Eight Mini Slimline Cards for Thanksgiving

This year I really wanted to USE UP this older 6x6" paper pad by Lawn Fawn and today I'm sharing the final cards made with it. YAY and WHEW.  It always feels so good to use up a paper pad!

I went through my fall embellishments, and pulled out a baggie with these printed and fussy cut animal elements. I don't know where I got the file from originally as these were printed a long time ago. But since I will need five Thanksgiving cards for the grandkids, I decided to go ahead and just use up the paper and most of these elements. I'm happy with how they turned out.

The elements had been printed on glossy photo paper so they have some shine - and I punched a sprig from gold cardstock scraps on the outside and scraps of green patterned paper for the inside.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

Card Tally for 2023
January - 53 cards
February - 56 cards
March - 55 cards
April - 32 cards
May - 43 cards
June - 34 cards
July - 56 cards
August - 106 cards
September so far - 57 cards

I decided to cancel the subscription that provided linked thumbnails to what products I used on my cards. It was costing me out of pocket each month, so I’m back to listing what I used with a few affiliate links included.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Fall Fling 6 x 6" Lawn Fawn
Printed digital file - unknown
Cross Stitch Ovals - Tutti Designs
Sentiments - Autumn Greetings, Simon Says Stamp
Catherine Pooler Inks
Gold foil cardstock - Stampin' Up
Sprig Punch - Stampin' Up

Six Stashbuster Birthday Cards

I made it a goal to use up this older 6 x 6" paper pad and came up with these six cards to donate to my Mom's old nursing home. I have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube:

I also used up a bunch of older elements (some digital clip art, some from Doodlebug) these cards are truly stash busters. I used up all but three strips of the patterned paper, and will make three Mini Slimline with those and that paper pad will be finished. I sure do love to use things up!

Canada Day Video Hop + Over $1300 in Giveaways!

Hello! Today I’m joining a group of Crafty Canadian YouTubers and we’re celebrating by featuring Canadian craft products and shops. A total of 16 shops and 2 Canadian papercraft magazines have generously sponsored today’s event and we’re giving away over $1300 in prizes! We have over 40 individual gift certificates ranging from $25 to $100, a one-year subscription to Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, and a grand prize package worth $150 from Scrapbook & Cards Today.  There will be a full list of the prizes on Emily's Blog: I'm featuring products from several of our sponsors (Scrap 'N Stamp, Your Next Stamp, Studio Katia and Angie Blom Digital Designs), to show you four different cards! After you’ve finished watching my video, please leave a comment for your chance to win, and then click on the link in the description below for the next person in the hop. More details on that lower down in my post.

Below are the three cards I made using the Party Palooza kit, (linked in the supplies) which Scrap 'N Stamp kindly sent me to use for the Canada Day Video Hop. 😊

There is a LOT to cover so I will keep my card details to a minimum here on my blog. I did go over everything in the video!  The first card is a 'faker shaker' with a Pop Up inside. I have a video link for tutorials on both the 'faux shaker' and the simple box pop up in the description box of the video.

Card #2 is a clear card, and the birthday sentiment and signing area is hidden when the card is closed.

Card #3 has a stencilled background, a fun shaker on the front and inside is a place to insert a Gift Card.

Finally, since this is Canada Day, I created a Mini Slimline Fold Flap card using a sweet digital stamp by Angie Blom Digital Designs (also linked in the supplies). I used the white and the black card stocks that were included in the Party Palooza Card Kit as well.

If you get lost along the way, please head to Emily’s blog for the full list of participants and for shop coupons as well (yay!!)

Flowers and Feather Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing a Slimline Birthday Card that uses this lovely feather & flower digital stamp from Angie Blom Digital Designs. I thought it was just lovely and I was glad to finally print one off to colour and mount on a card. With digital stamps, you get to choose the size so I was able to size it to work with a Slimline, but you could size it for an A2 or other card/project if you prefer.

'They' keep changing our social media platforms, and Blogger is no different. I am going to try to add a quick video here so you can see all the sparkle and shine on my card, but I won't know until the post goes live if it actually worked or not! Fingers crossed.

I used the Slimline dies from Studio Katia for my layers, and of course added lots of sparkle as well.

The sentiments are from the Simple Strips Birthday by Taylored Expressions.

Here is a peek at the inside, where I added two die cut feathers and a pretty sentiment.

Supplies:

Feather dig stamp - Be Unique Feather, Angie Bloom Digital Designs
Copic markers
Sakura white gel pen
Dotted Slimline Dies Set 1 - Studio Katia

Tiny Attacher - Tim Holtz
Simple Strips Birthday - Taylored Expressions
Simple Strips die - Taylored Expressions

It's Your Birthday - Studio Katia

Card size - 3.5 x 8.5", fits in a #10 Business Envelope

Slimline Whale Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends ...

