Pop Up Birthday Card w/ July's Sheetload of Cards

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog!  I finished off another one of the July Sheetload of Cards - this time it's a fancy-dancy pop-up Birthday Card. 😊

I added a foiled sentiment strip to the front. I haven't used my glimmer machine in months - it's REALLY difficult to remove the hot tray from the base so I tend not to want to use it. I actually wrenched my shoulder one time using it and was in pain for a few days. However, I did do a batch of foiling the last time I had it out and this sentiment is from the little bin of foiled words I have.

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Little Labels Pop Up - and added it to a simple box pop up to raise it up a bit inside the card. This is totally Karen B's idea - I think she taught in in a class last year and I have wanted to try it ever since. I tried to find the link for you but I have no idea where I ended up finding it when I was ready to make this card.

I added more of the patterned paper inside the card, and realized that the Washi Tape Balloons from Pinkfresh Studios matched the patterned paper AND the theme of the card. The entire roll of Washi Tape had been adhered to white card stock last year so I simply fussy cut the ones I wanted to use. I added another foiled sentiment, and a washi tape flower from a different PFS roll. Oh, and I added a stitched, scalloped circle to the centre label of the Little Labels Pop Up for a different look.

The final sentiment was stamped on one of the Labels Crosshatch and I added it inside the card, trimming off the bottom edge.

If you are curious about the pop up box, I used a strip of patterned paper that measured 6.75 x 3".  It was scored at .5", 1.5" and 2.5" then adhered inside the card. When it was dry I added the Little Labels Pop Up on top of it. Definitely a technique I will use again, since I love this die set with a 5x7" card.

I will keep working on finishing off this second Sheetload of cards and sharing them as I do.

'Sending Love & Hugs' Pop Up Card

Today I'm sharing the 14th card made with Paper Roses BEE HAPPY Cardmaking Kit. This one is a 7x5" Pop Up card and I have a walkthrough on YouTube:

The gold foiled bee stickers were attached to white card stock then fussy cut so I could pop them up with foam tape. I added some colour with alcohol markers and stamped the For You on the paper panel. The panel was trimmed from the 6x6" sheet to measure 4x6" then matted with black card stock

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Little Label Pop Ups and the last large ephemera piece from the kit (the sunflowers) . The upper sentiment stamp and punch are from Stampin' Up - since this card was mailed to a friend who wasn't feeling well.

One more look which shows the pop up a little better.

Pop Up Christmas Card

Today I'm sharing the October edition to my monthly series "12 Months of Christmas" and I made it a Pop Up card using dies by Karen Burniston.

I kept the front fairly simple, because all the fun is on the inside. Since the patterned paper pad is one I have had for several years, there are lots of partial sheets in it. One was a 12 x 12" sheet of borders so I trimmed a strip that included two borders and decided to add it on an angle to the sparkly plaid paper. This layout is based on the August '23 Sheetload of cards, which creates A2 cards. This one is a 5 x 7" card.

I added both the Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas shadow to the front as well as some gold snowflake peel off stickers.

Inside I used more of the border pieces and the Little Label Pop Up! Using the included decorator dies I cut gold frames for the outer two labels and added a sparkly peel off snowflake sticker in the centre. Then a larger snowman element was added to the center.

Here is a side view so you can see the Pop Up a little better.

The snowman pieces were all fussy cut from different papers in the package. Even though it's an older paper pad I still love getting it out every year to make a couple of holiday cards.

I added a space for a stamped sentiment (and where we will sign our names) using the Labels Crosshatch. Between the sparkle in the patterned paper, the gold metallic card stock, the narrow gold tape AND the gold snowflake stickers - this is a nice sparkly holiday card. 😊

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

September Sheetload Christmas Cards

Today I'm sharing my September Sheetload of Cards. This month is a special Sheetload - not just because it is for 5 x 7" cards (!!!) but it is also Alicia's 50th Sheetload! Amazing ... and I will have a link to the September Sheetload at the end of my post.

Even though I stepped down from the Sheetload Collaboration Team, I still enjoy doing the videos & have all the details of my cards on YouTube

I enjoy making 5 x 7" cards, so was particularly happy with the September Sheetload. I pulled out an older pad of paper and decided to go ahead and use full panels instead of the strips that following the Sheetload creates. I love that you can use the sketch as a guide and still create finished looking cards. I also wanted to USE UP as much of the paper a possible, as I have had it in my stash for too long. Two of the cards are pop up cards and I'll show those first.

As I said in the video, I added the pieces incorrectly on this first card but made it work anyhow. I also made it a pop up!

Inside I used Karen Burniston's new Twist Flower Pop Up to animate a flurry of die cut snowflakes.

The second pop up card is in a horizontal format since there was a 6 x 12" sheet of this patterned paper sitting in the package and I wanted to use it up. Love that you can rotate sketches to make them work for you!

