Two More Coffee Themed Cards for a Blog Hop

I want to share both  Mother's Day cards and Design Team cards this week, but it's also the 2019 Spring & Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. In order to get everything posted, I will have to double up on a couple of posts! This is my second post today - and I'm sharing two coffee themed cards for the hop.

First up is a Wiper Card. This is my first time making one of these but it won't be my last. I was surprised at how easy they are to make! Well, easy, once I figured out the wiper arm inside. The first time I was so happy and a little proud of myself then realized I had it backwards or upside down because the surprise inside showed when the card was closed, then hid when the card was opened. Ha.

I also planned on adding the 'Happiness Is' banner in the centre, but it created a catch point for the coffee cup so moved it over to the far right. Below is the card opened, and how it would be displayed.

The Coffee Cup Pop-Up die set by Karen Burniston has these wonderful coffee bean dies - the perfect touch for any coffee themed card!

When you pull on the sides of the card, this cute coffee cup pops up! So fun.

I added some extra stamping and a few more coffee beans to the back. This card will go to our middle daughter for some happy mail. It suits her perfectly.

Since I had everything out anyhow, I made a second card to add to my stash.

I love all the sparkle on this patterned paper.

Look at the highlights you get with a single Chameleon Color Tone marker! I am really enjoying using them.

I am not sure if I will get any more cards made for the Coffee Lovers Spring & Summer Blog Hop, but here's hoping I'm more organized for it next year!

Mother's Day Flower Basket Pop-Up Card

Hello my crafty friends

Today I'm sharing a pretty floral Mother's Day card. The front is nice and simple with a stamped and matted greeting and a seam binding bow.

To get the ombre look on the ribbon tails, I lightly spritzed the ribbon ends with water, loaded a water brush with dye ink scribbled onto a plastic palette then touched the brush to the ribbon and let it dry.

Inside I made a Pop-Up using the Cupcake Pop-Up to animate a woven basket filled with flowers and greenery. Karen Burniston's Woven Basket is a stand-alone Pop-Up die set that is proving to be very versatile. There are lots of ways to use it and the Peeps are sharing what they come up with on the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps page on Facebook. I added a scalloped border at the top and bottom using the Tropical Scene die set. For the woven basket, I cut one piece (that cuts two at a time) and put one of them aside for another day. I cut the weaving strips and assembled the single panel woven basket with some inking for definition.

The stamps and washi tape die are from Your Next Stamp. I love butterflies this time of year, so added a couple of butterflies from the Circle Charm Pop-Up.

I added lots of bling to this card, seeing as it will be hand delivered I didn't need to worry about bulk and extra postage.

I really liked this patterned paper, and enjoyed working with these bright happy colours. Especially with the weather we had here this week ... this is what we woke up to yesterday morning.  Sigh.

Coffee Themed Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

I want to share my Mother's Day cards etc this week, but it's also the 2019 Spring & Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. In order to get everything posted, I will have to double up on a couple of posts! This is my second post today - another Pop-Up Gift Card Holder. I made this one for our Son In Law for his birthday, and included a Starbucks Gift Card for him.

I love this Pop-Up Gift Card Holder die set by Lynda Kanase - it's so easy to put together and such a fun surprise for the recipient.

Love the stitched edges on these rounded corner rectangle dies.

Here is a look at the inside. Note, this is not the gift card I enclosed, instead I used an older hand-made one because the colours worked better for photos. :-)

I added the aqua die cut heart for a little colour.

Challenge Card With Flowers

Hello my crafty friends

Today I'm playing along with the Fun Friday Challenge #113 at Your Next Stamp, and the theme is "How Does Your Garden Grow".  I have quite a few YNS products, but I had to really search through them to find something garden related that wasn't Easter! Finally I chose these blooms from the All Aboard Bunch Of Happiness stamp set and then the card came together easily. In all honesty, my real life garden is fake. Ha -  any plants we put out are considered snack food by the deer and other critters. So I put plant pots with silk flowers and plastic grasses on the front porch. But that doesn't make for a good card, ha ha.

Since I am loving bright & happy colours these days, I cut the YNS Photo Booth die from this fun striped patterned paper.

The inlayed card stock squares are actually leftover pieces from previous cards made with the Photo Booth die set. I keep them with the die and will use the fall-away striped pieces from this card on a different project. There are bright balloons printed on the reverse side of the striped paper so I may end up using that side!  The blue square is actually a Distress Oxide background from a Shark card I made in January, which you can see HERE.

