I had so much fun making this card and the front uses a stencilled background, a sticker and a digital stamp.
Here is a peek at the pop up inside, with a stamped sentiment, a Stamploration Coffee word die at the top of the white panel, and a to-go cup on one of the pop up arms from the Upsy Daisy Pop Up by Karen Burniston. I also added a little more stencilling using a Slimline Stencil from Stamplorations. That is where the fun clear sticker on the card front came from too.
This 'to go' cup by Stampin' Up is long retired but I still love it and continue to use it. I really like all the height and dimension you get with the Upsy Daisy Pop Up and I'm having fun using it with Slimline cards these days.
I will be back tomorrow with another coffee themed card for the Blog Hop. 😊

Today I'm sharing my last Halloween card for the year - and it's probably my favourite one. I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube with all the details so I'll keep my comments here to a minimum.
The skeleton had been in my stash for many years, and this year I actually assembled it and got it onto a card! The striped patterned paper has lots of sparkle, and the bats are also shiny. Just for fun, I added the skeleton to a (trimmed) Action Wobble and he bobs and wobbles on the front of the card. So fun!
Inside, I used one of the arms from the Upsy Daisy Pop Up to animate the cat & pumpkin. Those elements are stickers that were adhered to white card stock and fussy cut.

Today I'm sharing another sneak peek of the new release by Karen Burniston! I used the Long Nature Edges to create the curvy edge on my Slimline card. This die has stitching lines above and below the cutting line so one pass through your machine gives you two curved edges both with stitching marks.
The Holiday House set has a cute holiday lights die and I used half of it at the top of the frame after colouring it with Ohuhu markers. Then I added glossy accents on those as well as on the fussy cut cactus lights.
I cut the patterned paper about 3 x 8.5", then used the 'ground' die from the Long Nature Edges about 1/3 of the way down the card. The top portion was adhered right to the top edge of my card base, and the bottom portion was adhered right along the bottom edge. This gave me a ~1/2" area to add a sentiment. Of course, I gave the front of my card a spritz with a shimmer spray! Then I adhered the Seasons Greetings die cuts.
The Slim Frames are made to work with Slimline cards, and here I cut one from some coordinating patterned paper from the pad and I added a piece of acetate to resemble glass. I fussy cut one of the cactus images from a leftover piece of the patterned paper and popped it up on top of the frame. I knew I wanted to add glossy accents to the holiday lights otherwise I would have added it under the acetate.
Inside, I used one of the arms from the Upsy Daisy Pop Up. I've been playing with those arms lately and I love how well they work inside a Slimline Card. It's always great when you find even more uses for an older die set!
The sentiment is a cutapart from the patterned paper pad, as is the border and fussy cut barrel cactus inside.
Below is a better look at how much dimension you get using the Upsy Daisy Pop Up but it still fits inside a 3.5" deep Slimline card!
I have lots of ideas with this 'split' technique, including having a bright rainbow striped patterned paper showing through a subtle print or solid card stock. Small images can be placed in the space as well - remember you can make that opening as wide or narrow as you wish!

Today I'm sharing a Thanksgiving card that is also a pop up. I have a YouTube Video for you as well.
When I'm finished making my Thanksgiving (or Halloween or ...) cards for the year, any leftover embellishments etc go in a baggie or container to be used the next year. Trouble is, I don't usually open that container! This year though, I used up a bunch of items from the Thanksgiving baggie, including this pretty copper embossed foiled 4 x 6 panel! It came to me several years ago on a recycled card and this year I decided to actually USE it. After adhering it to patterned paper and adding a sentiment, the whole card front got a blast from a shimmer spray.
Inside, I used one 'arm' from the Upsy Daisy Pop Up for the pop up action - a die set by Karen Burniston. I've been playing a fair bit with those arms, including using them for Slimline pop up's. But of course I rarely post things in the same order I create them so those cards will be shared in the coming weeks.
The pumpkins are Peel Off's from Elizabeth Craft Designs, added to double sided adhesive then sprinkled with their Silk Microfine Glitter and burnished really well. They were done so long ago though, I can't remember if I used Copic markers or Tombow's and a blender pen!
It's hard to see in the photos, but I also sprayed inside the card with the Shimmer Spray - but you can see the sparkle in the video. Welcome to Karen Burniston's April 2019 Designer Challenge, with the theme: "EASTER OR SPRING" - incorporate the Easter charms, Spring animals or Happy Spring into your project with an Easter or Spring theme. Here is the front of my card. The patterned paper has embedded sparkle in it and I added a double layer of the Crosshatch circles. The top layer was actually cut from white card stock and I added the soft polka dots with a stencil.
I coloured the die cut chick and eggs with Chameleon Color Tone markers, for a nice gradient colour. Snipping off the 'Happy' from the Happy Spring I was able to change the greeting on the front to read "Celebrate Spring". When I was looking at the photos though, I wish I had cut away the explanation mark from the Celebrate but it is glued down now and I didn't want to risk messing up the card by attempting to remove it.
Inside I used the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up to animate a polka dot egg on each outer panel and a little Easter scene on the centre panel. The eggs each got the same polka dot stencil using soft colours.
The chick from the Easter Animals is SO cute - I just love him! Rather than use Bakers Twine to tie the three panels together, I added a white card stock square turned on the diagonal & adhered to one of the egg panels.
The Happy Easter was also coloured with Chameleon markers, this time I used the Color Tops to get both pink and orange from a single marker. Then I went over the die cut with a glitter pen for some pretty sparkle and shine.
Below is a side view so you can see the dimension you get with the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up.
Finally, for those that like to pin fronts and insides to their Pinterest boards, here you go.

