Back in the early Spring, I had decided to make a concentrated effort to use up a 6x6" paper package. It had been a paper share from my then Stampin' Up demo and it had been sitting on my table for too long. I'm happy to say that I did it - and used up every single sheet! These ones were probably the first ones I made since I loved the papers so much.
Generally I make my Mini Slimline cards to be 3.5 x 6" but to take advantage of the 6" length of the papers (and save trimming on every single sheet) these cards are 3.5 x 6.25". They still fit easily in the #8 envelopes.
Once the patterned papers were cut in half, I had a look at the pattern on the reverse side. If it looked appealing, then I would trim some off the bottom and flip it around on the card front. So one 3x6" piece of patterned paper gave me two coordinating patterns from a single 3x6" piece. I didn't measure these - just went with what I felt looked good.
To hide the seams, I added a strip of either matted patterned paper or more of the rainbow holographic cardstock. The sentiments were stamped on white stitched circles and popped up with thin foam tape.
I used the same sentiment on the fronts and on the insides of each of the cards and I was so happy with how they turned out! I have to remember this layout, as it will work with 12 x 12" sheets cut down as well. And we know I have a LOT of 12 x 12" sheets of patterned paper!! These cards were donated to my Mom's old nursing home.
Having been asked how many cards I make I thought it would be fun to keep track this year. Many of my posts include more than a single card or project and below is my tally.
