Hello my crafty friends
This is my second post of the day - scroll up to see my Crazy4Challenges Design Team post!
Today is Lynda Kanase's Design Team Challenge and we are using her TINY NATURE die set. I may have squealed when she sent this set to me - SO many sweet images in one set.
I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about my Mom's declining health so finally I got up and went into the craft room to work on my card. Apparently the light isn't great at 3am, because when I looked at my card the next morning I almost needed sunglasses because of the super saturated colours!
I didn't have a lot of mojo, but once I had a bunch of Tiny Nature pieces cut and assembled, I decided to make a shaker card. I stencilled the white panel before die cutting the three circles from the panel - the circle die is perfectly sized for the Tiny Nature images and comes included in the set. It's really bright, but I'm happy with how the card turned out.
I used White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to go over all the wings and to add sparkly accents around the card front. It's like a cross between Glossy Accents and Stickles and I don't often spread it out as I did with the wings. But I really like the effect and will do it more often now! With the Nuvo Drops and sequins, this is actually a very sparkly card! I love a some sparkle on a Birthday Card.
Of course I decorated the inside as well, using Lynda's Spring Phrases stamps. I really like the large size of these word images, and that you can combine them however you wish because each word is a separate stamp.
I had some leftover butterfly pieces so I mounted them to the white fallaway circles from the card front and pulled out Lynda's Tag Pocket with Phrases and made two tags as well.
I stamped the blue tags with the pretty floral stamp from the Spring Phrases stamp set using blue ink for a tone on tone look, and offset a white tag at the back for some interest.
I added lots of bling and some bright pink ribbon to the top of the tag. It looks red in the photos, but it really is a bright pink! The label on the tags is from Lynda's Treat Pouch.
While this is an A2 sized card, the fishtail banner hanging over the right edge means it will fit into an A6 envelope rather than an A2.
Lynda will have a group post and her project on her blog this morning, which you will be able to find HERE. The rest of the Design Team are linked on the right - be sure to check out what they came up with for the challenge!
