Lots of Hearts Mother's Day Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is a card that definitely looked better in my head. In fact, I hesitated even keeping it at all. But it did require a lot of work, so ... here goes.

I used Stampin' Up's Scribble Heart (which I love) for the front and some bright colours for a cheerful feel. The flowers and word banner are stamps by Karen Burniston.

The cute little flowers are from Karen B's Flower Pot Pop Stand and I do like the dimension they give the hearts. I actually quite like the front of the card, it's the inside that I'm not crazy about. I like the bright fun colours.

Here is a peek at the inside. I think it's just too busy for me - although it is pretty cheerful!

This is the card my Mom will give our eldest daughter for Mother's Day, and I'm sure Heather will really like it, even though I'm a little 'meh'.

Paper Pro's May 2017 Challenge Card

Good morning friends

It's time once again for the Paper Pro's Designer Challenge, and this month Caz issues the challenge:  "A few of my favourite things". Wow - what a fun challenge!!!

I chose Karen Burniston's Butterfly Pivot die set. I always like butterflies but especially this time of year when it means warmer weather is finally here. While flipping through some patterned papers to use, I saw this one and knew it would work as a birthday card for a friend. As usual, once I choose the patterned paper the rest of the card just fell together.

Loving these Stampin' Up doily's. When they hit the retired list, I snagged two more packages. Can't believe they are retiring them! I added some stickers from my stash and used glossy accents on the butterfly bodies so they are raised and shiny.

It's hard to see in the photo below, but I used glitter paste and a butterfly stencil on the right edge. You may have to click on the photo if you wish to see it larger. It sparkles and shines when the card is moved and the glitter catches the light. It's so pretty!

The butterflies pivot into the centre when the card is opened - such a cool feature of the Pivot Cards.  I added smaller butterflies from Karen Burniston's Butterfly Accessories at the top ...

... and more glitter paste stencilling.

The Paper Pro's (formerly Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge Team) continue these challenges as a group, but they are completely optional. Some month's we get lots of participants, other months just a few. It's all good - and I love that the Team has chosen to stay in contact this way.

Deer Slider Father's Day Card

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a fun Slider Card to share today that uses a bunch of different supplies.

The bird dies came with Lawn Fawn's Scripty Words ... but I didn't buy the coordinating stamps. So I just drew the birds inside the die cut shape with a fine point black marker, then coloured them with Copic markers.

The moose is a sticker that was adhered to white card stock and fussy cut, and he slides along the track with the aid of a penny in behind. These are also called Penny Slider Cards if you are doing a search for them online.

Holiday Bears Card

Good morning friends

I was doing a tidy up in my craft room, and came across this sheet of patterned paper that I've had for YEARS. I decided to use it for this card and not hold onto it any longer. I'm a terrible paper hoarder, when it's a pattern I love.

I added a stamped label and little stamped and die cut bear to the front.

Here is a peek at the inside - such a pretty scene! If I could find more of those sheets now, I'd buy several of them.

C4C-384 Band-Aid Thank You Pop-Up Card

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our May 2017 Hostess is Barbara Anders, and our Guest Designer is Lori Tecler

Here is Barbara's challenge this week: Today is National Nurses Day in the US. As a retired nurse, this day is special to me and I am forever grateful to all the wonderful nurses I’ve worked with or who have cared for me in some way. My challenge today is to make a thank you card. You can make it nurse or medical themed if you want but it’s not necessary. 

My Mom has needed help with an incision on top of her head for several months. A neighbour comes over every evening to tend to the dressing, so I thought I'd make a card for my Mom to give her.

I don't just buy supplies in order to complete a challenge, except this once. I purchased the MFT bandaid set and I know I'll get lots of use out of it in the future.

Inside I continued with more of the sparkly patterned paper and made it a Pop-Up with Karen Burniston's Pop 'n Cut dies.

I made a coordinating Gift Card Holder using papers from the same stack.

This is the first time I've used this flower die set. It is the Botanical Builder set. I had planned on purchasing it next month anyhow as I've had my eye on that set for months. Then it turned up on the 'retired list' at Stampin' Up and was on sale to boot. Woo hoo!

Foxy Mother's Day Pull Card

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Z-fold card to share today. This one is for our middle daughter for Mother's Day.

The card base was made with Karen Burniston's Oval Pull Card, and I used the Foxy Friends stamp set for the main embellishments.

Here is a peek at the inside. The Oval Pull Card comes with a slot die to use with the sliding mechanism - and even though I didn't use the sliding arm the slot works perfectly for threading ribbon through anywhere you want on the card.

Jar of Flowers Mother's Day Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is a Double Z Fold card I made for our middle daughter for Mother's Day. I love this jar stamp & die set from Stampin' Up and used it for her card. It was fun putting all the elements together.

Normally I wouldn't have added the fish with the flowers, but she has a big fish tank and I know she will get a kick out of it.

Blue Bunny Baby Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

My friend recently became a Grandma for the first time, so I made her a card to celebrate. No surprise there, ha ha.

I saw a fun interactive card by Jen Long at CHA this year ... in the shape of a CACTUS. Well you know I had to have it. I stalked the on-line shops waiting for it to come in, and when it did I also added this one to my shopping cart. Like the cactus shape, this is called a Fold-a-Long, specifically the Ticket Fold-a-Long.

Karen Burniston's bunny charm is just adorable, and the Paper Pros (formerly KB's Designer Challenge Team) used it in quite a few different ways. Here I trimmed off the hanging charm, and used the openings in the die to add the face, heart and colour the ears.

Like a gatefold card, this one opens from the centre and that centre label pops forward. To hold it closed, I added a belly band on the bottom edge and added one of the smaller stitched hearts to it. In the top photo you can see the belly band, even though it blends in with the patterned paper. Below you can see it with the opened card. On the patterned paper, the baby feet are flocked with white - so sweet.

Floral Get Well Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

While I was away, my Mom had cataract surgery. Which requires drops several times a day that she was counting on me for. Since I was unable to help, she was able to make other arrangements but I wanted to send her a card to let her know I was thinking about her.

Isn't that paper pretty? It was actually in a 'free with purchase' package. Score!

Masculine Pop-Up Birthday Card

Good morning friends

I woke up really early one morning so headed into the craft room. I was flipping through some random dies and saw these older Sizzix moustache ones so thought I'd start with those and make a masculine birthday card.

My husband has taken up Archery, so Joset's new arrow dies are going to get lots of use on the masculine cards I make this year.  I used them here with Karen Burniston's Happy Birthday Pop-Up die.
