Hanukkah Half Shutter Card

Hello! Today I'm sharing a Half Shutter card for Hanukkah. The Half Shutter Card With Layers is a die set from Divinity Designs and I am really enjoying it. This one was decorated simply with patterned papers and stickers, and a gold matted cut apart/journal card on the front. I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:

Neither the gold mirror card stock nor the Hannukah themed papers are available, but I have linked other ones below for you. I have those too, but wanted to use this package up. While I don't have any more 12 x 12" papers in the package, there are several cut apart and stickers left as well as smaller paper pieces still to use.

Above is what the card looks like when it comes out of the envelope and below is what the card looks like opened up ...

This view gives you a better idea of the different folds. While the card looks complicated, it is fairly quick and easy to put together because all the scoring is done for you. I always appreciate layering dies with a fun fold die set too. 😊

October Paper Pumpkin Card Duo with Santa & Reindeer

Hello!  I used one of the pretty silver foiled card bases from the October Paper Pumpkin kit to create these two cards. Since the card from the kit had the pretty trees/silver snowflakes on both the front and back, I cut it half to use on my own white card bases.

The Santa & Sleigh is a new die in my craft room this year - it's from Echo Park and was cut from silver mirror card stock. I also added some silver snowflake peel-off stickers and everything that is available is linked below.

The card interiors are similar, depending on what leftover bits I had from making other cards in the kit.

The Silver mirror card stock I used isn't available, so I have linked a different one for you. Even though the Santa & sleigh die is new, it must have been out for awhile as I can't find it to link! Hard to believe it's already retired or discontinued. Sigh.

Snowflakes & Joy Paper Pumpkin Alternate Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing one more Paper Pumpkin Alternate card made using the October kit called "Peaceful Christmas".  This was the last envelope, and I used the final two green buffalo plaid circles on this card.

The silver mirror card stock really picks up the shine in the foiled patterned paper! The Joy die is retired, and I am not sure who makes it but I am thinking it was probably by MFT Stamps.

Here is a peek at the inside. Yes it's a little 'over the top' for the inside, but those pieces were all sitting on my stamping table and I was able to use them up. If you follow me, you know I rarely post things in the same order I make them and this was actually the last card I made with the Paper Pumpkin kit - Card #18! When I finished this card, I was done with the kit and other than  four narrow strips of the silver/grey/tree card bases I used it all up. Those four pieces were leftover from when I created the Tower Pinwheel Card and that one has already been posted. I did save them in case I want to do something with them at a later date.

I still have more holiday cards to share using this kit, including a pair with my new Santa & Sleigh die added.

Winter Critters Pop Up Slimline Card

Hello!  I'm back today with another card featuring new release items from Karen Burniston. I used fun patterned paper that had some larger winter critters on several sheets, which I fussy cut to use on holiday cards.

The card front features some of those fussy cut images, as well as the new Labels Crosshatch, and some previously released KB die sets too. Everything that is available is linked below for you.

Inside is the Little Labels Pop Up - one of my favourite sets in the new release.

Those winter critters are just so sweet - and I added Wink of Stella to them for holiday sparkle and shine.

Slimline Card with Deer Trio

Hello!  Today I'm sharing the card I made using those older, Cricut cut deer I used on a Mini Slimline card HERE. As I said in that post, there were four card fronts sitting in my Christmas Bin that had been there for YEARS. Since my style (and supplies) have evolved over time, I decided to repurpose those deer for this years holiday cards. They came off of the card fronts easily, since the foam tape was so old it didn't have much sticky left.

The patterned paper is also old - the date on it is 2003! I die cut it using the View From My Window Slimline die from Crafty Meraki, backed the window openings with vellum then added the patterned paper fallaway pieces back in but behind the vellum for a softer look. I also outlined just inside the window edge with a gold gel pen.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

Snowman Tag

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a holiday tag created with this adorable new stamp set from Your Next Stamp called Magical Winter Wishes. There is a coordinating die set as well.