This was such a lovely image from Angie Blom Digital Designs, I couldn't wait to use it. I added it into the App Procreate on my iPad, and used water colour brushes to add the base colour before printing. I know I'd be making a Slimline card, so I sized it to fit. That is the fun thing about digital stamps - you can size them for your particular needs. Over and over again!

Once it was printed, I added additional colour and details with Copic Markers and pens. then used Slimline dies from Trinity Stamps to create the shaker card.

Wanting something to fill the lower left corner, I die cut the shells from Elizabeth Craft Designs. A stamped greeting and some more bling and the card front was done.

Inside I had printed the sentiment that comes with the whale image, and added another whale and two more spouts. The inside scalloped panel is from LDRS Creative.

I actually don't have anyone in mind for this card, but it will be a fun one to send out when someone needs a lift.

Supplies:
White and purple card stocks
Digital Stamp - Get Whale Soon, Angie Blog Digital Designs
Copic Markers
Sakura white gel pen
Slimline Scallop die - LDRS
Acetate
Mallow Crystals - Studio Katia
Sparkling Sea Confetti - Studio Katia
Other shaker filler from my stash
Slimline Scalloped - Trinity Stamps
Spooky Satin Confetti - Studio Katia
Pearlized blue card stock
Large Seashell dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
'Just keep swimming stamp' - Narwhales, Pink & Main

Card size: 8.5 x 3.5"

'May The Forest Be With You' Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends ...

When I did the Canada Day Video Hop video, I shared the sheet of card stock that I printed with digital stamps from Angie Blom Digital Designs. She had generously donated several digital kits to the Video Hop participants, and I loved them so much I went to her online shop and purchased a few more. These trees & clouds are from the Camping Adventures digital kit. Since they were printed on the same sheet as the Maple Leaves for treat holders - I wanted to get this piece coloured and onto a card. I added colour quickly using chalks and q-tips, then added additional colour with Copic markers.

I cut the tree design into a square with a Your Next Stamp Stitched Square die, then grabbed this tan plaid patterned paper scrap from my stash so it would fit on an A2 card. 'May the Forest be with you' is included in the Camping Adventures set, so I sized it to fit on a stitched fishtail banner before printing.

The stamps inside, and the leaping child on the front are from Colour Layering stamp sets from Hero Arts, which are listed in the supply list below.

I really enjoyed making this card, and it will go into the bin to be donated to my Mom's old nursing home. I like to include some masculine cards as well as generic and more feminine ones.

Supplies:
White and kraft card stocks
Stitched Square Die Set - Your Next Stamp
Camping Adventures - Angie Blom Digital Stamps
Chalks - Stampin' Up
Q-Tips
Copic Markers
Fishtail Banner - MFT Stamps
Blueprints #12 - MFT Stamps
Kraft plaid patterned paper - scrap from my stash
Boy - Color Layering Pier at the Lake, Hero Arts
Stitched Rectangle Die Set - Your Next Stamp
MISTI - My Sweet Petunia
Inside stamps - Color Layering Mountains At The Lake, Hero Arts

Card size - Standard A2 (4.25 x 5.5")

Canada Day Treat Holders

These Treat Holders were made using the Your Next Stamp Treat Topper die, a digital stamp from Angie Blom Digital Designs and some clear 'drops' from Studio Katia. They are for our Grandkids and have Maple Cookies inside the cello bags.

For the backing piece, I cut white card stock to 3.5 x 6", wrapped the cello bag around the top and stapled it, Then the Treat Topper wad attached with double sided tape.

Crafty Wishes Treat Holder

This second Treat Topper is decorated with the FUN Craftastic set from Studio Katia. I also added some of their pearls and crystals for a little somethin' somethin'.

Canada Day Explosion Card

I had fun making this Explosion Card using digital images from Angie Blom Digital Designs, and the greeting is from the Happy Celebrations stamp set from Studio Katia.

Note, I cut down my text weight paper to 8 x 8" after it had been printed.

Maple Leaf Z-Fold Card

If you follow my blog you know I love Z-fold cards! This one uses this lovely heart filled Maple Leaf digital image from Angie Blom Digital Designs. I also added some confetti, the patterned paper and a stamped greeting using goodies from Studio Katia.

Slimline Oval Shaker Card

I also LOVE making Slimline cards, so really enjoyed combining the new Dotted Slimline Die Set One from Studio Katia with the Beautiful Butterflies stamps & dies from Your Next Stamp. The pretty confetti and bling is also from Studio Katia.

Here is a peek at the inside, where I used an additional stamp set from Your Next Stamp and a little more Studio Katia bling.

This was a huge undertaking, put together by the amazing Emily Leiphart. The sponsors were so generous & excited to be a part of this Canada Day Video Hop! I want to thank everyone who was involved and I hope you hop along for all the inspiration we have for you.
