Vellum Infinity Shaker Card

I make a lot of Infinity Shakers (also called Edge to Edge Shakers) and have wanted to try one using vellum for awhile. Using the beautiful Fragrant Forest background stamp, I made my first one for this card. And went 'meh'. Ha. So now I have tried it but I'll be going back to using transparency's or clear stamp packaging instead of the vellum.

I stamped a sentiment on the vellum before adhering it over the filler and stamped background and added gold peel off stickers as well. The pretty washi tape has gold foiling on it and the panel was matted with gold foil card stock. Now that I look at the photos though - using an embossing folder on the gold panel might have been a nice touch but in real life the card is very sparkly and shiny.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Comfort & Joy Gatefold card

It's Fun Fold Friday on my blog and today I'm sharing the 12th and final card in my monthly series "Throwback Fun Fold Dies".  I pulled out this "Hello Friend Gatefold" die set by Sizzix to use and since It's December I made a Christmas card. The die set has these lovely rounded top corners, the layering dies and also a couple of different floral dies for the side panels and also 'Flip & Fold' flower dies. I didn't use the florals on this card, but do plan on using this set again in the New Year.

The card is decorated with snowflake stickers, a large die cut snowflake and a stamped sentiment. For the card front I masked off the 'JOY' part of the stamped sentiment because ...

... I added a large JOY die inside to complete the sentiment! I also added this Snowman Joy die (Penny Black) because it just makes me smile. I also used more of the Frosted Forests patterned paper, which I am really enjoying.

I added a panel to the back with a stamped sentiment and this is were we will sign the card.

Hanukkah Tags

Last year I bought a Hanukkah paper package by Photo Play and there was a 12 x 12" sticker sheet included. I didn't come up with a use for the eight number stickers but this year I decided to add them to tags for our daughter to use on Hanukkah gifts for our grandkids.

Then I made another eight tags and used up some of the smaller stickers on the sheet. These were quick and easy but not something she can easily buy so I hope she has fun with them. I also added strips of patterned paper from the package, narrow gold tape and some gold circle stickers for a little sparkle.

Christmas Cards in Pinks & Blues

Since I have had this paper pad for several years, there are lots of bits and pieces that I thought I would try to use up. These are the cards I came up with!  I added some of the cut aparts from the package, gold snowflake peel-off stickers and Merry Christmas peel-off stickers as well.

I really like the bold fonts on these sentiment stamps (Stampin' Up) and added them inside the cards with some washi tape & narrow gold tape.

The trees were die cut twice and off-set, then added to a hexagon shape with foam tape.

Here is the inside using another stamp from the same sentiment set.

NOEL Platform Pop Up Card

Here is the 12th and final edition to my monthly series "Platform Pop Up Cards".  I feel like I've sure got good use out of this die set now, and hopefully inspired those of you who also have the set.

Today's card uses some older ephemera to decorate the platforms and there is a spot on the back where we will sign our name. I'll be including a Christmas letter with the card, so I don't need a lot of room for a personal greeting.

I love how flat the card folds down for mailing.

Snowflake Zig Zag Card

Today I'm sharing another holiday card and this one uses the Circle Zig Zag die set by Studio Light.  I knew I wanted to use it with 'scenic' patterned paper and I'm so happy with how this turned out!

I love the prints on this patterned paper, but after working with it for awhile I am finding a few issues. It's coated, so if you stamp on it you have to allow for drying time so your ink won't smear. I just used dye inks, but one could also heat emboss their sentiments.

The paper is also really thin so glue lines show through and it has a tendency to buckle or wrinkle. Things to keep in mind! I didn't want to add a signing block inside, since I love how the scene sort of flows across the card. So instead I added one to the back, using the included layering dies in the set.

I added die cut snowflakes as well as a large iridescent snowflake and the sentiment was hot foiled. I love how nicely this card will stand for display!

Pop Up Christmas Card Duo

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and Happy December 1st!  As I have always done in December - I'll be sharing holiday cards right up until Christmas. Still, this is my 12th and final edition to my monthly series "12 Months of Christmas".  Today I'm sharing a pair of 5 x 7" cards - one has a simple box pop up and the other uses the Paper Frames Pop Up die set by Karen Burniston.  In the photo above you can see the fronts of both cards.

In the photo below you see the insides!  (Sorry for the bad lighting - these photos were not allowing me to do much editing.)

Both cards are nice and simple on the fronts, letting that adorable patterned paper do all the work. I matted the panels with coordinating patterned paper from the same package, added some glitter and gold snowflake stickers as well as a stamped sentiment popped up with foam tape.

The first card has a simple box pop up inside. I have several tutorials on YouTube showing how to make these (Click HERE to see one) and I used a cut apart from a sheet in the package as the decorative element inside.

The second card is actually on a Kraft card base instead of a white one - both cards have matching envelopes.

I fussy cut a couple of snow people from a sheet in the package with borders of these snowmen to decorate the inside. I love all the dimension you get with the Paper Frames Pop Up!

Whenever I give someone a card that uses the Paper Frames Pop Up, they turn it over to view it from the top ... so here is a top view photo for you. 😊

Hanukkah Card Duo

Today I'm sharing a pair of Hanukkah cards I made for our grandkids. I couldn't resist the new (6x6") patterned paper pad by Catherine Pooler because it's so different from the 12 x 12" papers I've been using for the past few years. The layout is loosely based on the August 2023 Sheetload of cards, which has become my new go-to sketch.

The images were stamped in Catherine Pooler ink and I added some sparkle with a Wink of Stella Pen.

Both cards have Happy Hanukkah stamped inside and I added a couple of angled patterned paper scraps to add a little colour inside.

Boot-iful Birthday Card

This card just makes me happy. I had this 'Boot-iful' embossing folder/die on my Wish List pretty much since it first came out, and I finally bought it earlier this month. There were also a set of layering stencils that I debated about, but finally added them to my cart at the same time. I LOVE them and I'm so glad I got the stencils as well. This is the first card I've made with the set, a birthday card for my Mother-In-Law.

I ended up cutting a letter sized sheet of white cardstock into four (A2 sized) panels, and did the stencilling on all four panels to save cleaning off the stencils after just one inking. So I actually have three more of these ready to go! After the stencilling was done I used the coordinating die to cut three of the boot/floral images but I left one as an A2 sized panel. Then I placed the stencilled, die cut piece carefully into the embossing folder and ran I through. I ooooooohed. I ahhhhhhed. I was happy. I repeated with the other pieces, and put those away for another day.

For this card I embossed a Kraft panel with a brick embossing folder that I've had for years, and I rubbed my finger into Catherine Pooler's new Champagne ink pad (pigment ink) and over some of the raised areas of the brick panel. I love the soft sheen it gave those bricks! I also added a little on the orange blooms, then a die cut butterfly from gold mirror cardstock.

Here is a look at the inside. The butterfly was die cut from a scrap of pink patterned paper and rubbed with gold Lunar Paste before adding it inside.

Anniversary Card

Today's card was made to coordinate with the Anniversary Gift Card Holder I shared yesterday. I started with a card & envelope from Stampin' Up that has these gold brush marks which are really pretty. I love that the envelopes also have the touches of gold.

Since the cards are printed front and back, I cut one apart to give me two panels and die cut them with a stitched rectangle.  For the front panel I also embossed it with a textured embossing folder. The scribble heart and love dies are ones I've had for years and are long retired - but I still love and use them.

The sentiment inside is a two part stamp from Verve, again - long retired. Verve isn't even around anymore but I still have a great collection of their images. I always loved their stuff and would have bought more if I lived in the US where shipping costs are reasonable. 😊

One more look ...
