Today I'm sharing the Slimline Birthday card I made for an ocean-loving friend. The colours and patterns in the Slimline pad are SO soft and pretty and they were perfect for this card. I used a craft knife to cut away the three Polaroid style frames on the front panel, added the main piece to the card front then popped the frame piece back into the opening with foam tape. Love the lift and dimension it gave the card.
The little jelly fish are from Karen Burniston's Sea Charms, and I cut the bottom layer of the jelly fish from acetate so they are clear and shiny. The top layer was cut from rainbow holographic mirrored card stock and I just adore how cute they are. Simply snipping off the hanging holes on the charms give you embellishments so they do double duty.
I added a few clear enamel dots that were leftover from a Paper Pumpkin kit, and finally aded the die cut Happy Birthday. On a whim, I added wet glue on top of the words and sprinkled on chunky glitter. Not sure that I'm entirely happy with it but that glitter is dried on there good, and no way I was pulling the card apart and potentially wrecking that lovely slimline panel.
Inside I added another one of the Slimline papers from the package and stamped a sentiment on a white circle. That is added (along with a blue frame) to one of Sam Calcott's paper springs for a little movement.

I had some of this double sided patterned paper leftover from the Mug Shaped Gift Card I did for our daughter's Mother's Day gift (see HERE for that one) so I made this card to donate to my Mom's old nursing home.
This layout has been a favourite of mine for years ... and it works especially well with double sided papers. I added a small piece inside the card for another pop of colour and the card was finished.

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I'm sharing a dog themed birthday card. I hadn't played with Lawn Fawn's Shutter Card die set for awhile, so that is what I used today. I pulled out some older patterned paper and stickers from my stash and this card will go to our grandson for his birthday.
When you slide off the belly band and open the sides of the card, the shutters also slide open to reveal the stamped sentiment.
I added a signing block on the back, with another stamped sentiment and strip of the patterned paper.

When I pulled out a package of school themed patterned paper, this half sheet was in the package and I knew I would make (another) Gated Fun Fold with it. I have so much fun with this fold - if you missed the video tutorial, you can find that HERE.
On the inside panel I stamped two rulers and a sentiment, then added Karen Burniston's Bookworm holding an apple. That little worm is just SO darned cute!

Today I'm sharing the second alternate card made using an older Paper Pumpkin Kit "No Matter The Weather". I spent some time back in the early Spring making cards with the kit and managed to get it all finished off! Of course, I did my own thing and hardly followed the kit instructions/inspiration at all.
This was one of the few times I actually cut down one of the envelopes to use the liner as a patterned paper. It matched the elements perfectly and I didn't have another green that would. Considering the envelopes were note card rather than A2 size, I didn't mind cutting one down as much as I would if it were an A2 size. The kit came with tiny clear enamel raindrops and I added three of them to this card as you can (barely) see in the photo below.
Here is a look at the inside, with a sentiment block matted in sunny yellow paper, and stamped & fussy cut rubber boots. The boots are attached with one of Sam Calcotts paper springs so they have a little movement.
I'll be back next week with another alternate project with this kit!

Today I'm sharing the 5th edition to my monthly series "Shaped Cards". This mug shaped card die is from Trinity Stamps and I have had it for quite awhile. The card fits in a standard A2 envelope, and also comes with a gift card insert.
One of our daughters asked for a Gift Card for Mother's Day, so this is the one I made for her. Since it was going to be hand delivered I was able to add the ribbon bow and chipboard elements without worrying about bulk and extra postage.
NOTE: I cut a slit in the fold of the card, and that is where I threaded the ribbon through to tie onto the front panel. That way it would decorate the front AND the inside!

I made this card for a friend who has a beautiful garden. She often posts photos of her flowers on Facebook and they are SO pretty! I thought she would enjoy a floral birthday card this year. The tulips are from Kat Scrappiness and I inked the edges of the tulip blooms then cut the stems/leaves from a green pearl cardstock. Of course, I had to add a couple of butterflies as well.
Inside, the stamped and matted sentiment is popped up on an accordion folded 'spring'. I have been using those a lot the past couple of months 😊.
One more look ...

