Feather Pull Card and Treat Bag

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I wanted to share a Pull Card and Treat Bag I made for a friend. I owed her some money for a favour she had done for us, and you know I had to make it special.

I had just received my Elizabeth Craft Designs purchase with these wonderful feather dies and since my friend lives in Arizona I thought they would be the perfect touch for her card. The card base uses Karen Burniston's Rectangle Pull Card.

I had done a test cut of the Diamond Background die, so used it as a stencil to add some design to the textured card stock.

Inside is where I wrote her a note.

I made a 'Zig Zag Bag' and embossed it with a Bark embossing folder, then adhered a single feather to the front.  Inside I added her money and a few coffee flavoured candies.

Because I was hand delivering the card, I packaged these two up together in a clear bag envelope.

Pink Tree Pivot Christmas Card

Good morning friends

I have a bright and cheerful Christmas card to share today, that didn't get posted in December. The colour scheme is quite a departure for me - but I like it!

The card base started with Karen Burniston's Evergreen Pivot cut from pink Soft Finish Card Stock. This card stock is white inside, which I really like.

The tree decorator dies have an embossed feature which I used for this card. I also used a new-to-me Sizzix snowflake border die cut from red card stock.

Here is a look at the card opened. The trees pivot from the front and back to the inside when the card opens - so cool.  I still have holiday cards left to share, so will scatter those posts throughout the year.

I added the Merry Christmas words from Karen Burniston's Merry Christmas Pop-Up, and also the little swirl below the trees.

(I chose not to re-do the watermarks to Painted Mountain Cards).

C4C-377 Doodlebug Easter Cards

It's the third Saturday of the month, so that mean's it's a SKETCH CHALLENGE and here is Frances' sketch.:

I love all the variations the Crazies have come up with using this sketch! I made an Easter card, then decided to finish off the little stack of leftover bits and pieces and ended up making three Easter cards. This first one follows the sketch...

This little bunny sticker is actually felt - so sweet.

Here is a peek at the inside, with the pink panel being popped up with fun foam.

Card #2 has a Doodlebug printed panel, and embellishments from Echo Park that are popped up with fun foam.

The inside is similar to the first card but without fun foam. The largest egg was stippled with ink for an ombre look.

Finally, here is the third card which uses another Doodlebug printed panel with Echo Park Embellishments.

The eyes are glossy because I used a glaze pen on them. Love how it catches the light and makes the card just a little bit more special.

Funny Bunny Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip it Friday here on my blog, and I have an Easter Z-Fold card to share today. I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card and added a printed label embellishment on the front. The Pull Card Edges were used to cut the cute patterned paper panels for the sides.

I added some stickles to the bunny for some sparkle and shine.

Inside I penned Hoppy Easter!

Just for fun, I adhered this little Peep to the back of the label, which you can see when the card is opened.

I made this card after Easter last year, when I still had the patterned papers out on my stamping table. The photos are water marked with my old blog but I chose not to re-do the photos with the Painted Mountain Cards watermark.

Sympathy Card Duo with Flowers

Metal Tag Easter Card Trio

Good morning friends

These cards were actually made after Easter last year, and I just kept the photos until this year to share. I had a few embellishments, stickers and patterned paper bits that I wanted to use up and not store for a year.

The 3-d stickers also have a metal rim around the edge, and they popped up beautifully.

Inside I did something different. I actually scanned my hand lettering, then printed it on white panels that I could colour to match the sticker on the card front.

They turned out cute and were perfect for the Grandkids last Easter.

Paper Pro's March Designer Challenge

Good morning friends

Welcome to the March 2017 Paper Pro's Designer Challenge: "March 14 happens to be Pi day and the 17th is St Patrick's day .... so what about a Pi challenge (think pies or circles) with maybe a little green thrown in!"

I went with circles and green, nothing to do with Pi.  I try to stay away from math as much as I can, ha ha.

The front of the card has a pretty leafy border, with a stamped bird and word balloon. The bird is a new stamp by Krista Schneider at Elizabeth Craft Designs, and they come with coordinating dies.  I finally got to play with the Zig Clean Color Markers which were a birthday gift from my parents. I hadn't thought too much about those markers, but got some hands-on with them at CHA this year and I was sold! I love how easy they blend and how vibrant the colours are.

I used Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card for the card base - one of my favourite Pop it Ups dies.

The green patterned paper has little glossy ladybugs - so cute.

'You're How Old?' Double Z Fold Birthday Card

Good morning friends

I'm back today with another Double Z-Fold card. This time I made a fun Birthday card that I think I will save for my Father In Law.

These Crazy Dog stamps just crack me up.

I penned 'Yappy Birthday' on a stitched banner, and used an older Sizzix fence die on the card. I did a little trimming so the fence lines up when the card is closed. The Word Balloon stamp and die are ones I've had for over a year and it's fun to use them on a cheeky card.

St Patrick's Day card for MJ

Good morning friends

Every year I send my Irish friend a St. Patrick's Day card.

This year I used the Anita Frames Pop-Up by Karen Burniston to do the inside. My friend used to be a card maker but doesn't do to much anymore because of age and declining health. I know she is going to love seeing all the pretty layers that the Anita Frames Pop-Up make.

 I  also added gold to the card with gold sparkle card stock, and the little oval is where I will sign my name.

C4C-376 Butterfly Pivot Card

Here is Frances' challenge:  Tuesday the 14th March is both Moth-er Day (focusing on Moths) and Learn About Butterflies Day. So for our challenge this week include a Butterfly or Moth on your card. Bonus points if you include a flower on your card to celebrate Plant a Flower Day tomorrow (12th March)

I couldn't resist using Karen Burniston's Butterly Pivot card, and some fun printed paper from my stash. I often cut my card bases wider than I need, score then fold the excess to the inside. This time however, the excess patterned paper was folded to the outside and I tucked a scalloped border underneath it on the front.

I added a vellum layer from the Butterfly Accessories to the butterfly layers that come with the Butterfly Pivot card.

When the card is opened, the butterflies from the front and back pivot to the inside where you get to see the floral pattern that was folded to the outside.

I waited for WEEKS for Lawn Fawn's 'Happy Happy' to be in stock and shipped - it comes with three different Happy stamps and dies, plus additional words. You are going to see a lot of that set - it's perfect for so many different occasions!
