Trio of Ice Cream Cones

Here is another of my ice cream cards for my family. Every July I send my family ice cream cards, and on a certain day in July we all make sure we have ice cream Even if we can't be together - like this year - we all have ice cream and share the pictures. This is a tradition that my Grampa started with my Mom, and now we continue with our grandkids too!  This card uses a patterned note card and an ice cream punch with coordinating stamp set. The yellow polka dot pieces are from the note card - I have a box of them with bright, and cheery colours and I want to make sure to use them and not just hoard them. The pattern goes across the back and has a border around the front.

The first thing I did was cut the back from the front of the note card, then I used the Matting Rectangle die (Divinity Designs) to cut the front down just a little smaller than my white card base. From the patterned back side, I die cut the stitched rectangle and popped it up with foam tape onto the bordered piece.

The ice cream cones were punched from a different one of the note cards (I love the confetti look) and a brown patterned paper scrap. They were added to the front of the yellow panel and a stamped sentiment over that.

Below is a peek at the inside, with a stamped ice cream cone and lots of room for a personal message.

Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.

  2. I too keep a tally of my cards made. Mostly because I was curious, then as a challenge to myself. Last year I made over 500. This year I’m aiming for 525. So far I’ve made 297
