Doggie Christmas Pop-Up Card

Karen Burniston has a new mini release, and her cutie patootie animal series got bigger with the addition of a Cat and Dog. Woot!!!  I had to cut the dog right away, and decided to use him to make a Christmas card.

I used the Katherine Label Pop-Up for the animation, cutting a circle in the front and adding a piece of acetate under the cream circle frame. That adorable little bone comes with the Cat and Dog as does the little heart.

When the card is closed, the dog is peeking through the window - but when you open it, the label raises and pops up. I love this die set! I aded a stamped Santa hat to the dog and used the coordinating  Katherine Labels in a vertical position instead of horizontal.

Oh, I can see this little dog is going to get a lot of use. He is adorable!

Set of Six Christmas Cards

Good morning friends

Oh, don't I love to use things up! These cards were all made with paper panels that were in the 'In Progress' bin. The crumpled tissue paper panels had been done many years ago and just never made it to a finished card. Both the deer print and the striped & tree print papers were in there, sized I believe to make little chocolate boxes for a craft sale. So I trimmed off the score lines and added some coordinating papers from my stash.

Not an original layout, but with these lovely foil snowflakes it's a very popular one on Pinterest. I embossed the words on a confetti card stock panel, with PSX Claret embossing powder.

The stitched circles used on the next card duo were sitting on my stamping table. They worked for this layout and the stamp fit perfectly on the front.

The patterned paper has pretty embossed and shiny bits, and I added some Glitter Line Peel-Off's and a gold Peel-Off Snowflake.

I've had this snowflake die for several years, and it was fun to pull it out again for the next card duo. I added Glitter Dots for some extra holiday sparkle. This is one of my very favourite card layouts and it worked well with the paper pieces I was using up.

Holiday Mug Flip-It Card for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Good morning friends

I'm back with my second post for the day and my third card for the  2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  There is SO much inspiration on this hop - I always look forward to them. Since it's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, I made a holiday themed Flip-It card using these fun HUG IN A MUG stamps by Stampin' Up.

The patterned paper has all sorts of glittery embossed bits, and I added more shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen on the marshmallows and whipped cream.

The white circle is where we will sign our name when I go to send the card. To be truthful, this will probably go into my stash as I have already sent all the holiday cards I need to this year (over 75!!)

Christmas Tree Z Fold Card

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog and I have a Z Fold card to share today. I'll also be back later today with another post for my Flip-It Friday as I made a third card for the  2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

I adore this tree stamp & die set by Stampin' Up. I got it last year and was very surprised to see it turn up on the retired list! One year I really liked their stocking stamp and punch set, but put off purchasing it. All of a sudden it was retired and sold out and I never was able to purchase it. So glad when I saw this tree set (stamps and dies) I snagged it right away.

I used Karen Burniston's Nature Edges to cut the snowbank, which was then accented with glitter glue. I stamped the tiny snowflake in a light grey and added glitter to those too.

Red Tree Card Duo

Good morning friends

I'm back today with a pair of easy peasy holiday cards.

I purchased this patterned paper package on the Clearance Rack at Stampin' Up earlier this fall, and have actually used it up this year. I really enjoyed using it, and I was thrilled there were no bits and pieces leftover to store for another year.  The Blueprints #18 die set is fun to use and worked well to get two coordinating cards.

The stamp/die set is now retired, which really surprises me. I love it and feel like I get a lot of use out of it too. Glad I snagged it when it came out!

Christmas Gift Toppers

Good morning friends

I don't often buy kits, but when I saw these in the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalogue I was intrigued. I ordered them back when the catalogue opened for ordering, and made them one evening when hubby was out of town. I was so pleased with how they turned out! Then I had to put them away for a couple of months, ha ha. 

They are large - about 4" across. There is a blank white circle on the back that I can use to write on if I want to use it as a tag, but I'm thinking these will make pretty gift toppers that can then be hung on the tree.

On these ones, I kept the gold rimmed tree that punched out of the centres and I can use them on different projects. I adore the little balsa wood banner with all the gold and glitter.

I haven't used a glue gun in a couple of years - but I knew right where it was in my craft room and had enough glue to finish the toppers as well. This is one of those things that looks WAY better in real life - they are really pretty and I'm so glad I bought the kit.

Stampin' Up really did a good job with this kit - there was enough materials, everything was well thought out and the instructions were clear. I would recommend this kit for sure.

'Oh Joy' Coffee Christmas Cards for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I had my cards all ready to post this week, but I completely forgot about the 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop being this week. So I'm back today with my second card for the hop and second blog post for the day. Since the last blog hop, I've been really enjoying using my (growing) collection of cup stamps & dies. These cards are in a Christmas theme, so I made two nearly identical ones for my stash.

When the Stampin' Up Holiday catty went live I ordered the Merry Cafe set. I had had my eye on the Coffee Cafe set from the main catalogue but thought if I got the Merry Cafe set, I would't want the other one anymore. Wrong. Ha - it made me want it more, so I now have both. They are interchangeable so I've been having lots of fun using them.

These sets also feed my newest addiction - latte's. Normally I get one from Tim Hortons, but have recently tried Starbucks (my first time there, believe it or not) and I love those too. If I have to go into the city for errands, and my route takes me near one or the other - you can bet I'm sipping a latte on the drive home.

For these cards I stamped the 'merry' on the insulating sleve, then went over the stamped letters with a white gel pen. It's easer to see in real life than the photos, but there is the little 'stir stick' at the top with a heart on it and I added glitter glue to it. Now that I have been to Starbucks, I know what these are, ha ha.

Snowman Greetings Twist Circle Pop-Up Card

It's time for the Paper Pro's challenge, and this year Frances issues the challenge "Let's Twist Again". Here is my card:

I am a patterned paper collector. It's crazy! Well, crazy to others - for me it's completely normal, ha ha. I found this piece of patterned paper in my stash. I've had it for years. I'm guessing it just got stuck behind other packages and it just didn't get re-discovered until this year. Once I found it though, I was determined to not only USE it, but use it UP on a card this year.

I used Karen Burniston's snowman on the front - he is holding a sparkly snowflake. I like that you can move his arms around to suit you. The 'Greetings' was die cut from white card stock.

See how the inside snowman is on his side as the card is opened?

Inside I used the Snowman Twist Circle Pop-Up. The centre circle twists and pops-up as the card is opened. The final piece of patterned paper was used in the centre of the card. (Happy dance).

I also added a die cut snowflake border on the sides, layered white over white. I like the subtle shadows that gives the card when it is opened.

Hanukkah Double Z Fold Card

Good morning friends

I have a Double Z Fold card to share today, that I made for my Mom to give our daughter and family for Hanukkah.

The pretty silver snowflake patterned paper piece was leftover from Wine Bottle Hangers I made for our daughter's Christmas/Hanukkah Stocking last year.  You can see those HERE.  

I left the large snowflake panel as is on the right side, so as not to hide any of the pretty snowflakes, and instead added our stamped greeting on the inside center panel.

This card can be signed on the back side, where there is also lots of room for a message.

Kitty Christmas Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is a card I made for an elderly cat-loving friend. 

The cat was punched twice, once from patterned paper and once from red. The red one was offset as a sort of shadow. Then I added one of the Lawn Fawn hat stamps. That set of hat stamps has certainly been well used - there are hat stamps for many different holidays. I've had that set since it was first released and it makes me happy when a stamp set gets as well used as this one has.
