Panda and Cake Pop Up Birthday Card

I was supposed to post this yesterday for Fun Fold Friday on my blog, but I have no idea where the time goes! This is the birthday card I made for our grandson who loves Pandas. I haven't used this panda face die in a long time so I pulled it out and die cut it into white card stock. The die cuts the face/ear openings rather than the head so I backed the white panel with black glitter paper to show through the openings. 

There is often an indent left from the die that actually forms the head so I LIGHTLY went over that with a soft pencil and blending it out with a fingertip. It gives just a hint of the head shape but I like the effect. There was a strip of the rainbow paper sitting on my stamping desk so I matted it with black glossy cardstock (another scrap) and added a white heat embossed sentiment. 

I have shown these sentiments in video's before - they are the Simple Strips from Taylored Expressions and I just stamp, emboss and die cut a whole bunch of them at a time and store them into a clear plastic envelope. Saves so much time when I go to make a card!

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Twist Circle Pop Up since this grandson loves a pop up card. I decorated it with some older stickers from my stash and added a stamped sentiment onto the white panel. That is also where we signed the card.

Metallic Leaves Thanksgiving Card

Hello my crafty friends. Today I'm sharing a 5 x 7" card for Thanksgiving, using an A2 sized background die. I cut the leaves background die from metallic card stock then added small bits of foam tape to the more solid areas on the back side. I like the shadows that show up when the panel was mounted to a slightly larger white card stock panel!

The patterned paper has gold foiling on it, and both the sentiment and the background die were cut from a subtly patterned metallic card stock so this card has lovely shimmer and shine.

Teacher Thank You Pop Up Card & Gift Card Holder

Hello!  This 5 x 7" Teacher Thank You Card is also a Pop Up and I have a video on YouTube here: 

I added Wink of Stella to the glove, the word BEST and the polka dot apple on the cut apart. That was popped up onto a stitched scalloped panel with thin foam tape.

Inside is the Pop Up, and the apple die is from Your Next Stamp.

I made a coordinating Gift Card Holder as well, and those measurements were in the video.

The Thank You with Layers that I added inside the Gift Card Holder is by Divinity Designs, the Thank You inside the card is from Karen Burniston.

This was a set I made for our eldest daughter, who home schooled our three grands. Olivia has Pulmonary Hypertension, a rare degenerative disease with no cure and to keep her safe and isolated they went the Home Schooling route. I wanted something special to recognize her efforts, so we drove out with a bouquet of flowers. The grandkids came out and quietly signed the card and then they went into the yard carrying them for their Mom. Who was very surprised and happy!

Cup of Spring Mini Slimline Trifold Card

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, which I will link below. I made a Mini Slimline Trifold Card using goodies from Your Next Stamp, who is one of the amazing sponsors of this massive Blog Hop. I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:  

I chose the Cute Blooms for my card today - who wouldn't love a cup full of Spring blooms! After water colouring and die cutting with the coordinating die (see? It even cuts out the areas between the cup and the handles) I gave it a spritz with my shimmer spray. For even more sparkle I added some sequins.

You open the left flap and see the smaller right flap, which on this card just has a panel of patterned paper. Sometimes I add a sentiment or coordinating image to this panel.

Below is the card displayed fully open. The image from Cute Blooms was stamped in a light colour ink on the white panel, then I stamped Happy Spring over it with a dark ink. One single sequin adds the sparkle.

To create the card base for my Slimline Trifold, cut card stock 8-1/2 x 8-1/2". Score 3" from left edge and 2" from right and you can decide whether to use the 2" flap on the right or left side. I change it up often! NOTE:  There is a label on the right side of my blog called Trifolds if you want to see more of them in a variety of sizes. Decorate the panels as desired.

March 2021 Sheetload of Cards

Hello! YAY - it's time for another Sheetload of Cards and this month's sketch is another winner.  It yields nine cards and calls for two 12 x 12" sheets of patterned paper. I am one of the Sheetload of Cards YouTube collaborators and I have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube. 

Today is the day all of the collaborators (YouTube, Blogs, Instagram) are sharing their creations and I can't wait to see what they came up with. All of my cards are Birthday Cards that will be donated to my Mom's old nursing home. I used my MISTI stamping tool to quickly stamp both birthday sentiments at a time onto the die cut circles so that made things go quite fast. 

