Bright & Cheery Flower Pivot Panels

Hello!  It's an exciting day for fans of Karen Burniston as today the Design Team can start to their projects made with the new release! I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube.

While this isn't the first card I made with the release, it is the first card I'm sharing - I rarely post my cards in the same order I make them. This card is a side folding Mini Slimline Card and decorated the front with rectangles from the new SLIM FLAPS AND FRAMES. 'From the Garden' is from the previously released Garden Charms, but the HELLO is from the new WATERFALL CARD die set. The hello part is a re-release from a retired set and I'm so happy that it's back. It's the perfect size to add a little greeting to your cards.

As I showed in the video if you die cut a single bloom from a scrap of card stock and use the negative area as a stencil, you can create custom backgrounds!

Inside I used the NEW FLOWER PIVOT PANEL POP UP, combined with some older Karen Burniston dies. New KB dies always play nicely with older ones. Ha.

All of the flowers and leaves come included and the flower centres cut as a single piece, so you get all the centres you need to complete your Flower Pivot Panels Pop Up with a single pass through your machine. I love that!

The pretty scalloped rectangles and the 'love you' are from the previously released Pop 'n Swap die set.

I'll be back in a few days with another card featuring Karen Burniston's new release!

Coffee & Hamsters Pop 'n Swap Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I have a fun pop up card to send out for Happy Mail, and with the coffee theme it's also for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.

I have a walk through of my card on YouTube because interactive cards are always more fun to see in action.

I forgot to add my acetate before adhering the patterned paper, so instead die cut one of the included Pop 'n Swap rectangle dies from a piece of the red patterned paper and put that piece aside for a different project. Taking the patterned paper with the rectangle cut from the centre, I used a paper trimmer to cut an even border around the rectangle opening which gave me the frame.

I adhered acetate behind the frame and then attached the whole thing over the opening!

Isn't this Coffee & Tea border die lovely? I bought it from Your Next Stamp back in the Spring, just to use on my coffee cards.

The Pop 'n Swap is so fun - but hard to capture in photographs. In the photo below you can see that the cute sleeping hamster that is visible through the window  ... slips behind the rectangle as the card is opened and the hamster in the cup appears from below.

I had these gold vinyl stickers in my embellishment bin, but have been making good use out of them lately. They are retired, as is most of the items in my craft room - but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

Haunted House Pop 'n Swap

Hello crafty friends ...

Today I'm sharing a Pop 'n Swap Halloween Card using dies by Karen Burniston. I also have a video walk through for you on YouTube.

My card today started when I pulled out my Halloween Cards to see what I'd made last year and how many I would need to make for this year. I pulled out a card that had been in the bin for at least 5 years!! I loved the card, but the trouble was it was very bulky from the chipboard elements I had used on the pop up inside and it would cost waaaaaaaaay too much to mail. I figured I would hand deliver it, but never had the opportunity to do that. So this year I decided to pull it apart and use the elements to make a card I COULD mail.

I kept the card front fairly simple because all the fun is on the inside.

As you could see in the video, when the card is opened the moon slides down behind the haunted house and the ghost pair appears. The die used was the Pop 'n Swap - it's so fun!

The owl on the tree even has a real feather on it! I went over the tree with a gold shimmer pen - this was before I had the shimmer spray or I would have used that.

The chipboard haunted house has several layers to it so that added to the bulk on the previous card.

I had fun re-making this card - the Pop 'n Swap is fun to play with and makes for a fun card to receive too!

Supplies:

Patterned paper - Happy Haunting, Stampin' Up (retired)

Stickers - possibly Jolee's Boutique?

1133 Pop 'n Swap - Karen Burniston

Nuvo Gold Shimmer Pen

1058 Halloween Charms - Karen Burniston

1055 Ovals Crosshatch - Karen Burniston

Card size - 4.25 x 6", fits in an A6 envelope

Pumpkin Pop 'n Swap Halloween Card

Hello crafty friends ...

I won't go into a lot of detail of how I made this card, as I have a walkthrough on my YouTube video HERE!

This was a fun card to make - and I managed to use up a bunch of older products from my stash!

Through the window, you can see a crow and a partial pumpkin ...

... which disappears as the card opens and the fun pumpkin duo appears!

While it might be hard to see in the photo, I did cover the mechanism arms with the same patterned paper as on the inside of the card which makes them 'hide' a little better. This is not a necessary step and I don't do it every time - but I did like it on this one.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Night & Fall, Recollections
Various card stocks - stash
1133 Pop 'n Swap - Karen Burniston
Scotch tape
Stickers - Sticko
Transparency/Acetate pieces
Bat confetti - stash
Embellishments - K & Company (old, from my stash)
Mini Strips Halloween - Taylored Expressions
Mini Strips Die - Taylored Expressions
Mini Strips Backer Die - Taylored Expressions
Bakers Twine
Border Peel Off - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Glossy Accents

Card size - 4-1/2 x 6", fits in an A6 envelope

Happy New Year Pop 'n Swap

Hello crafty friends ...

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog and I have a fun Pop Up to share today using the new Pop 'n Swap die by Karen Burniston. I also have a YouTube video with all the details!

The patterned paper has copper foiled bits, and I added copper foil card stock behind the Sip Sip HOORAY die as well as on the wine glasses and wine bottle charms.

I punched a window in the front with a circle punch so you can see the 2020 when the card is closed.

As you open the card, the 2020 disappears behind the Happy New Year rectangle and the 2021 appears!

I used the Happy Celebrations stamp set from Studio Katia and copper heat embossed the Happy New Year.

Into my stash with this one for a few more months.

Supplies:
Card stocks
Patterned paper - Brightly Gleaming, Stampin' Up
1133 Pop 'n Swap - Karen Burniston

1-3/8" circle punch - Stampin' Up
Rose Gold Confetti - Studio Katia

'Happy BEE-Day!' Pop 'n Swap Card

Hello crafty friends ...

Today's card features these cute bee images from Studio Katia, and Karen Burniston's new Pop 'n Swap die set! All the details are in my YouTube video below:

As the card opens, the bee that you see through the window from the card front disappears behind the honeycomb and the second bee appears below it. So fun!

I added a few more hexagons around the card for some more colour, and we can sign our name on the large white half hexagon at the bottom right.

I waited a long time for these bees to come back into stock - they are very popular! I also picked up the Studio Katia  Honeycomb Shaker die at the same time. Looking forward to making a shaker card with it soon!

Now I do have a larger die cutting machine that accommodates this larger card size, to die cut the window. Alternatively you could use a punch or make a similar A2 sized card as the Pop 'n Swap fits in an A2 card (4.25 x 5.5").

This card is going into my stash - I love having a few special Birthday Cards ready in case I need one quickly.

Supplies:
MISTI - My Sweet Petunia
Honey Bees (stamps and dies) - Studio Katia
1133 Pop 'n Swap - Karen Burniston
Honeycomb Shaker Die - Studio Katia
Patterned paper - The Sorbet Stack - DCWV

Acetate
Fitted Hexagon and Stitched Hexagon dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Simple Strips die - Taylored Expressions

White card stock
1131 Bitty Ball Pop Up (heart die) - Karen Burniston
