October Pumpkin Alternate Cards, #3 thru #6

Hello!
Today I'm sharing four more alternate cards using the October Paper Pumpkin kit "Peaceful Christmas". I have a larger-than-A2, two Mini Slimline cards and a Pop Up card using the Circle Charm Pop Up dies by Karen Burniston. Everything that is available is linked below for you!  I have a walkthrough of these cards on YouTube

These cards are definitely better to see in a video (or in person) because photos just don't capture the sparkle and shine.

First up the larger card, with a silver foiled background panel and large iridescent snowflake.

Inside I used one of these beautiful large sentiment stamps from Crafters Companion. ❤️

Since the card above used the front of one of the printed tree card bases, I used the back of the card for the one below. I loved the print on these card bases, and knew I would be cutting them in half to get 10 card fronts instead of the five in the kit with the trees/foiled snowflakes on the back side of those card bases. The silver foiled matting layer on this one is SO pretty.

I also added the dies from the Peaceful Cabin dies, and as I said in the video - I used blending brushes and grey ink to add colour to the back layer so the openings on the front layer would show up better. The front layer also got a blast with Shimmer Spray.

Inside, I used the final remaining strip from that printed card base and a stamped sentiment.

Since I wouldn't be using one of the envelopes for the card I cut apart on the two cards above, I cut one apart to make the next two cards. The silver foiled trees from the envelope front take centre stage on this Mini Slimline card.

The stamps that were included in the October Paper Pumpkin kit are so pretty!

Finally, I made a Pop Up card using the Circle Charm Pop Up die set. Another one of my favourite and most used dies by KB!

Here is what it looks like from the top - you can see how the snowflake on the card front pivots to the inside as the card is opened.

More foiled card stock inside to continue the sparkle and shine. The foiled snowflake Peel Off stickers added another touch of shine to these cards.

Halloween Treat Holder

Hello!  The newest Fun Friday Challenge at Your Next Stamp is "Face your fears - be sure to let us know what you are facing. A color combo you avoid?  A new technique?  Perhaps a spider or other creature on your creation?" I was just getting over a broken blood vessel in my eye where I looked like a demon who could scare young children, so I decided to make a treat holder with some eyeball Halloween candy. 😊

I pulled out some retired patterned paper and the YNS Scallop Topped Treat Bag to hold a couple of the chocolate goodies. Then I added a stitched circle with a stamped sentiment from the Happy Hayrides Halloween stamp set and everything that is available is linked below for you.

Our challenges always come with 2 ways to win:

New House Pop Up Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing the pop up card I made for friends who are downsizing into a new-to-them house. Most of the dies I used are by Karen Burniston and are linked below. I started with the Home Sweet Home - very appropriate!

Inside, I used the Tiny House Pop Up. It's so cute when you open the card and the card stays open for a nice display. I added a layered oval where I wrote a greeting and signed our names.

Such an adorable little door, and there are even window boxes to add to the windows! My friend is an amazing gardener, so I had to add some flowers to those boxes. I also added a little heart to the roof.

The Tiny House Pop up die set has new technology on the roof die. I inked it with a grey ink, then laid it face down on the grey patterned paper. It stamps and cuts at the same time - such a great detail!

This is the back view of the house ...

Space Themed Mini Slimline Pop Up Card

Hello!  I had just received an order from R&R Scrapbooking out of Edmonton, and in it was this Galaxy metallic card stock pack. I had to dig in and make a card right away, so got out the Space Charms from Karen Burniston. I have a walkthrough of this Mini Slimline card on YouTube as well:

The lower space ship was attached to the card with a Mini Action Wobble so it bobs and wobbles around. So fun! The 'Thinking of You' is from Word Set 10 and I also added some gold glitter dot stickers to resemble stars.

Inside, I created a pop up with one of the dies in the Street Lantern Pop Up. It was a little short for this vertical orientation, so I added the off-cut piece from the panel on the left. I adhered that to the pop up arm and that extended it just enough for me to dd my space ship, alien and circle.

Butterfly Sympathy Card

This was a hard one, peeps. Really hard. Sympathy cards are never enjoyable to make, but to make one when your own heart is hurting from the loss? Much harder.

This was made especially for my Aunt, who as a quilter loves bright colours. I didn't get the August Paper Pumpkin kit, but when I saw the refill online I chose to get that instead. This entire butterfly/floral laser cut piece was spritzed with shimmer spray then popped up with slivers of foam tape onto one of the included cards in the kit. There are some soft colour areas on the card base that show through the openings in the die cut and the envelope has coordinating prints on it.

Here is the inside, where I wrote her my personal note of sympathy. My cousin's passing was sudden and tragic, and I think of her every day. 😢

October Paper Pumpkin Alternate's - a Z Fold and a Pop Up!

Hello!  Today I'm sharing the first two alternate cards I created with the October Paper Pumpkin Kit "Peaceful Christmas".  I also have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube

This first card is a Z-Fold Card - one of my favourite fun fold cards to make. I also brought in some galvanized silver card stock, the Crosshatch Circles from Karen Burniston, the large snowflake element, silver snowflake stickers and the dies from the Peaceful Cabin bundle. Everything that is available is linked below for you.

This is what the card would look like as it comes out of the BEAUTIFUL envelope. I love the envelopes that were included in the kit!

Below is what the card looks like open, with a stamped greeting and room to sign our names.

Now for the second card ...

I clustered the elements on a Braided Oval and popped that up on the layers cut with the Crosshatch Rectangles. I added a single metallic silver die cut tree to the lower right corner.

Inside I used the Katherine Label Pop Up with a pretty woodgrain oval. The sentiment comes in the kit and there was one more metallic tree left so I added that too.

The Katherine Label Pop Up by Karen Burniston is quick and easy to put together, and I love the height and dimension you get with it! It is probably my most used die set by Karen Burniston - if you check out the labels on the right hand side of my blog you will see over 70 cards made using it!

Flippy Flappy Halloween Card

Hello!
It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog and today I'm sharing the Halloween Card I sent to a friend, She is also a card maker and I thought she would enjoy receiving the first card I've made with Lawn Fawn's new Flippy Flappy die set! I have a walkthrough with tips on YouTube:

The patterned papers and elements I used are all from Doodlebug Designs. This collection is no longer available, but I will link some newer Doodlebug products for you. I have most of those too, ha ha - I'm such a fan of Doodlebug.

On the October 31st element, I brushed the black letters with Wink of Stella for some shimmer & shine.

When you pull the tab, this little pumpkin & spider slides out and pops out - so fun!

I also stamped a sentiment on the tab that pulls out.

Inside, I added the Giant Happy Halloween (also from Lawn Fawn). I cut it from some inferior quality black card stock that I normally only use for matting. So it cut kind of raggedy but I decided I liked that look for a Halloween card and adhered it onto the layered panels inside.

Here is a link to Lawn Fawn's Assembly Video for their Flippy Flappy Die Set.