All of the cards are the same inside, with a stamped greeting on a white panel that had been punched with the Sprig Punch.

Because I wanted to share an alternate - the Sheetload of Cards come with measurements for creating a single card if you choose - I made a boy's Birthday card for my stash.

It's fun to change up the sketch to work for your needs and supplies!

January 2021 Sheetload of Cards

Hello!  Today I'm sharing my cards made using the January 2021 Sheetload of Cards. Sheetloads are the brainchild of Alicia at Call Me Crafty Al on YouTube and are free to subscribers of her YouTube channel. You can find the January Sheetload HERE.

I pulled out some bright patterned paper from my stash and got the nine cards done - these will be donated to my Mom's old nursing home where I donate 25 Birthday Cards each month. I have a walk through of my cards on YouTube HERE so I'll keep my comments here to a minimum. 

I used some metal rimmed tags from my stash for the sentiment on the card fronts and was happy to use some of them up! These ones had been stamped for Christmas Tags but were very basic and plain and every year I looked at them and then chose other hand made tags instead. Time to use them! I covered the stamped image with a stitched scalloped circle and saved the strings to use on other projects.

I used an embossing folder to add raised dots to the black fishtail banners. 

Inside I stamped a greeting - all nine cards got the same one inside, but I coordinated the ink with the colours of the sentiment on the fronts.

Thinking of You Pop Up Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing a pop up card made with products from Karen Burniston and Studio Katia.  I noticed that I don't have many floral stamps or dies, so have purchased a couple of those ... this lovely tea cup & flowers is one of my new stamps from Studio Katia. 

I stamped it on Bristol Smooth card stock, embossing with gold embossing powder and coloured them with Zig markers. The textured background was die cut from pale green mirror card stock and I added the Thinking of You and some sparkle with gems & confetti.

Inside, I used the Katherine Label Pop Up with a fun stamped greeting on a matted scalloped circle. The floral portion of the teacup stamp was added to the inside bottom right corner of the white panel, and also on either side of the envelope front.

I love all the height you get from the Katherine Label Pop Up!

Thinking of You Pop Up Card

Hello crafty friends

Today's card uses some Doodlebug cut aparts and a Pop Up die from the Stamps of Life. I talk about some of the details on the card in my YouTube video here:

The Hello Sunshine cut apart was square, so I added a little Doodlebug patterned paper on either side and covered the seams with Bakers Twine. That gave me a perfectly sized A2 panel.

The Thank You 3-D Drop Ins makes a great generic pop up if you don't use the Thank You dies, so that is what I did here, cutting it from cheerful patterned paper in my stash.

The critters are also Doodlebug cut aparts that were each on a 2" square. I simply fussy cut them from the sheet and popped them up with foam tape.

This is one of the cards I am sending out for Happy Mail!

Cactus Flip It Card

Hello crafty friends

It's been awhile since I made a Flip-It Card, so while I had these stickers out I decided to go ahead and make one using some cactus printed papers from my stash. I added a Hello from Karen Burniston's Word Set 6 Summer, since I'm sending out a lot of Happy Mail these days.

There is room to write a short note on the flip side of the circle, and also on the back.

I still get a lot of use out of my (retired) Stampin' Up Banner Punch, so used it here punching little banners from scraps of patterned paper in the package. I also added a tiny clear cactus sticker onto the white stitched circle.

I think I have enough Happy Mail cards in my stash now, even though I keep sending cards out each week.

Succulent Explosion Pop Up Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends ...

This card just makes me happy. One, it's a Slimline card which is a format I'm really enjoying because it's so different than the A2 cards I've been making for over 30 years. (Gasp). Two, it has succulents on it which I also love. Three, I was able to combine a pop up die set by Karen Burniston to make this a pop up card. Win Win Win!

The front was quick and easy, but has lots of sparkle and shine from the Glitter Dots, the Peel Off gold corners and the gold foil shadow for the Hello die.

I used the Explosion Pop Up for the inside, and I really like how well these cards stay open for display.

More sparkle and shine inside, with gold gel pen highlights, gold Peel Off border stickers, and I also added two more gold Peel Off corners on either side of the pop up step.