Inside is another die by KB ... the Little Labels Pop Up. I added die cut snowflakes and a stamped sentiment inside.

The paper pad also had cut-aparts and I used a number of them on my cards. The one below was matted on gold to pick up the gold foiling in both the patterned paper and the cut apart.

Below is a peek at the inside, and all the remaining cards were done the same.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Paper Pumpkin Alternate Pop Up Card

Even though I made all the cards from this kit back in March, I decided to spread out sharing them by doing one a week. Since the colours and papers are very similar in the cards I didn't want all my posts to start looking the same! This week I'm sharing another Paper Pumpkin Alternate card using the March 2020 'No Matter The Weather' kit ... this one is a larger than A2 card that features a pop up inside.

I added Nuvo Glaze onto the green rubber boots so they are raised and shiny. 😊

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Little Labels Pop Up, cut from another sheet of the rainbow patterned paper, and added a fussy cut boots/greenery image for the centre front image.

I just poked around in my stamps to find sayings that I thought went well with the card.

... one more look ...

I'll be back next week with another alternate project with this kit

Winter Shaker & Pop Up Card

This fun card will be my last play with the "Magic of Winter' collection by Echo Park. This was sent to me by Scrap 'N Stamp Canada for our December 3rd Video Hop, which you can see HERE. I have used it a LOT - but I am finished with winter and snow and ready to move onto to brighter colours now.

I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube HERE

My card started with the Full Front Shaker, layered with the patterned paper onto a top folding 7 x 5" card. While that could have been enough for the card, I couldn't help adding a pop up inside. 😊

I added the Little Labels Pop Up, cutting it from a piece of the patterned paper and adding ephemera and stickers from the collection.

LOL - this sentiment is very true for me. I am NOT a fan of winter or being cold.

A couple of times recently, I was asked how many cards I make but I didn't have a clear number. Since a lot of my posts include more than a single card or project, I thought it would be fun to keep track this year.
2023 Tally: 21 Cards

Additional Supplies:
5 x 7" card and envy
Sequins and filler - stash

Little Label Pop Up Christmas Card Duo

Hello my crafty friends! I pulled out an older patterned paper pad for my card share today. These are the final two cards (of six) that I made with this paper pad and dies by Karen Burniston. I used the Little Labels Pop Up, one is a simpler version and the second one is 'stepped up'. I love how different the same die set can look!

I have all the details of these cards in my YouTube video:

The first card uses blue mirror card stock for lots of shimmer and shine. The cute crosshatch banners behind the Merry Christmas are part of Karen Burniston's new release!

This second card has a simple front with patterned paper layers and a foiled sentiment.

Check out all the gold foil and layers on the inside!

Even with all the layers, this card isn't very bulky and should mail for a single stamp. 😊

Additional Supplies:
Patterned paper - Holiday Wonder, Hobby Lobby (old, from my stash)
A7 Lacy Layers - Waffle Flower
5 x 7" Cards & Envelopes
Blue alcohol markers
Snowflake Mini Die Set - Divinity Designs
I'm linking a different blue mirror cardstock that I often use, as the other one isn't available

Pop Up Card for Canada Day

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog. I'm sharing another card for Canada Day, this time it's a Pop Up using Karen Burniston's Little Labels Pop Up. I pulled out some stamps from Wild Whisper (a Canadian company) but it appears these ones are no longer available on their website. I didn't do YouTube video, but here is a quick clip to show the card opening and closing:

I added the moose calf die cut to the left side and since I wanted a second one facing the other direction I cut it a second time then used my fingernail to sort of buff the rough edge of the underside so I could use the reverse side..  .

I really like the Little Labels Pop Up die set - and that it comes with so many different layering dies to decorate the Pop Up. The box platform across the bottom can be decorated any number of ways and here I used Karen Burniston's new Mini Alpha to spell out Canada Day. The included shadow dies are great for this alpha!

The scalloped border die that I used is many years old, but lots of companies have scalloped border dies so I will see if I can link a different one for you. They can easily be trimmed to the size you need. This card is a 6.5 x 5" card & envelope set that I got at Michaels.
I'll have to find a moose die to link as well!

Floral Pop Up Mother's Day Card

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog! While Mother's Day in Canada is over, I couldn't share this card earlier as I had used some of Karen Burniston's new release which we couldn't share until this week. I have a walkthrough of my card with all the details on YouTube:

Inside I used the Little Labels Pop Up, as well as stickers that were included in the paper package. I like that the Happy Mother's Day comes with the shadow die!

The centre pop up has one of the expanding butterflies from the Butterfly Collage Add On, and the rectangles on the lower portion are from the new Short Rectangles Crosshatch.

Instead of adding a banner or sentiment to the lower platform, I tied it with pink seam binding. The bow creates a little bulk but since I'm hand delivering the card that isn't a problem.
