Good morning friends
First of all, this card is waaaaaay better in real life. It's bright and super sparkly. Photos just do not do it justice.
Second, this is our birthday card for Granddaughter Olivia who will be turning 6. SIX! Having been diagnosed with advanced Pulmonary Hypertension when she was three, there was a time we didn't think she would make it to four. Here we are getting ready to celebrate her SIXTH BIRTHDAY!!
The disease, which has no cure, is progressing. Olivia needs a wheelchair to get around and oxygen daily ... but she is full of spunk when she has energy. She is truly the light of our lives and I loved making her this card.
I cut Joset's sweater from pink glittered card stock as a start. Karen Burniston gifted me with an awesome tag holder when we went to CHA and this pink tulle was tied on the handle of the gift bag. I gathered it up and adhered it behind the sweater as a skirt. Olivia loves to wear dresses and skirts so ... how could I not! Then I added Glitter Dots to the netting for some added bling.
I used the heart from Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card in the centre of the sweater and inlaid a piece of patterned paper.
All the glittered words were cut from a sheet of patterned paper in a birthday stack, as was the word panel. The little heart that fell away from the sweater? It was added back here on the word panel.
Hmmmm ... do you think I was able to convey our joy at being able to celebrate another birthday with Olivia? Wink.
Finally, a side view so you can see the Pop-Up a little better.
Here she is ... she has already lost one top tooth and we adore that goofy grin. Happy 6th Birthday Olivia!!!
Supplies:
White textured card stock
Patterned paper - DCWV
Sweater die - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Dotted Scallop Rectangle dies - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Spiral Circle Pull Card (heart), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
