags and I was able to add some bulky embellishments from my stash.

Hanukkah Tags

Last year I bought a Hanukkah paper package by Photo Play and there was a 12 x 12" sticker sheet included. I didn't come up with a use for the eight number stickers but this year I decided to add them to tags for our daughter to use on Hanukkah gifts for our grandkids.

Then I made another eight tags and used up some of the smaller stickers on the sheet. These were quick and easy but not something she can easily buy so I hope she has fun with them. I also added strips of patterned paper from the package, narrow gold tape and some gold circle stickers for a little sparkle.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Halloween Tags for Kids

I like to give the Grandkids goodie bags for Halloween. Usually I use white gift bags, but this year I used heavy brown lunch bags instead. I had fun choosing the candy and party favour type gifts to add into the bags and then wanted bright and cheerful tags to add to the front of the bags.

I have had these 3d sticker embellishments in my stash for years. There was no packaging - I had them in a sandwich baggie - so I don't know where I got them or who makes them. But I have managed to use up most of them this year!

The tags were cut using the Celebrate Slimline Tag by Crafty Meraki and decorated with scraps of patterned paper and the stickers. I added some dots with my favourite dot stamp and wrote their names with a black pen.  I could have used pretty ribbon instead of the bakers twine at the top of the tags - but really, the kids are just going to tear into the bags so ... 😂

Dog Birthday Tag

 

Hello my crafty friends! In the late summer I saw a collection from Hunkydory called "Muddy Paws". I had my eyes on the 'Little Book Of Muddy Paws' and the foiled acetate but they were both sold out at several Canadian on-line retailers, However, I was able to get my hands on both and this is the one of the projects I'm sharing with a panel from the book. There are 4 of each design, and lots of different designs/dogs so I'm going to have fun creating dog themed projects.

Our son has a sweet little dog with similar colouring to the one that was on this panel. So I trimmed it into a tag shape and matted it with brown card stock. This tag was attached to his birthday gift bag. He loved it - and thought I must have painted it. (I didn't take the credit, ha ha.)

The sentiment is from a YNS set - I had stamped a bunch of them onto Fishtail Banners to keep on hand, so I pulled one out and mounted it with foam tape. I added his name with a black marker and finally added some shine with the Copper Pops of Colour.

Cute Halloween Gift Tags

Hello my crafty friends. I will be giving each of the Grandkids some Halloween goodies in a white gift bag so of course I had to make some cute Halloween Tags to tie onto the bags. I pulled out some black card stock, Doodlebug patterned paper, and a couple of die sets by Karen Burniston.  The Short Crosshatch Rectangles have become indispensable in my craft room so I used two of those for the tag bases.

One of the 12 x 12" sheets had all these smaller cutaparts, so I trimmed them down to fit inside a pierced black square cut with one of the dies in the Spinner Square Pop Up set. The tags were personalized with my label maker, and finally I cut the smallest circle from a Divinity Designs set for the tag reinforcement. Oh, and Olivia and Alma's got some iridescent gems on their tags.

These were a great way to use up both some partial sheets of card stock and patterned paper, and look SO cute tied on the white gift bags. ❤️.  This particular patterned paper might be retired, but I will link some other cute Halloween papers below.

Sparkly Dog Gift Tag

Hello my crafty friends. I'm back today with another gift tag using the Wrap It Up dies & stamps from Pigment Craft Co. I also pulled in a bunch of stuff from my craft room - the dog is from a no-longer-around company called Paper Smooches. It was stamped then covered with some double sided adhesive then Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Several years ago I made a bunch of these, so ... time to use one up at least.

I had just received my order from Studio Katia with their 'Simply Hi' items and had also ordered the Iridescent Ice Flakes. The larger ones will make great toppers for party hats, so I added one here. 

The blue polka dot paper was just a partial sheet so I got to use that up too. I added a dot of silver Stickles into each of the white spots for Birthday sparkle and shine.

I didn't realize the stamping was a little crooked until I was editing the photos ... oops!

Treat Yourself Tag

Hello my crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing the tag I made to add to a white gift bag for a family member who's celebrating a Birthday.  I had the patterned paper out since I'd used it to create another Sheetload of Cards, and thought it would make a cute tag. Then I pulled out stamps & dies from Pigment Craft Co.

The gift is some lovely teas from David's Tea and also one of her favs - dark chocolate Salted Caramels. They wrapped the chocolates for me at the shop, but the teas went into the white gift bag. I thought the 'Treat Yourself' was perfect!

Gold & Black Tag

Hello my crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing another gift tag using mostly supplies I bought from Pigment Craft Co when they were having their Canada Day sale. Love the size and shape of this tag - so different! I cut it from gold foiled paper (free with purchase from Stampin' Up during SALEabration).  I cut the tag again from white card stock and offset the two tags.

The gold pearl cardstock was sitting on my stamping table - it was just a partial sheet. Also close to me was the (retired) Garden Greenhouse from Stampin' Up so I cut some leaves using those dies. The stamped rectangle needed a little pop, so I die cut one of Karen Burniston's Border Blends from black card stock and tucked that up underneath for a cute scalloped look. Since I can't link the pearlized gold I used, I found others I can link for you.

The sequins & gems are from Studio Katia and there are gold gel pen highlights on the stamped sentiment.

