Floating Kitty Pull Card

Hello my crafty friends

Today I'm sharing a card for the Fun Friday Challenge #117 at Your Next Stamp ...  TRIO - Use Three Of Something. All the details for the challenge can be found HERE.

I had coloured up this sweet floating kitty and three beach balls for one day of the 30 day Colouring Challenge I'm participating in on Instagram. Another day for the challenge I inked up this cool splash background - so I combined those two and one of my favourite older dies, the Spiral Circle Pull Card!

I adore the flamingo floatie! I added the three beachballs and three gumdrops for the challenge.

The notches hold the card in the closed position, but it opens easily when the recipient pulls on the sides.

Here is the inside:

I made this card for our Granddaughter Olivia. If you follow my blog, you know that Olivia (age 8) suffers from advanced Pulmonary Hypertension, which is a degenerative disease with no cure. She was diagnosed when she was three and the doctors didn't expect her to live to see four. But she is holding her own against this disease and this week she in ICU at our Children's Hospital as they are going to try a new and different medication. Which means, she will come off of the pump she has been on since she was three. Which also means she will also be able to have bath's and even swim. She is SO excited! We are all holding our breath and crossing her fingers that it all works out ... but at least if it doesn't and she crashes - she will be in the right place to get immediate help. Such an emotional time around here.

'Chill Out' Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a wintery pull card to share today.

I used the (discontinued) Spiral Circle Pull Card for my card base, cutting the patterned paper 2" wider than I wanted my finished card. I scored 1" down either side then folded it to the back of the card and adhered the folded strips to the back. This gives the card additional stability when the patterned paper card base isn't quite as heavy as a card stock one.

The pretty snowflake dies come with the Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) and these ones have pink Nuvo Crystal Drops added to the centres.

The notches hold the closed in the closed position until the recipient pulls the sides of the card to open it, which is my favourite part of this die set.

I added some additional fussy cut embellishments -- the large mitten label inside actually started as a 6 x 4" journal card for pocket scrapbooking.

I only had these few bits and pieces left in the package, so now I can say it's used up! There is still an almost untouched letter sticker sheet remaining, but I'm not counting that.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card - Karen Burniston, Elizabeth Craft Designs (retired)
Patterned paper etc- Fancy Pants
Nuvo Crystal Crops

Card size - 5 x 6"

Halloween Flip-its and a Pull Card

Good morning friends

Happy Halloween! Today I'm sharing the cards I made for our three Grandsons. I had so much fun making these Flip-It face cards! These were all over Pinterest several years ago and since I decided to finally make them I chose the October 2013 post at Paper Ecstasy for my inspiration.

First up is Franken Flip-It. EEK.

I drew his stitched mouth and scar with a black glaze pen, so they are slightly raised and shiny.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Next up is Dracula ...

Seriously, these were fun. I was grinning the whole time. Finally, here is a Ghost Flip-It. For this one I chose Karen Burniston's older Spiral Circle Pull Card for the card base, and I liked the way it worked for this type of card.

When you use the SCPC, it doesn't cut into the card back and I liked that look better. You can compare the inside of the Ghost card with the Frankenstein and Dracula insides above.

Oh, and when I cut the ghost, I chose not to cut the notches that hold the SCPC in the closed position which gave me a clean base to add the face to.

Pumpkin Spinner Pull Card

Good morning friends

I have a fun spinner card to share today, using one of Karen Burniston's older licensed dies (and truly one of my favourite dies ever) the Spiral Circle Pull Card. This time though I didn't cut the notches that hold the card closed.

Note, I first tried this with a Sizzix Flip-Its die and it does not work nearly as well as Karen Burniston's Pull Cards.

After cutting the card base, I nested two circle dies to cut the frames and the circle from the centre. The pumpkin stamp actually comes with a front and a back image, so after they were stamped, coloured and cut out I adhered them back to back with a piece of bakers twine in between the layers.

The ends of the bakers twine were attached to the top and bottom of my circle opening with a glue dot, then I attached the black card stock frames over the twine ends. Ta Da - spinner portion completed!

To make the spinner work, you wind it up then close the card and put it in the envelope. When the recipient opens the card, the pumpkin will spin around and around. So fun! Next time though, I will cut the notches that will up the surprise factor of the spinner with no chance of an accidental reveal.

Rather than add a stamped greeting inside, I added a stamped circle to the back along with another die cut spider. This kept the focus on pumpkin spinner on the front.

I'm so happy I ordered this black shimmer ribbon from Stampin' Up - it's so pretty! I also added a bit of shimmer to the die cut spider with a Wink of Stella pen.

This was a fun card too make, and had been on my radar for a long time. Glad to have finally done a Spinner Card and I will probably do more.