I stamped the flowers onto the white squares and coloured them with Chameleon Colour Tone and Colour Top markers. The cute chick was stamped onto white card stock and fussy cut, then coloured with the same markers. I added a couple of stitched puffy clouds from Karen Burniston's Outdoor Scene.

The words are from YNS's Washi Tape Sentiments and Washi Tape Sentiment Die set.

Here is a peek at the inside. I used a YNS Stitched Rectangle die and stamped the YNS Stripe-tastic Diagonal Edge at the top and bottom, then stamped the Taylored Expressions words.  I added another stamped chick from the All Aboard stamp set and added a Taylored Expressions stamped and die cut balloon.

C4C482 Birthday Card Using Scraps.

It's Saturday which means it's time for a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges Blog. It's also a brand new month, and our hostess for May is Maryann Einam. Nicky Foden is joining us as our Guest Designer this month - you can find Nicky's blog here:  My Messy Craftroom

Maryann's challenge this week is to 'Use some of your leftover papers, make a card using paper or card strips/scraps'.

I'm always up for a chance to make a birthday card to donate to my Mom's nursing home. But to use up some of my pretty paper scraps too? Win Win!  I used the rest of the leftover pieces inside the card so there were no scraps leftover either.

I used a Scrapworks die set by Your Next Stamp to die cut the sunburst panels. I cut six different sunburst shapes and adhered them to a scrap of card stock. Then I cut it into a rectangle shape with a stitched rectangle die and used that for my card element.

I love these cute banners from Taylored Expressions so used one across the top cut from black. Then I added orange dots with a glaze pen.

I liked the card so much, I made three more - each just a little different as it depended on the scraps I was using up as to where I could place the pieces on the die.

Tea Themed Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

Hello my crafty friends

Today is the start of the Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop! I really wanted to play along, so this is my second post of the day. I will give our daughter in law a set of gift card holders for her summer birthday, and since she loves tea I am starting her set off with this tea themed Pop-Up Gift Card holder.

I used Lynda Kanase's Pop-Up Gift Card Holder die set - I love that this Gift Card Holder has a Pop-Up inside!!

My friend Kelly sent me this fun Starbucks Gift Card last year as she knew I'd love it for photos. The colours worked perfectly with this patterned paper! I coloured the stamped images with Chameleon Color Tone and also Color Top markers. I love the smooth colour blends you get with these alcohol markers.

Four Sparkling Flip-It Cards

In February Sizzix had a huge sale and I could not resist adding the Lively Flip-its to my collection. Of course if I knew now what I didn't know then, I would never have supported the company with another purchase. (Sizzix is suing several stamp companies, has put the industry into turmoil and creating a lot of, shall we say - BAD vibes). But ... onward.

Since it's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, I pulled out some very old, very sparkly patterned paper from my stash and made four similar cards. Three of them are birthday cards and I mailed the HELLO one to my Mom.

The HELLO die is included with the flip-it die set. I fussy cut the bird from a different paper scrap in the pack and popped it up with foam tape.

I wrote my mom a note on the larger label and signed my name on the small one.

The second card has these cute resin stickers added as well as a stamped greeting.

Since I had those resin stickers out anyhow, I went ahead and used a few more from the sheet for the third card.

The border die is also included in the flip-its die set.

The fourth card helped me use up a few more scraps from the pack and I added another fussy cut bird.

I will be donating the birthday cards to my Mom's nursing home.

Bright Tulip Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing a card I made using a 3-D tulip sticker I've had in my stash for years.

I white embossed the words on the turquoise panel, which was inlaid into the polka dot frame. Then I added some sparkly Nuvo Drops.

This card went to the donation bags for my Mom's Nursing Home. I think it's bright and cheery and the residents will like it.

Rooster Pop-Up Card

Hello my Crafty Friends

We found out that friends were unexpectedly moving to a cattle ranch in a different province. I had to come up with a card quickly, as I really wanted to send one to her before they left. I loved this stamp set (Sale A Bration) at Stampin' Up and was lucky enough to get one so pulled it out for my card. You can see the rooster peeking through the window when the card is closed.

When you open the card, the rooster pops up using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-Up mechanism.

We wrote our note on the large white rectangle and got it in the mail right away. I found out that she did receive it in time and appreciated both the theme and that we were thinking of her as their family begins a new chapter in their lives.

Just one of the reasons I love the Katherine Label Pop-Up so much - it makes a quick Pop-Up card with lots of 'oooooh' inside.
