Pop-Up Box Card for Christmas

Good morning friends

I'm still crazy about Doodlebug Designs, so pulled out some of their printed embellishments and made a 'Box Card' for a friend.

While you can also add decorative panels to the upper flaps, I tend to leave them empty as you don't see them when the card is being displayed and it adds to the bulk for mailing.

I added a cute Cut Apart (or Journal Card) from one of the Doodlebug papers from my stash, and a die cut banner as a place to sign my name.

Love how this dimensional card folds completely flat for mailing, then pops up and stays open for display.

Pop-Up Gift Card Holder with Coordinating Tag

Good morning friends

I have had this paper stack for too many years and was hoping to use it up this year. I did my best, but there is still some 12 x 12" sheets left and lots of smaller pieces left so I'll be hanging onto it for another year. Which is OK, I think it's a really cute paper stack!

I used it to make a Pop-Up Gift Card Holder, using dies from Lynda Kanase's 'GIFT AND GATHER' collection for Sizzix.

 The paper has lovely foiled bits, and I fussy cut the elements from other patterned paper scraps in the stack

The 'THANKS' dies are included in the Pop-Up Gift Card Holder, and since this was a thank you gift for friends who help us out a lot, it was perfect to use for this card.

Since I was putting this in a gift bag, I needed a tag too! I die cut the tag from another sheet of paper in the stack using Lynda's Tag Pocket with Phrases. The 'For You' dies are included with the Pop-Up Gift Card Holder, Here, I matted it with a red patterned paper layer. Since the edges were straight, it was easy to scissor cut the mat layer.

I used my Envelope Punch Board to make a coordinating envelope to add the Gift Card Holder to, tucked it into a gift bag along with special treats for their furry kids and added the tag to the bag handle.

Snow Globe Christmas Card

Good morning friends

I used my ECD Snowglobe die set to create a holiday card for a faraway friend.

The die set even comes with these tiny snowflakes! I added some glitter glue for holiday sparkle and foam tape for dimension.

Kraft and Gold Gift Card Duo

Good morning friends

I'm back today with another Gift Card Holder for the holidays, two in fact. One of the people we are gifting to this year requested specific gift cards, so I pulled out the Pop-Up Gift Card Holder by Lynda Kanase for Sizzix. I mentioned when I first got this die set you would be seeing a lot of it from me!

Here is the pair of Gift Card Holders together - since they are going to the same person I wanted them to coordinate but not be identical.

I really enjoyed making these - I LOVE the stitched snowflake dies as well as the metallic foiled patterned paper, and of course I'm always a fan of kraft card stock.

The 'You Are Special' dies are included with the Pop-Up Gift Card Holder, which is part of Lynda's 'GIFT AND GATHER' collection.

This is another gift card I use for photo props and not the one we will be gifting.

This second card uses up more of the pretty foiled paper, and my test cut of that lovely open poinsettia die. It was too pretty to toss!

The label where we will sign our names comes from Lynda's Treat Pouch die set.

I have some fun little goodies to add to the package for this person, as I always like to give a little something extra when the gift is a gift card. The Pop-Up Gift Card Holders themselves will be attached to large gourmet chocolate bars with pretty gold twine.

Wine Bottle Shaker Card

Good morning friends

I think this might be my favourite holiday card this year! I had so much fun embellishing it, because the card is going to be hand delivered. Love that.  I also really like Z-Fold cards and have been having a lot of fun making shaker cards - so combined both of those for this large Z-Fold Shaker card for Christmas.

I adore the sweet colours and patterns in this paper stack so used it for my card, along with black to make everything pop.

I added a few gold snowflake peel-off stickers and sparkly gold gems for even more sparkle and shine.

This card is very sparkly in real life - I'm just SO pleased with it and I hope the friends I made it for enjoy it too.

Large Shaker Christmas Card

Good morning friends

By the time I was finished making this card for my Mother-In-Law, I couldn't believe how HEAVY it was. Good thing we were hand delivering it!

Once again I used this sweet patterned paper stack, fussy cutting the holly & berries from a large wreath on one of the 12 x 12" sheets. The wreath was a square journal card in the stack and I cut an opening to show through the striped paper in behind. The words were trimmed from one of the 12 x 12" border sheets and adhered across the centre of the card. They are gold foiled, and I added gold sequins here and there to bring out more of the gold foiling in the patterned paper.

