Mini Tri Shutter Card Duo for Canada Day

Hello my crafty friends. Today I'm sharing two more cards for Canada Day, using an OLD die from my stash. I have a walkthrough of my cards on YouTube:

The first card was created with patterned paper from Oh Canada 2 (Photo Play) and decorated with both stickers and ephemera from the same line. The maple leaves were punched from a scrap of red sparkle card stock.

The Happy Canada Day in the centre was done with a label maker, and the white stitched rectangle is where I can write a personal message.

The second card was die cut from red card stock and decorated with mostly stickers & ephemera from the line.

Here is a peek of the inside, with more stickers and ephemera.

Embossed Frame Sympathy Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Back in May I was running errands, and thought I would pop into Michaels. I had a list of about 6 things I needed but I was surprised at how empty the shelves were and how small the paper crafting section had become! I could only find one of the items on my list but I did spy this embossing folder, so I added it into my nearly empty cart and that was that.

I wanted to play with it right away so created this quick and easy Sympathy card for my stash. Both the words and the matting layer were cut from rainbow holographic card stock, I added some tiny butterfly stickers from my stash and also a few prism gems.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

All Occasion Cards From A Card Kit

Hello my crafty friends.  Today I'm sharing some all occasion cards and I have all the details on YouTube:

I started out with this pretty card kit from Stampin' Up, called Gorgeous Posies. I loved the colours and of course that the envelopes were also coloured to match. The kit came with the supplies for sixteen cards, so instead of overwhelming my friend with that many cards, I created two identical sets of 8 cards. That gave me two gifts for two special friends!

Since you can see most of the cards in the first photo and I went over each one in my video, I'll share a couple of pictures of the card interiors.

Hummingbird & Butterflies, Pop Up Card

Hello my crafty friends. I actually have a few Easter cards that didn't get shared in time for Easter, so today I'm sharing one of them. I used the Hummingbird Edger die from Creative Expressions for the front of the Mini Slimline card. I painted the belly of the hummer with Wink of Stella and added a couple of white gel pen highlights.

Inside I created a simple box pop up and added a trimmed crosshatch label. The butterflies were white heat embossed and die cut.

I stamped a sentiment on the label and added a tiny butterfly sticker.

Two Butterfly Overlay Cards

Hello my crafty friends.  Today I'm sharing two cards made with an older Paper Pumpkin kit - a Sympathy and a Birthday Card. I didn't get the actual Paper Pumpkin kit, instead I ordered the refill kit as I didn't need the stamp set or ink spot that comes in the full kit. I also did my own thing with the supplies rather than follow the instructions. Ha.

The butterfly overlay is SO pretty, so I added it to one of the card bases in the kit - the envelopes are also printed but I guess I didn't take a photo of those.*******EDITED TO ADD:  I found the photo with the envelopes, so will add it to my post.

The sentiment was gold embossed onto a white strip then added to another white strip that had coordinating ink colours added to it. I also added some bling for a little sparkle and shine.

Here is a peek at the inside of the sympathy card ...

Next up is the Birthday Card ...

Canada Day Flip-Its Card with Additional Pop Up

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog. Today I'm sharing a Flip-Its card for Canada Day and I have all the details in my YouTube video:

It was fun creating with the papers, stickers and ephemera from Photo Play. They had been on my Wish List since they first came out and I'm slowly adding them to my collection.

Not only does this Flip-Its have the additional flap to open, I added a Pop Up inside using one of the journal cards/cut aparts from the package.

As I said in the video, I will do this again and have a tutorial for you but basically I folded the cut apart in half then added 1/4" score lines down each side. I am liking the added dimension you get - and the little surprise - when you open the right flap!

Mini Slim Trifold with Poppies

Hello my crafty friends. This card has been in my head for awhile, so I'm glad to finally get it made. I started with a card base measuring 10.5 x 6", scoring it on the long side at 3.5 and 7".  That gave me the trifold base and then I pulled out a 6 x 6" paper pad from Studio Katia for the black and white strips.

I did add a thumb notch on the far right panel but that isn't necessary - I just like the look.

The beautiful poppies are from Divinity Designs, as are the butterflies. I like to have a couple of Thank You Cards in my stash, so that is where this one is heading.

One more look ...

Floral Hugs Pop Up Platform

Hello my crafty friends!  Can I just say how much I'm loving this Platform Pop Up die set from Lawn Fawn? It is SO easy to assemble and completely generic with unlimited ways to decorate it. I know there are lots of people using Lawn Fawn's stamps to decorate the platform but I have been moving away from tiny images and colouring those tiny images --  so I have lots of other ideas to decorate the platform.

Here, I used a die cut washi tape pieces from Pinkfresh Studio as the main elements. I was SO happy with how it turned out!

The platform itself was cut from pink card stock and I added some green polka dot patterned paper to the portions that would be viewed from the top.

The HUGS was die cut from a Rainbow Holographic card stock from HunkyDory. I can't link that one for you but I have a similar one linked instead.  The butterfly is one of the stencilled butterflies (also from Pinkfresh Studios) and I loved how perfectly it fit on the front! This card folds up completely flat for mailing and stands nicely for display when you push up the bottom edge.

40th Anniversary Pop Up Mini Slimline Card

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to Karen Burniston's June Designer Challenge where she challenged her Design Team to create a Mini Slimline Card. Since my husband and I recently celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary, I'm sharing the card I made for him. I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube as well:

Inside I used the Hearts Collage Pop Up along with several word dies and linked everything that's available at the end of my post. Pale blue mirror card stock adds shine, as do the mirrored hearts, and I outlined many of the hearts with a gold marker.

Obviously, you can't capture the movement of the expanding hearts in the photos but you can sure see them in the video! There are a LOT of hearts. I didn't actually count them, but there is close to 40 of them. Ha. The Hearts Crosshatch provided a signing blog where I wrote my message to him.

I have the rest of the Design Team linked on the right side of my blog, and I hope you will check out what they came up with for the challenge. Karen Burniston will have her post tomorrow (Wednesday) on her BLOG.

HERE is the link to Karen Burniston's assembly video for the Heart Collage Pop Up.

Five End of School Cards and one Teacher Thank You

Hello my crafty friends. I was inspired by my fellow Sheetload Collaborator Yvette when she used the May Sheetload to create Teacher Thank You Cards. Since I loved the May Sheetload, and it was on my list to make our grandkids end of the year cards - I used her inspiration to create these 6 cards. 5 are A2 sized cards with a gift card pocket inside where I can tuck a little cash for them, and the 6th is a larger card that I will give to our middle daughter for one of the kids teachers.

I apologize for the photos - I didn't realize how BUSY and chaotic they looked until I was writing the post!

I pulled out this School Days shaker kit from Queen & Company for the fun shaker elements. They are adorable and were lots of fun to make. I checked to see if it was available so I could link it for you, but it is not. In fact, so many of the products I used are from my stash there isn't much I CAN link for you with these ones!

Here is a peek at the inside - all 5 of the A2 cards are the same inside. I wrote them each a note and signed our names on the white panel. And tucked some $$ inside that pocket for them to get a summer treat.

Finally, here's the front of the teacher Thank You card....
