Llama Flip Fold Card

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog.

I have previously mentioned that the Pink and Main booth was the first one I went to at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show earlier this month. I had a Wish List. These Llama's weren't on it. Haha ... but they jumped into my hand anyhow. This is the first card I made with the Llama stamps, and I paired it with the Vintage Label Flip Fold card die set from Divinity Designs.

I used some glaze pens to highlight the Llama's scarf, and added the 'HOLA' and shadow from the Honey Bee Llama set.

The stamped greeting on the flip side also got some Glaze Pen on it.

This one is actually going into my stash.

Two Circle Fold-A-Long Birthday Cards for Girls.

One of my Black Friday Purchases was the Donut Fold-a-Long die set by Jen Long for Sizzix. I bought it more for the shape than the donut aspect, but the donuts are lots of fun too. Today I'm sharing two cards I made using sweet embellishments from Doodlebug design and using the card die as a circular card base.

This is the card opened up, with a few more embellishments and a stamped greeting on the centre circle.

The second card uses the same patterned paper and colour scheme but has a unicorn on the front instead of the birthday cake. On both, I added lots of glitter.

These will be saved for when the Grandkids are going to birthday parties.

Flowers & Butterflies Pop-Up Card

I decided to use this stunning glittered patterned paper for my card, and let it take centre stage with the card front. A layered Happy Spring and a punched butterfly is all it needed. As always, it's hard to see all the glitter in the photographs.

Inside I used the Oval Frame Pop-Up and more patterned paper from the sheet. Instead of added the Oval Frames though, I just added my pretty butterflies to the main ovals.

I have had these butterfly dies for many years, and every time I use them I swear never again. The paper or card stock sticks inside the dies and take a very gentle hand and many minutes to pry the delicate cuts out of the die without tearing. I have tried using wax paper in between and other tricks as well, but nothing seems to work. So these are put away again until I forget what a pain they are to use and I'll repeat the whole scenario. The finished cuts are sure pretty though!

I added die cut butterflies from the Circle Charm Pop-Up and smaller punched butterflies too.

The Happy Easter comes with the new Easter Charms - I like that Karen Burniston is adding these larger words to her charm sets.

For those that might be interested in my thought process, here is my 'prototype' to see if the Oval Frame Pop-Up would work the way I wanted to for this card. It's not pretty as I just grabbed scraps of card stock that were sitting on my table. This is not something I was going to keep. The card base wasn't a full size A2, but I didn't need it to be to test out the mechanism with the butterflies.

Once I could see it would work great, this piece went into recycling and I proceeded to cut into some nice card stock and patterned paper for my card.

Bright Butterflies Hello Card

Today I'm sharing a bright and cheery card made with products by Pink and Main. I really like this Butterfly background die - it cuts all these butterflies, but not all the way through. They remain joined to the base at the centres.

This one was a little more time consuming as I turned the die cut piece over and added a small piece of foam tape to the back of each of the wings. Then I adhered the butterfly piece over the bright blue patterned paper. You can see the blue behind the wings - it's a subtle effect but one I quite like!

The die set also comes with a couple of extra butterflies and butterfly bodies so I cut a couple from more bright card stock scraps and added five of them to the card front. The 'hello' was die cut from white card stock, and I stamped 'A Big' to the left of it. I picked up the hello stamps/dies last March at the Pink and Main booth at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show so this year their booth was one of the first ones I made a beeline for.

I added a stitched panel inside, and cut a larger butterfly from the bottom corner. Like the ones on the background die, this one only cuts the wing portion. So before adhering the white rectangle inside the card I added a scrap of bright orange card stock to show behind the wings, which were popped up with foam tape.

This card was made to send to my Mom, as with the cheery bright colours it will brighten her day.

Octopus Birthday Card

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and today I'm sharing a Birthday Card that I will give to our daughter for one of the grandkids to take to a birthday party. I used up the last little bit of this patterned fishy paper, and used Sketch SC730 at Split Coast Stampers.  Diagonal backgrounds seem to be very popular with card makers right now!

The Octopus is from Karen Burniston's Ocean Animals. He is wearing a party hat, and is adhered to the white circle with an Action Wobble so he bobs and wobbles around on the card front. Always fun for a kids Birthday Card.

Inside I wrote the greeting and added two small scraps cut into Fish Tail Banners.

St. Patrick's Day Shaker Card

I am back with my second post today. It's St. Patrick's Day and I have one more card to share. But I didn't want to interrupt my Easter Week posts, so if you want to see my last Easter Card for Easter Week, just scroll down.

I enjoy using the MFT shaker pouches, so when these A2 sized pouches were released this month I had to order a package. They are going to be fun and I had to try one out right away.  The next time I will add an anti-static powder to the patterned paper & pouch before adhering the filler and shaker pouch to prevent the filler from sticking.

