Bird Double Display Birthday Card

Good morning friends

It's FUN FOLD FRIDAY on my blog, and I have another Double Display card to share today. Below is the card folded up and ready to be put in an envelope. It pops open as soon as you take it out of the envelope, so I had to hold it closed for this shot.

This was a great project to use up a bunch of little bits and pieces. The circles were leftover from different cards using the Circle Charm Pop-Up. I save them all in a little baggie right on my stamping table so I remember to reach for them. The bird patterned paper was also a leftover piece and now it's all used up!

I like how the flowers from Karen Burniston's  Upsy Daisy Pop-Up matched so well with the papers, so used them along with the wonderful Happy Birthday die. I sure get a lot of use out of that one!

The card and the layering sets are from Our Daily Bread, and I picked them up with a birthday $$ gift at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show in March. I like all the dimension you get with these cards!

This card is going into my stash for our eldest daughter's birthday. They display their cards on their fireplace mantle and the Double Display Cards display so nicely!

Supplies:
Double Display die and layer sets - Our Daily Bread
Pink and white card stocks
Patterned paper - My Minds Eye
Branch stamp - Stampin' Up
Nuvo Crystal Drops

Christmas Sweater Double Display Card

Good morning friends

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and today's share is a Christmas card.

The sweater die set is by Elizabeth Craft Designs, and I actually used it on a holiday tag last year. But when we were tidying up from gift opening I decided to add it back into my Christmas embellishment bin as I figured I could re-use it on a tag this year. However, it fit perfectly on Our Daily Bread's Double Display card so that is what I repurposed the Christmas sweater for!

I was working with this package of patterned paper from Stampin' Up anyhow, and I like all the coordinating patterns that work so well together.

Finally, here is a top view so you can see all the folds in a Double Display card. I would never tackle a card like this without a die set! And it all folds up and fits into a standard A2 envelope.

Supplies:
Red and cream card stocks
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Double Display and layer dies - Our Daily Bread
1055 Ovals Crosshatch - Karen Burniston
1056 Squares Crosshatch - Karen Burniston
Sweater die (recycled) - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Nuvo Crystal Drops
Words inside - MFT Stamps

C4C445 - Double Display Photo Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog! For July, our hostess is Rebecca Ednie and our Guest Designer is the amazing Teresa Kline of Paperie Blooms.

Rebecca's Challenge this week is "Make a Sympathy or Support/Hope card. By support/hope card I mean for someone with a very serious illness or who likely isn't going to survive their illness. Or for the family of that person. These are sad, serious cards to have to make but they are good to have in your stash. It's unfortunate but you  never know when you might need it."

Circumstances helped make my card choice easy, as I'd been talking to a far-away friend who's Grandma had fallen and was in Hospice. She and her Grandma had always been very close, and I knew how much she was hurting.

I used the Double Display die set for my card today, and added a die cut scribble heart and the word 'love' to the card front.

During our conversation she had texted me a photo of she and her Grandma before the fall, so I knew it would be perfect to add to her card. I printed out the photo on my Instax SHARE printer, and used Lynda Kanase's Photo Frame and Borders to cut a matching frame for the photo. I love how perfectly these photos work with this card type!

I like the butterfly that comes with Karen Burniston's Circle Charm Pop-Up so added a pair of them to the card with gold gel pen highlights.

A few vine die cuts were tucked in behind the photo and they also have gold gel pen highlights.

I adhered magnets to the back side of the card, before I added the decorative panel, and the opposite magnets to the back of the photo. That way when she is done with the card, my friend can keep the photo.

It was so good to actually get to visit with my friend last month, give her a hug and this card. Unfortunately her Grandma passed the week after I gave it to her, but I know she will have many happy memories of her Grandma to carry her through.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C445.

Fancy Fold Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

I found this cool die set at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show, called the Double Display. I hadn't seen these cards before so I was excited to try it. My family gave me money for my birthday because I knew I'd be going to the stamp convention and wanted to be able to purchase some goodies there. So this set was actually a gift from my Mother-in Law for my birthday!

This is the first time I used the die and I made an Anniversary card for my hubby. The front features a pretty die cut heart from Elizabeth Craft Designs cut from sparkly paper.

Look at all those folds!

For the inside I used some dies by Lynda Kanase of Sizzix. I printed a photo of us using my Instax SHARE printer, then used one of Lynda's Photo Frames to cut the frame from coordinating patterned paper. I love how easy it is to customize the Photo Frames!

I also used the words LOVE and the XOXO from a different Photo Frame set and cut away the words from the decorator panels. After backing them with black to make them stand out, I adhered the panels and photo to the card.

I will say that hubby really liked his card, and put it on his work area as it stands up so well on it's own. Yay!

Supplies:
White, black and yellow card stocks
Patterned paper - DCWV
Fancy Heart die - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Photo Frame, I AM Phrases - Lynda Kanase
Photo Frame and Words - Lynda Kanase
Photo Frame, Celebrate - Lynda Kanasse