Strawberry Tag

Hello my crafty friends. I've been having fun making tags these days, so here is another one using supplies from Pigment Craft Co.  I love the large size of this strawberry set and this was my first play with it. While I had everything out, I stamped and die cut 4 strawberries so I have more to create with.

The top photo shows the glitter from the Wink of Stella, but of course it's better in real life. The gift is for a friend, and I'm giving her a set of hand-made cards.

Tag Duo

Hello my crafty friends.  I have two long posts coming tomorrow (Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge AND the August Sheetload of Cards). Thus today's share is a quick one. I don't share a lot of my tags here but since I had nothing else for today I thought it would be better than nothing. 😊

I used dies from Pigment Craft Co, but the pony stamp is from Honey Bee. The plaid patterned paper was a partial 6x6" sheet in the package, and I was able to use that piece up on these two tags, which will be for my stash. Since I can't link that retired paper for you I found a few others that would also work.    

I did some outlining with a gold gel pen and also added some gold leafing along the torn plaid paper edge. You know I love a little sparkle & shine!

Snowman Tag

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a holiday tag created with this adorable new stamp set from Your Next Stamp called Magical Winter Wishes. There is a coordinating die set as well. 

I stamped the images on white card stock using my Mini MISTI and YNS Black Olive Ink then cut them out with the coordinating dies. Some colour was added with Copic Markers and then I added some sparkle with Stickles and set the images aside to dry.

The tag base is the largest die from the Wavy Stitched Circles die set. I cut it twice, once from white card stock and once from red. Then they were adhered together offsetting the red one for a different look. I stamped the sentiment and punched a hole to tie the red twine through.

When the glitter was dry, I adhered the images with different heights of foam tape for dimension.

Thanks Slimline Tag and Peacock Slimline Tag

Hello! Today I'm sharing two projects made with the new release at Crafty Meraki. Each Monday this month Crafty Meraki has added new items and today's tags use two of the new items being released ... the Thanks Slimline Tag and the stamp set is called Dance In The Rain.

For my first tag (oh, how I love that sweet scalloped edge) I inlaid the Thanks into the blue scalloped tag. It was cut from gold foil card stock. 

The images from Dance in the Rain were gold heat embossed on blue mirror card stock but all that shine is impossible to photograph. I added gold sequins and some shimmery ribbon & gold cording to finish it off.

My second project today uses the same Thanks Slimline Tag, this time I added a background pattern with blending brushes and a Heffy Doodle Stencil that is also available in the Crafty Meraki Shop. Then I spritzed it with shimmer spray so the whole tag is sparkly.

Once again it's hard to see in the photos, but the peacock was heat embossed with gold powder and coloured using Twinkling H2O's (a very shimmery paint). I've had them for many years and thought they might look good with the peacock, which is from Dance in the Rain. The sentiment from the set makes me smile ... it was also gold heat embossed. "People will stare. Make it Worth Their While".  Love that!

Hedgehog Tag Card

Hello! It's a new week and there is a new release at Crafty Meraki! Each week this month the Design Team is sharing lots of inspiration with the new products released each Monday. My Tag Card features the new "Just Quillin" stamp set. I used the "Congrats Slim Tag", which was released earlier this month along with the "Love" from the "Love Slim Tag" which is an older die in the Crafty Meraki Shop. All of the words from all of the Slim Tags work with all of the different tag shapes for lots of mixing and matching possibilities.

I cut the Congrats Slim Tag twice, once from black for the front and once from white for the back. I scored the white tag horizontally about 1" down from the top and adhered the two tags together by adding adhesive ABOVE the score line. Oh, and I did the stamping on the white tag before adhering them together.

Crafty Meraki New Release - Tag Gift Card Holder & Slimline Father's Day Card

Hello! This month is Crafty Meraki's Anniversary and they have a wonderful NEW RELEASE to celebrate. Spreading out the fun to last all month, each week in May there will be a portion of the new release available and the Design Team will be sharing inspiration with the release. Today I have TWO projects to share using this new release, which is called #merakiversary. 

For my first project, I made a Gift Card Holder with the new CONGRATS Slimline Tag. 

Both the Grad word and the Graduation Cap were cut from black mirror card stock, and the scroll was cut from white pearl card stock. That gives the Gift Card Holder some 'shine'! The background was stencilled with the Crazy Kaleidoscope stencil by Heffy Doodle, which is available in the Crafty Meraki Shop.

On the back of the tag, I added the CONGRATS. That was cut from black card stock and sprayed with shimmer spray for additional shimmer & shine.

My next project is a Slimline card with The Legend stamp set. It's a BIG stamp set with lots of images and sentiments in it. I chose this daddy bunny tossing his youngster into the air as the focus of my card.

The Three Room Studio Slimline die was cut from Kraft card stock and stencilled with the Wonderfully Woven stencil by Heffy Doodle, which is also available in the Crafty Meraki shop.

I used the Script and the Outline dies from the Happy Birthday Shadow Word Die, pairing it with the Happy Father's Day stamp from the stamp set.

Easter Bunny Tag

Hello! It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Your Next stamp, and #161 has a theme of "Sunshine and Smiles ... Include sunshine and/or smiles on your creation.

I chose this adorable smiling bunny from YNS's Spring Smiles stamp set to make an Easter Tag to tie onto one of the Easter Goodie Bags I'm handing out to our kids & grandkids this weekend. The images were coloured with Karin Water Colour markers. After die cutting with the coordinating die set, I added them to a layered Stitched Fishtail Banner.
