"Spring is Here" Tag

Hello!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Your Next Stamp and #160's theme is "Cool Inspiration"... Julie has a photo inspiration for us! Take inspiration from the photo - grey/pink, floral print, diagonal, circles - you choose!

I went with the pink & grey colour scheme and made an Easter Tag to tie onto our Granddaughter's Easter goodie bag. Miss Alma LOVES pink, which cracks me up because she never used to like anything remotely 'girly'. Ha.

Since they will be celebrating Passover, I tried not to make it TOO Easter-y but these YNS chicks are too cute without being only for Easter. I also used the Stitched Wavy Circle dies, which have long been a favourite of mine. The script SPRING was cut twice from white card stock and adhered together so it would be nice and sturdy.

Our challenges always come with 2 ways to win:
#1 – Would you like the chance to win a YNS stamp set?  Leave a comment on the Your Next Stamp BLOG March 24, 2021 at midnight est to be entered in the random drawing. Want more entries in the drawing? Leave comments on YNS’ IG and FB pages too!

#2 – Would you like the chance to win a YNS store e-gift card? Play along with the challenge! Link up your creation at the bottom of this post by April 1, 2021 at midnight est to be entered in the random drawing to win a $15.00 YNS gift certificate. Pop Up Mini Slimline Card for St. Patrick's Day

Hello!  I have a Mini Slimline Pop Up card to share today, that I sent to a friend who has a St. Patrick's Day Birthday. I planned on sharing this card yesterday, but had Design Team projects to share so this post got bumped by a day. Even though St. Patrick's Day is over - this card would be fun to make in a variety of different themes just by changing the patterned papers!

Since this is a pop up, I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube

I've talked about this Gnome die before, I liked it as soon as it was released but it took me awhile to break down and purchase it. I don't know why I waited because it is SO much fun and I get a lot of use out of it.

Inside I used one of the arms in the Mini Pops die set by Karen Burniston to animate the layered heart. This die set works perfectly for Slimline cards!

The sentiments are by Studio Katia - and they are perfect for me to use for several friends I send Birthday Cards to.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Doodlebug Designs
Gnome die - Simon Says Stamp

Two Slimline and One Fun Fold Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing three cards for my Divinity Designs Guest Designer Post on their BLOG. I love the bright colours in the Geometric Paper Pad, so paired it here with pops of both black and white.

First up is a Birthday Card made with the Vintage Flip Fold With Layers and the Vintage Bird Label stamp set. I have a walkthrough of this card on YouTube:

The smaller Vintage Bird Label was clear heat embossed over black ink and water coloured with Karin Water Colour Markers. I scribbled the markers onto my glass mat, picking the colour up with a water brush and painting in the image.

Using the same stamp set, I white heat embossed a flower in the bottom left corner, the Happy Birthday to the centre label and butterflies in the top right corner. Now the patterned paper has a bit of a shine to it, so I had to stamp slowly and carefully so the images didn't smear. But it's completely doable!

The painting process was repeated inside, using a different one of the stamps in the Vintage Bird Label stamp and water colour markers. Finally, I added a couple of black sequins for some Birthday Sparkle.

My second card today also uses the Vintage Bird Labels - I love the silhouette look of these stamps, which of course is why I chose them. I die cut the Slimline Quatrefoil Background Die from white card stock and adhered that over a same sized piece of paper from the Geometric Paper Pad Slimline Size. One of the Double Stitched Vintage Labels was added to the top third, and on a smaller label I clear heat embossed the silhouette image that was stamped in black ink. The water colouring was done the same as the Flip Fold card above, using water colour markers scribbled onto a glass mat and picked up with a water brush. The painted image was popped up onto the white one with foam tape for dimension.

Using the Slimline Card Base die*** I cut my card base from black card stock and embossed the edges. Then the decorated Quatrefoil Background panel was adhered to the front making sure there was an even border all the way around. Finally - a few black sequins were added and my card front was done.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card. I used the Slimline Rectangle Dies to cut a slightly smaller black panel and embossed the edges. Then another rectangle die from the set was used to cut and emboss a smaller white panel. I added a couple of stamped images from the Vintage Bird Labels and there is lots of room to write my note on the white panel.

