Today I'm sharing another Sneak Peek of Karen Burniston's new release, which is available for preorder now! As soon as I saw the new Animal Add Ons 3, I knew exactly what I wanted to do first. While these dies are meant to work with both the Surprise Ball and Bitty Ball Pop Up's, I wanted to show you that they can be used independently as well!
I have made a couple of reindeer tags using dies by Karen Burniston over the years, so it's no surprise I wanted to do it again with this release. I did try to find some to link here for you, but obviously I did not do a good job with tagging the others as I couldn't find the photos without going through years worth of posts.
The Animal Add Ons 3 comes with a 'widows peak' to use if you are making a penguin, and I used that as a stencil to lightly ink some definition on the deer's head.
The ears, antlers and twine were sandwiched between the front circle and the one at the back, making this a nice sturdy tag. If I were making it again though, I would do a double layer of brown card stock for each antler to make them more sturdy as well. I used a black marker to write the TO & FROM on the back and the heart comes from the Bitty Ball Pop Up die set.

Today I'm sharing another sneak peek of the new release by Karen Burniston! I used the Long Nature Edges to create the curvy edge on my Slimline card. This die has stitching lines above and below the cutting line so one pass through your machine gives you two curved edges both with stitching marks.
The Holiday House set has a cute holiday lights die and I used half of it at the top of the frame after colouring it with Ohuhu markers. Then I added glossy accents on those as well as on the fussy cut cactus lights.
I cut the patterned paper about 3 x 8.5", then used the 'ground' die from the Long Nature Edges about 1/3 of the way down the card. The top portion was adhered right to the top edge of my card base, and the bottom portion was adhered right along the bottom edge. This gave me a ~1/2" area to add a sentiment. Of course, I gave the front of my card a spritz with a shimmer spray! Then I adhered the Seasons Greetings die cuts.
The Slim Frames are made to work with Slimline cards, and here I cut one from some coordinating patterned paper from the pad and I added a piece of acetate to resemble glass. I fussy cut one of the cactus images from a leftover piece of the patterned paper and popped it up on top of the frame. I knew I wanted to add glossy accents to the holiday lights otherwise I would have added it under the acetate.
Inside, I used one of the arms from the Upsy Daisy Pop Up. I've been playing with those arms lately and I love how well they work inside a Slimline Card. It's always great when you find even more uses for an older die set!
The sentiment is a cutapart from the patterned paper pad, as is the border and fussy cut barrel cactus inside.
Below is a better look at how much dimension you get using the Upsy Daisy Pop Up but it still fits inside a 3.5" deep Slimline card!
I have lots of ideas with this 'split' technique, including having a bright rainbow striped patterned paper showing through a subtle print or solid card stock. Small images can be placed in the space as well - remember you can make that opening as wide or narrow as you wish!

Today the Design Team can start to share sneak peaks of the new release by Karen Burniston and I have a few details about this upcoming release at the end of my post. Even though this isn't a pop up card, I did an (under 4 minute) YouTube video for you to show you all the details on this beautiful Holly Pattern Plate! It is just lovely and I am going to get a lot of use out of it.
Of all the dies in the new release, this Holly Pattern Plate was the first one I wanted to work with. I think it's just beautiful! I die cut it from green foil card stock then the berries from red foil card stock. I added double sided adhesive to the back of the red foil piece to make the berries quick an easy to adhere.
While the Pattern Plates are designed to fit perfectly on an A2 sized card, I did trim this down to 4 x 5.25" after adhering it to white card stock. Then I popped it up on a slightly larger red mat and tied it with red seam binding before adhering to a larger card base.
The Merry Christmas is a Karen Burniston die as well and I cut it from red foil card stock. Love the shimmer and shine from the foil! I did die cut a second Holly Pattern Plate and snipped a piece from that to add to the bottom left inside. I will keep the rest for another project another day.

Today I'm sharing a Panda card that somehow got missed back when I was making a bunch of birthday cards using these cute panda's from Stampin' Up.
I don't even have a supply list anymore, but I believe the colourful background is an 'ink smooshed' one and the fun background die is the Circle Panel Die from Your Next Stamp. The Happy Birthday is theirs too - from the Pick Me Up stamp set. I love the size and font on that stamp and use it a lot!
This card was donated to my Mom's old Nursing Home. I think I should maybe get another set of Panda cards made - they are so cheerful!