Supplies:
Pumpkin stamp (back and front!) - Stampin' Up
Copic markers
Wink of Stella
Bakers twine
Spiral Circle Pull Card - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs - discontinued)
Orange and black card stocks

Felt Turkey Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a quick and easy pull card to share today using one of my favourite Karen Burniston dies. Unfortunately the Spiral Circle Pull Card is discontinued, but I have my fingers crossed she will re-release it with her new company.

I decided I needed to simplify our fall cards for the Grandkids. There are 5 of them now, and I make my Mom's cards as well. So for any occasion I'm making ten different cards for them, and in October we have both Thanksgiving and Halloween. Which means TWENTY cards made for the grandkids in October!

I have had these felt embellishments for awhile now, and still have a couple left to use for the grands cards next Thanksgiving as well. For this card I actually covered the notches with the patterned paper, even though those pull card notches are part of the reason I love this die so much.

A little hand lettering and this card was done.

The Grandkids love receiving Happy Mail and they really do enjoy getting their cards. I'm certainly not complaining about making that many cards, I'm just going to make simpler cards for them in October.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs - retired)
Burgundy, white confetti card stocks
Felt embellishment - stash
Patterned paper - DCWV
Stitched circle dies - MFT Stamps
Hand Lettering
Chalks - Stampin' Up

Snowman Pull Card

Good morning friends

I have a holiday card to share today and I made it with one of my favourite dies, the Spiral Circle Pull Card. This is an older licensed design by Karen Burniston, and can be hard to find now but I sill like using it.

This snowman is fun - it's one of Karen Burniston's new release. You can adjust his height by moving the head further down on the body and his arms can be in different positions as well. The little green buttons? They are the centre pieces that fall out of the little wreath's from the House & Fence Pop-Up.

I used the scarf from the Winter Animals, another set in the new release.  It was too small, but cutting it twice and piecing the ends worked perfectly.

The notches hold the card in the closed position until you pull the sides to open the card. Here is a peek at the inside. On the left circle, I added a tree from the Winter Charms die set with a snowflake on top.

I'm still working on that clearance rack paper I purchased from Stampin' Up. It's amazing how many cards I've been able to make from that one package of double sided papers! Into my holiday stash with this one.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
White, black and brown card stocks
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up

Orange marker
Snowflake embossing folder - Cuttlebug

Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Words - not sure, possibly Hero Arts or Posh.

Card size - 5 x 5-1/2"

Lotsa Hugs Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Circle Pull Card to share today using Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card for the base. It's no secret I LOVE that die!

The notches hold the card in the closed position until the sides are pulled to reveal the inside. The flower is one of Krista Schneider's stamps (fussy cut) and coloured  with Copics & Twinkling H2O's.

The white circle is where we will write our message.

I filled the left side with Hugs die cuts - I haven't done that before but I like the look and will likely do it again.

Pretty Floral Card Duo

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have both a Flip-It card and a Pull Card to share today.

I had this pretty sheet of floral paper and when I couldn't decide which style of card to make, I decided to make both. First up is the Flip-It card, with a layered butterfly and die cut 'hello'.

We can write our message on the flip side of that centre square, which has a white card stock layer.

The second card uses Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card as the card base, and a bird/branch die I've had for a couple of years.

Here is the inside - the notches keep the card in the closed position until the sides are pulled to reveal the inside. Here I added a stamped and die cut banner.

Good morning friends

I have another card today made with the Poppy dies by Moda Scraps at Elizabeth Craft Designs. The card base for this one is a patterned A2 card and I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card die by Karen Burniston as well.

Like I did with yesterday's card, I added black Prills to the open poppy center.

The notches on the SCPC hold the card closed until you pull on the sides to open it. Inside I added a stitched heart, and the words Thinking Of You.

I will have another Poppy card to share tomorrow!

Baby Boy Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a baby pull card to share.  Joset at Elizabeth Craft Designs had a baby boy in January, and this is the card I sent to her & her family. I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card by Karen Burniston for the card base and some new stamps to decorate the circles.

The banner set on the front was free with Stampin' Up's Sale A Bration, and the sweet little bunny and bird are new Krista Schneider stamps available at Elizabeth Craft Designs. The corner dies are also ECD.

Inside I added a stamped and die cut banner, as well as another little stamped bird.

'Thinking of You' Pull Card With Flowers

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Thinking of You Z Fold card to share today. I used one of my favourite Pop it Ups dies - the Spiral Circle Pull Card, by Karen Burniston.

This was actually a card I started well over a year ago. I had the card base and circle elements cut and then it sat in my 'In Progress' bin. I am trying to pick away at that bin and finish some of these cards. They don't do anybody any good just sitting there half done!

I think I was unhappy (uninspired) by the monochromatic colour scheme I had going on - but once I added the black Washi tape and the black circles I was happier then to continue finishing the card.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - The Paper Studio
White card stock
Clock & Gears (circle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Paper Flowers - Recollections
Washi Tape - Stampin' Up
Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Words - Simon Says Stamps
Cream sheer ribbon