My third card is also a Slimline card! This was my first play with the Slimline Flower Petal Background and I think it's going to be lots of fun. I have several ideas already that I want to do with it. For my card today, I die cut it from black card stock and adhered it to a same sized panel of patterned paper from the Geometric Paper Pad Slimline Size.

The white card base was created with the Slimline Card Base** die and the edges were embossed. Then I added the Slimline Flower Petal background to the card front making sure there was an even white border all the way around.

The decorative element was created with a Double Stitched Circle and the You Warm My Heart stamp & die combo. The to-go cup was stamped onto the patterned paper and cut out with the included die. I added a little bit of shading with a grey alcohol marker and popped it up onto the circle with foam tape. The other images were stamped using the same set. Then, a few sequins added some sparkle.

Inside, I added matted embossed layers using the Slimline Layering Rectangle Dies. A smaller piece of leftover patterned paper was die cut with the same sized Slimline Layering Rectangle Die as the white panel (and embossed), then adhered to the bottom of the white panel. The smallest Slimline Layering Rectangle Die was cut from a strip of black card stock (and embossed) and added over the join. Then I stamped one more heart from the You Warm My Heart stamp set and added a single black sequin.

I'll be back next week with another Guest Designer Post using these fun products from Divinity Designs. Check out the Divinity Designs Blog for lots of inspiration from their Design Team!

Easter Tag with Chick & Lamb

Hello! The Your Next Stamp Design Team is sharing Spring Themed Cards this week and for my share I created another Easter Tag. I have nine white Easter Goodie Bags on my stamping counter for our kids and Grandkids and my brother - and this tag will be tied onto his bag. I used images from the 'So Ewe-Nique' stamp set as well as the Cool Tag 6.

After die cutting my tag from the patterned paper, I cut a second one from white card stock and adhered the two together. I always like a sturdy tag! My images were coloured with Ohuhu markers with highlights added using both a black glaze and a white gel pen. Finally I added some sparkly Gumdrops! It might be hard to see the shimmer in the photos, but the chick's tummy and the Easter egg were swiped with my glitter brush pen.

Colourful Hexagon Slimline Card

Hello!
I'm back today with my weekly Design Team Post and today's card is a Slimline card that was actually inspired by the To-Tail-Ly Awesome Slimline card I posted last week!  I had some of these brightly coloured fallaway pieces leftover from that card and I decided to cut some more and add them back into the Crafty Hive die with foam tape.

After adhering double sided adhesive to the entire front of my black Slimline card base, I die cut and adhered the black card stock Crafty Hive die cut. Then those coloured fallaway pieces were added randomly, some inlaid into the openings (and onto the double sided adhesive) and others were popped up with foam tape. When I was happy with the design, I added loose glitter over the entire card front and tapped off the excess. The remaining glitter adhered to the exposed double sided adhesive, then was burnished into the adhesive with my fingers.

The sentiment is from the Valentine stamp set, stamped onto a white card stock strip and glued flat to the card.

It's hard to capture all the sparkle on this card!

"Crafty Meraki is a tribe of women who are all creators but more importantly, love helping others in any way we can!

Meraki (may-rah-kee) a verb, or adverb, a Modern Greek word, derived from the Turkish “Merak” (Labor of love, to do something with pleasure), is applied to tasks, usually, creative or artistic tasks, but can be applied to any task at all. Meraki means to do something with passion, with absolute devotion, with undivided attention.

Crafty Meraki was born out of a vision to help creators do what they love doing the most- to create!"

Mini Slimline Happy Mail (and Pop Up Video Tutorial!)

Hello!  Today is the day I'm sharing a quick and easy Box Pop Up Tutorial on YouTube!!! I have been wanting to share this technique for weeks and I hope you enjoy it.

I loved the printed mailbox piece that came in a recent Paper Pumpkin kit and realized I didn't have anything like it in my stash. One of my YouTube followers pointed out this cute mailbox die by Frantic Stamper and since it was available and on-sale here in Canada, I have added it to my collection!