The photo below gives you a better idea of the depth of the shaker pouch (1/8").

Inside, I used a few more stamps from the Hello Irish stamp set by Your Next Stamp.

This card will be going into my stash to send to my Irish friend next year. :-)

Easter Week Card #7 (Easter Egg and Chicks Flip-It Card)

Welcome to EASTER WEEK here on my blog! I'm so happy to have all of these cards finally shared so I can file the photos. I've been scrolling past those photos for a year now so Easter Week was very satisfying for me. I hope I inspired you a little too. Also, this is my first post today - I will have a St. Patrick's Day card to share later this morning.

Last year I had a lot of fun making Easter cards. I had purchased a couple of new stamp sets from Your Next Stamp, and I got going and made more cards than I needed to send out. I've hung onto these photos since last March and decided to have an "Easter Week" here on my blog and post one of the cards I made each day this week. Today is Day Seven, the final day!

I have another Easter Flip-It card to share today, and this one is probably my favourite of all the Easter Cards I posted this week.

This is a large, 5 x 7" Flip-It card - last Spring I found the die set for a screaming deal and could not pass it up. I like the large size so much! The card is nice and hefty because of the size, the heavyweight card stock base and the pretty patterned paper is also heavy weight. I only had one sheet of it and I liked the gold foiled bits.

I added more of those cute images from Your Next Stamp to create the little scene on the front of the card.

I scribbled a pink marker on a plastic pallet, picked up the colour with a water brush then touched the seam binding bow to add some ombre colour. I liked that look and will likely do this more often.

I have had a lot of fun with these cute chick stamps from Your Next Stamp and enjoyed sharing Easter Week with all of you.

Easter Week #6 (It's Spring Card)

Welcome to EASTER WEEK here on my blog!  Since I didn't want Easter Week to run into next week as well, this is my second post today. The first post was for the Crazy4Challenges card and you can scroll down to find it.

Last year I had a lot of fun making Easter cards. I had purchased a couple of new stamp sets from Your Next Stamp, and I got going and made more cards than I needed to send out. I've hung onto these photos since last March and decided to have an "Easter Week" here on my blog and post one of the cards I made each day this week. Today is Day Six!

I just adore these chick stamps from Your Next Stamp so stamped and coloured a bunch of them to use on my Spring cards. The word Spring is also in the set.

I purchased the Blueprints #29 set last Spring, and I still get a lot of use out of it. In fact, most of my Blueprints die sets get used a lot. I never regret a Blueprints purchase. This one allows you to use up bits of scrap patterned papers, which is always a bonus.

The card inside has a die cut banner, a stamped greeting from Taylored Expressions and another chick image.

C4C475 Sympathy Duo Sketch Card

This is my first post of the day. I wanted to share one of my Easter Cards for Easter Week here on my blog so I will share my card Easter Card #6 later this morning.

Because it's Saturday, that means a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog. Our March hostess is Frances Byrne and our Guest Designer Barb Anders - Paper Pursuits. I've long been a fan of Barb's creations!

The third Saturday of the month is a Sketch Challenge and below is the sketch for this week:

I enjoyed this sketch, and it's one I will use again. I had picked up this pad of foiled patterned paper on the Stampin' Up clearance rack, as I thought it would make pretty cards to donate to my Mom's nursing home. Since I'm also running low on sympathy cards so I decided to use some of the paper to make two sympathy cards for my stash.

I had picked up this circle word die from the Stamps of Life - it will work great with a number of my background dies etc, but it also ended up being perfect for the sketch!

Each card is the same inside as well, with a stamped greeting and flower bunch. I added some diluted ink with a water brush to add coordinating colours to the flowers.

St. Patrick's Day Pop-Up Card

Every year I make a St. Patrick's Day card for an Irish friend. This year I was inspired by these pretty journal cards with gold foiling on them, and fun stamps by Your Next Stamp. This is also my second post of the day because I didn't want to interrupt the Easter Week posts but I did want to get my St. Patrick's Day posts in too. Scroll down to see my Easter Card for today.

I added a gold foil panel behind the confetti  panel, some glitter dots and the stickers are glittery and rimmed with gold foil. The confetti background die is from Your Next Stamp and it is going to be so fun to use for birthday cards. I like that all the little fall away bits can be saved for confetti inside shakers too and I'm always a sucker for a stitched edge.

Inside I used the Katherine Label Pop-Up to animate another foiled journal card.

I wanted to add more than the one greeting, so I decorated the left side of the card as well.

The gold coins have a shimmer to them from the glitter pen ... as does the rainbow.