I stamped the images on white card stock using my Mini MISTI and YNS Black Olive Ink then cut them out with the coordinating dies. Some colour was added with Copic Markers and then I added some sparkle with Stickles and set the images aside to dry.

The tag base is the largest die from the Wavy Stitched Circles die set. I cut it twice, once from white card stock and once from red. Then they were adhered together offsetting the red one for a different look. I stamped the sentiment and punched a hole to tie the red twine through.

When the glitter was dry, I adhered the images with different heights of foam tape for dimension.

Sneak peeks of the new release started last week, and the dies are available to order NOW! Details about the giveaway are further down on my post.
On the front of my card, I'm using the new shadow for the Happy Birthday die (YAY!!!!), as well as the new Labels Crosshatch and the Big Birthday Charms.

This release includes:

I made a Pop Up card using several dies from the new release and paired them with previously released items. All the details are on my YouTube video

Below is the inside, with that party-hat-wearing-alligator who is also holding onto a balloon! As I said in the video, I used the Cupcake Pop Up but trimmed the excess away leaving tabs to adhere it inside the card. I get SO much use out of the Cupcake Pop Up!

The alligator, fly and cattails come from the new Bayou Animals, and the Balloon is in the new Big Birthday Charms. The party hat is from the previously released Birthday Charms. I also used Word Sets 2 & 4 and 'Celebrate' for the sentiments, cut from red card stock.

I also had fun playing with the new Border Blends - Trims, and the new Labels Crosshatch.

Let it Snow - Paper Pumpkin Alternate Card

Hello!  I have to say, I just love how this card turned out. Love it. The October Paper Pumpkin kit came with these pretty foiled card bases that were printed on both the front and back (with a white card interior). I cut them all apart, so I would have 10 panels to use instead of the 5 folded ones. Why 'waste' all that foiled goodness on the back of the card!

Before adhering one panel to a white card base, I die cut the Let It Snow from the centre, thinking I would pop up the words into the opening and create an Elipse style holiday card. After cutting the Let It Snow twice more from white card stock I adhered all the layers together for a chunky element, and laid it back into the opening to see. Hmmmm ... it was ok, but not quite what I was going for. The pattern was so dark that the Elipse technique was kind of lost unless you turned the card and the shadows caught the light. I die cut it one more time from silver mirror card stock and TA DA ... done!

Here is a peek at the inside, with a the Holiday Charms by Karen Burniston and the stamps that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit.

Mini Slimline - Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Hello!  This card was very satisfying to make ... I was able to use up FIVE narrow strips of this patterned paper!! These strips were trimmed off the 6x6" papers on previous cards, some were from a sheet of border strips in the pad and others were part of the overall pattern.

This patterned paper pad has copper foiled bits on some of the sheets, so I used my new Santa/Sleigh die from Echo Park which was die cut from copper mirror card stock. The Santa/Sleigh is a die I've wanted for a number of years and I don't know why it took me so long to purchase one! This one is already retired though. It also came with a Merry Christmas die which I used inside. I also added some copper snowflakes and that die came from Karen Burniston's Snowman Pop Up.

Here is a peek at the inside. The Merry Christmas dies come with the Santa/sleigh that I used on the card front. This was the first time I used it and I doubt I'll use it again. I'm not a fan of the font now that it's adhered down  - I have others I like better. I am really happy with the Santa/Sleigh die though, so it's all good.

My card is a 7 x 5" card with lots of layers and foam tape but since it will be hand delivered, I didn't need to worry about bulk or weight. I have all the details in my YouTube video

I used the Alpha die set and pink patterned paper to personalize the card with our Granddaughter's name, and the sweet dog image is a 3D Decopage piece with LOTS of sparkle and dimension.

Inside, I used the NEW Little Labels Pop Up - this is going to be a very versatile die set and you will be seeing me use it a LOT. There is also a new shadow die for the very popular Happy Birthday Die, as well as a new word set which is where the SMILE and shadow came from.

The new Big Birthday Charms are also going to become a fast favourite and I aded the cake, candles and sweet little fork on either side of the SMILE.