After die cutting the Happily Ever After from gold card foil card stock, I adhered it to a circle and die cut doily. This card does not have a Belly Band to hold it closed, but instead I used small magnets. I did use two, because I used heavyweight ivory card stock for the card base and there are lots of layers.
Here is the inside - when the gatefold card is opened, the shutters move back to reveal the sentiment "Forever Begins Today". I added lots of gold vinyl stickers from my stash as well.
The patterned paper is SO pretty - and I used three different patterns for my card today. The Happy Wedding Day is another die set from Karen Burniston.
The semi circle and vinyl heart on the back side of the doily hide one set of the magnets.
Here is a look at the back, but I didn't end up taking a photo of the gift card pocket I added to the bottom. There was still room for all of our families names (I signed for everyone) and we tucked a group gift inside the pocket.
The pocket was die cut from the same ivory card stock and decorated with a small piece of one of the pearlized patterned papers - it looked so nice!
I absolutely loved making this card for the happy couple!

I used the Mini Slider die set for my card today, adding this cute ghost from the Spooky Fun stamp set. He spins and slides along the track when you tilt the card! The die set comes with the small circles you can use to build up your slider element, but I used foam tape and a plastic disk instead of the dies or a penny. NOTE: These cards are often called Penny Slider Cards because they work really well if you add a penny to the underside of the slider element because the added weight from the penny.

There are such cute images in the Spooky Fun set, but I chose the ghost for the spinner.
The fun sentiment is from the Happy Hayrides Halloween set, and I white heat embossed it on a final scrap of the patterned paper. That piece was just wide enough for the YNS Stitched Fishtail Banner die with both ends trimmed off!
Here is a peek at the inside. I used another piece of the patterned paper for the dark layer, then die cut the Falling Stars die from the smaller white panel. Those fallaway stars were put aside to adhere onto the front, but they would also make fun filler for a shaker card. The sentiment is from the Spooky Fun stamp set.

I had fun making this card for a friend! The dog is part of a set by Marianne Designs that cuts different pieces that you can assemble to create many different dog breeds. I had wanted it for a long time and I'm thrilled that I was able to find it.
NOTE - this new Blogger format has caused a couple of issues, and I somehow hit PUBLISH on this post for September 15th instead of October 15th. As soon as I realized it I changed the date, but you may have seen this briefly on the 15th. Oops!

Today I'm sharing a Thanksgiving card that is also a pop up. I have a YouTube Video for you as well.
When I'm finished making my Thanksgiving (or Halloween or ...) cards for the year, any leftover embellishments etc go in a baggie or container to be used the next year. Trouble is, I don't usually open that container! This year though, I used up a bunch of items from the Thanksgiving baggie, including this pretty copper embossed foiled 4 x 6 panel! It came to me several years ago on a recycled card and this year I decided to actually USE it. After adhering it to patterned paper and adding a sentiment, the whole card front got a blast from a shimmer spray.
Inside, I used one 'arm' from the Upsy Daisy Pop Up for the pop up action - a die set by Karen Burniston. I've been playing a fair bit with those arms, including using them for Slimline pop up's. But of course I rarely post things in the same order I create them so those cards will be shared in the coming weeks.
The pumpkins are Peel Off's from Elizabeth Craft Designs, added to double sided adhesive then sprinkled with their Silk Microfine Glitter and burnished really well. They were done so long ago though, I can't remember if I used Copic markers or Tombow's and a blender pen!
It's hard to see in the photos, but I also sprayed inside the card with the Shimmer Spray - but you can see the sparkle in the video. I thought it would be fun to bring out the "Quarantini" stamp set again and made a Slimline Card!
I used the Slim Circle Panel die, cutting it from orange patterned paper that has random glittery bits on it. I saved some of the fallaway circles and added them back into a few openings for an additional detail. That panel was then adhered over a pale yellow patterned paper from the same pad, and it has a bold flower glittered pattern. So there is lots of shimmer to this card, but it's not consistent which is kind of fun.
I coloured the image with my new Ohuhu alcohol markers after stamping it with YNS Black Olive Ink onto a die cut circle. Then I added a few stamped Circle Bursts and added a fall away circle into their centres. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white card stock with one fishtailed end. Then, I popped it up with foam tape!
Here is a peek at the inside, where I added sentiments from the Quarantini set as well as stamped the Circle Bursts . A few of the bursts got one of the fallaway circles from the Slimline panel on the front.

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card using a bunch of older items from my stash and Karen Burniston's Paper Frames Pop Up die set! I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube as well.
The patterned paper has sparkly embossed bits and the stickers have both glitter and little gems. I love sparkle on a holiday card!
I've had the 3-D stickers in my stash for at least 6 years and I was able to up the remainder of the sheet on this card.
The glittered snowflakes are also stickers from my stash - they are foam!
In the photo below, you can see all the embedded glitter from the different papers.