I like to make the grandkids their teacher appreciation cards for the end of the school year. Since I have been short on time this month, I decided to go ahead and take advantage of a previous Sheetload of Cards to get several finished and ready.
While I initially was going to use the May Sheetload, I ended up turning to an old favourite - the February 2020 Sheetload of Cards for these ones. I will link it below for you - I get a lot of use out of that one!
I created these cards the same way I did when I was on the Sheetload Collaboration Team ... I use the sketch and cutting guide and get all the papers adhered to the card bases. Then I decide on the embellishments and finish off the card fronts. For these ones I pulled out a few school/teacher themed stamps from my stash and just went through the folder where I keep school themed papers to see what else I could use. Some have stamped images, others have stickers, and one is a faux shaker card!
I created this school bus MANY years ago, back when I first got my Cricut. I sold it a long time ago, so this could be at least 10 years old. Ha. But it's used up now!
Below is a peek at one of the inside of some of the cards ...
There were a couple of journal cards that I thought would make cute 'Back To School' cards so there are two of those as well.
This one has lots of room for me to write a message to our granddaughter.
This second one will go to our youngest grand ...

I know Easter is behind us, but I had been working on this Paper Pumpkin kit in February and thought I would make some of them into Easter cards. A few I sent out this year and the others I will hold onto until next year. Between the daffodils and the bunny ... I couldn't help but make Easter cards!
I had been able to purchase an unopened March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit "No Matter The Weather" and brought it down to Arizona with us to work on. I had held onto it long enough, and ended up having a lot of fun putting my cards together. This one is has Karen Burniston's Paper Frames Pop Up inside.
The patterned paper that I used is also one that I have had for MANY years. Back when I purchased it (don't even remember where) I must have really loved it & it was a screaming deal, because I bought TWO of them. Sigh.
Since I had been working on using up some of my older Easter stash, I added three fuzzy chick stickers inside the card. They are just SO darned cute, and that package is finally used up.
Whenever I give someone a card with the Paper Frames Pop Up, they turn it to view from the top. So now I make sure to take a photo showing that view also ...
I'll be back in a week or two with another Paper Pumpkin Alternate card using this kit ...

Today I'm sharing the Flip Card I made for our middle daughter for Mother's Day ❤️
Once again I used this beautiful patterned paper. I had purchased it specifically for our May Birthdays and Mother's Day and I have made good use out of it! I am also really enjoying the 5 x 7" Fabulous Flip die set by Sam Calcott, especially on cards that I will hand deliver. That way I'm free to add as many layers as I want without worrying about extra postage.
In her tutorial (linked below) she suggests cutting the frame a second time (which adds to the weight) and I used a heavy weight card base as well. The Flip pieces also have a couple of layers on them. I was really happy with the card (and our daughter liked it too) so I'm just giving you the heads up about adding layers and additional postage.
My friend Frances had has this die set for awhile, and she made a card with an accordion strip along the inside bottom edge to help the card stand nicely for display. I tried it out and it worked like a charm!
Below you can see the sentiments that are revealed when you pull the frame to the right, but you also have the option of having it pull to the left when you are assembling your card.
Since this card doesn't open like a traditional card, I added a decorated panel to the back where we wrote our personal message. The Happy Mother's Day is by Karen Burniston, and I love the shadow cut from that holographic cardstock. ❤️
If you would like to see Sam's assembly video, click HERE.
I'm not sure what measurements Frances used for her card, but I took a 7 x 3" strip of white card stock, and scored it down the 3" side at .5, 1.5 and 2.5" to create the accordion folded strip. If you are making a different sized card, you would change your measurements for that size ... this one is a 5 x 7" card.