Here is a peek at the inside, where I used another one of the journal cards and more border images from the paper stack.

I haven't made a 6" square card in a very long time, and I enjoyed the larger canvas for a change.

Reinbeer Flip-It Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is a Flip-It card I made to send to our niece in Ontario.

This Reinbeer stamp had been on my wish list at Your Next Stamp for a long time. When they had a 40% off sale last month, I jumped in and grabbed it thinking it would make a fun Christmas card for our son. But it is also perfect for our niece and I know she is going to get a kick out of it.

I used Stephanie Barnard's Circle Flip-Its for the card base and this fun patterned paper, as well as a scalloped circle frame.

I don't usually add ribbons and bows to my cards that are going through the mail, but this card was going to be hand-delivered so I wasn't worried about additional bulk.

Merry Christmas Scene Card

This goofy reindeer image always cracks me up. Here I paired it with an older background die to create a little scene for my Christmas card share today.

I added lots of glitter glue - I can't help it when making holiday cards. I like dimension AND sparkle!

5 x 7" Cardinal Flip-Its Card

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and today I'm sharing a Flip-It Christmas Card. I used the 5 x 7" Flip-It's die set by Stephanie Barnard for Sizzix, and I love the large size card it makes.

I decorated the front with Karen Burniston's large Merry Christmas on the front, along with some die cut Cardinals and lots of glitter.

Below is the inside of the card, with the stamped greeting.

While I could have added an area to write a note and sign our name on the front of the card, I liked the look of the Birch and Cardinal paper and didn't want to break it up. So instead, I added a panel to the back and decorated it as well.

Journal Card Christmas Card Group

Good morning friends

One of the hottest sellers in the Stampin' Up Holiday catalogue was a set of journal cards designed for pocket scrapbooking. They were absolutely ADORABLE and so easy to use for holiday cards with a coordinating red card base set. The journal cards sold out quickly, but since I had some really cute ones from Project Life I wasn't going to order them anyhow. I did however, order the card bases and envelopes from the Santa's Workshop Memories and More suite and got them before they also sold out!

I had found this Project Life journal card set on clearance and just knew it would make some cute cards. I made two of each design for a total of twelve Christmas cards but only photographed one of each design. I LOVE the red Stampin' Up card bases and would buy them again for sure.  They are nice and sturdy with a white interior, they come with coordinating red envelopes and it's no surprise they also sold out. Hopefully Stampin' Up offers them again and often.

The card bases are made to use with journal cards, which are typically 4 x 6" and 3 x 4". You could simply adhere a journal card to the red card front, stamp a greeting on the white interior and call it done!

These ones feel nice and substantial, as I popped up the journal cards with large pieces of fun foam and all the red foiling on the journal cards makes them look special.  Here is the front of my first card today and you get a look at the pretty red foiling on the borders tree and 'Oh Christmas'.

Some of the journal cards have lines on them, so I added one inside each of the cards. They also have the lovely red foiling. I plan on using these cards for the people we give tips to over the holidays. With the lines on the inside they are perfect to write a short note on, and I can tuck the tip inside the card then the whole thing will fit in the matching red envelopes. I have some great stickers to use on the envelopes and plan on using a metallic gel pen to write their names.

The Project Life journal card set included a couple of embellishments as well, so I took the boy and girl Gingerbread and popped them up on the left sides of the Merry & Bright journal cards. The red bow and buttons in the Gingerbread people are also red foiled. They are so cute!

My third card had words printed between two red stars. I used ECD's Dashing Rectangle dies to cut away the snow kids from a different journal card and popped it up over the words. It fit perfectly between the red foil stars. Then I added the banners, which was included with the Project Life set.

Again, all the red on these journal cards are foiled and sparkly.

Here are the smaller cards, and they were done the same as the 4 x 6" ones ... mounted onto the card bases with fun foam and lined journal cards adhered inside. Even the 3 x 4" cards have red envelopes to match.

All in all I was very happy with how sweet this set of cards turned out. There are also enough for my Mom to give to her care givers at the nursing home too.