Welcome to Karen Burnsiton's February 2019 Designer Challenge! The theme is:
"LOVE, SWEET LOVE!" - let's add a twist to our usual February love cards and add . . . chocolate! Incorporate a chocolate element into the card.
I saw 'chocolate' and immediately thought of donuts. HA - there is no reason for this, as if I ever DO get a donut, it's typically the honey glazed and not a chocolate glazed or chocolate donut. At any rate, since I had donuts on the brain that is what I went with for my card.
I used the new Border Blends Party as well as the 'You're Sweet' ... since donuts are sweet, right? I also kept the front nice and simple because all the FUN is on the inside.
I always say that all the dies by Karen Burniston 'play nicely together', so I combined some of the new release with some older dies and everything goes together seamlessly. Love that. The Upsy Daisy Pop-Up gives a lot of dimension, and it's always such a fun surprise for the recipient to see the dangling centre rectangle.
I added more of the Border Blends Party to the inside top, as well as the new 'Love You'.
I used black card stock and the owl's eye die for the black 'dot dot dot' at the end of the 'love you so the greeting inside reads "Love You... ... more than DONUTS!" .
I added two owls from the new Feathered Animals, one on either side square. Each one looks a little different as I added the extra feathers to the right owl's head and lengthened the feet on the left owl. They are each holding a donut from the Sweet Treats Charms and I added Nuvo Crystal Drops so the entire icing part is raised and shiny with a touch of glitter. I also inked the edges of the kraft donuts so they would look more like chocolate donuts.
The donut embellishment on the centre was actually fussy cut from a piece of patterned paper from the stack. I added the same Nuvo Glitter Drops to the hearts and sprinkles as well as a black glaze pen detail on the eyes and mouth so they are nice and shiny.
I penned the 'more than DONUTS' with a black marker on one of the Crosshatch Ovals, and plan to write 'even the chocolate ones' when I go to send the card.
For some added interest, I twisted together two of the 'twigs' from the Border Blends and added some pink foil sequins. The sequin die comes with the Rockin' Rectangle, which is also part of the new release.
Below is a side view so you can see the pop-up a little better.
Finally, for those that like to add 'fronts and insides' to your Pinterest boards ... here you go!

For some reason this year, I just could not get into Autumn themed colours or cards. I'm just craving bright and happy colours, so when I needed to make a Thank You card I pulled out this sheet of patterned paper. I also grabbed the Lever Card die set and Lever Card Layering dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.
The panel with the Thank You pivots from the front to the inside when the card is opened.
I added the cute mouse from Karen Burniston's Christmas Animals, the flower from the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up die set, and a stitched cloud from the Outdoor Scene set. The Thank You is also from Karen Burniston and is one I get a lot of use out of.
I trimmed the right leaf off of the flower stem so it would fit better in between the mouse's paws, and also had to trim off the tail and rearrange it so that it would fit on the card panel without sticking out.
I can write my message on the white Fishtail banner area, which I matted with turquoise and added some Bakers Twine at the top edge.

Today I'm sharing the card I made for the Paper Pro's Challenge "Seeing Spots". I added sparkly polka dot paper strips to my card front, and I think the apples in the basket inside could even count towards the challenge. I love making challenges my own!
I cut two sprigs from the new Autumn Elements and adhered them over the burlap trim with a white bakers twine bow. Both the fussy cut apple element and the recipe patterned paper layer have shiny embossed bits.
Inside I used one of the arms from the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up to animate the fussy cut "I pick you" barn wood element and added a couple of apples from the Autumn Elements.
I also added 'welcome fall' from the new Word Set 7 Autumn. Love it cut from red!
Our signing block is on the right side, accented with another die cut apple and a bit of burlap trim. You have a better look at the shine on the apples in the photo below.
The Paper Pro's challenge is a casual one, with a varying number of participants each month.
Every July there was a parade in the small town my Mom grew up in, and after the parade her dad would take her for an ice cream soda. So every July we make a point to get together for ice cream, and I always make her a card to celebrate our 'ice cream in July' day. For my card this year, I pulled out a country print paper stack with silver foil accents and the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up by Karen Burniston.
I used the new Alpha to cut the "M"'s for MOM, using the silver foiled heart for the 'O'.
Inside I used the new Beach Charms, Sweet Treat Charms and the the Alpha again. I like how you can personalize a card with the Alpha die set. And the Upsy Daisy is so fun - and different than anything else out there.