Inside you can see the completed pop up and how the image 'lifts' or 'floats' above the background. SO fun!

If you know how to do a simple box pop up and you are more interested in the measurements of my box ... it is 5 x .75", scored at .5", 2.5" and 3".

This is a card I really enjoyed making and will be sending out for Happy Mail.

Bird & Basket Easter Tag

Hello! I'm sharing another Easter tag that I will be tying onto one of the white gift bags I have for our kids & grandkids for Easter. I have nine of them all lined up on my craft room counter ... and I'm really feeling how cramped things are with all of these bags in there! At least Easter isn't too far away and it will be worth it when we can give them to the family at Easter ... however that plays out this year. Last year it was virtual, but maybe this year we can at least do a porch visit. We won't be going to or hosting a family Easter celebration inside though.

The oversize tag is from the Celebrate Slimline Tag by Crafty Meraki and I lightly stencilled it with a STAMPlorations stencil. The cute 'Birdie Easer Basket' is by Your Next Stamp. I added lots of green to this one, as it will be for Zachary and he loves green. In fact, he will likely notice all the green on his tag!

The only tag I have left to do is for Ilai ... and they celebrate Passover rather than Easter so I will have to put my thinking cap on for that one.

Supplies:
Celebrate Slimline Tag - Crafty Meraki
Birdie Easter Basket - Your Next Stamp
Birder Easter Basket die - Your Next Stamp
Black Olive Ink - Your Next Stamp

Monster Slider Mini Slimline Card

Hello! When I first saw this new Fuzzy Monster set from Your Next Stamp, I knew I wanted to put this one on a Spinner/Slider. It's so fun to tilt the card and have the monster spin and slide up and down the track.

I used some patterned paper from my stash to create this Mini Slimline card, and YNS's Mini Slider die set for the wavy track. The white heat embossed sentiment comes with the Fuzzy Monsters and I added a couple of the new Gumdrops as well. They are nice and sparkly, and have both this smoky grey colour and a rich red colour.

Here is a peek at the inside, where I have lots of room to write a note when I go to send the card.

Since I had a strip of the patterned paper leftover, I adhered it to the envelope flap!

Easter Shutter Card

Hello! This is my first play with a shutter card die set I purchased recently from Taylored Expressions. It works inside an A2 card and since I was in the mood to create an Easter card, that is what I made first. I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:

The card is held closed with a Belly Band which easily slides off so the card can open. I decorated the Belly Band with stitched labels, stickers and a stamped sentiment.

The fun stickers are so bright and shiny and I love how they catch the light. The two bunnies on the card front were adhered to white card stock and fussy cut before adhering down.

When the card opens, the shutters open to reveal another bunny and a pair of eggs.

I added a couple more sentiment strips and holographic stickers and my card was done.

I have lots of ideas for this set, including making Mini Slimline and Slimline cards with it!

Supplies:
Gatefold Reveal 2 - Taylored Expressions
Patterned paper - Doodlebug
Card stocks
Stickers - Dollar store
Mini Strips Easter - Taylored Expressions
Mini Strips Die - Taylored Expressions

"Soaring By" Mini Slimline Card

Hello! I knew I wanted to put this cute parrot onto an Action Wobble as soon as I opened the new release package from Your Next Stamp. So that is the first thing I did with it! After stamping on water colour paper with YNS Black Olive Ink I die cut the parrot with the coordinating die. I added the colour with Karin Water Color markers and a waterbrush.

Next I die cut a second parrot - just with the die, no stamping - and adhered that one behind the stamped and coloured one. I find the Action Wobbles can leave a mark on your image because of the heavy plastic they use to make them and doubling up prevents this from happening. If I don't have a die to cut a second image, I will add a scrap of card stock to the back of whatever stamped image I'm going to adhere to the wobble to give me that double layer of card stock that will be over the plastic on the wobble.

The sentiments were white heat embossed on black card stock and matted with the same turquoise as the card base. I adhered one to the card front and the second part of the sentiment on the inside.

I added a bit of stencilling to my envelope and this card is ready to go in the mail ... I'm still sending out lots of Happy Mail!
